You prob already know, but if you cycle the sunroof through open and close up and down and hold it when it gets to each section for a couple of seconds then it should set itself and loose the error message. It's just the anti trap mechanism. Probably does this because the battery was disconnected at some point. Great car, very nice indeed. I won't tell you what I have spent on my 2001 P38 :(
lovely car . I wish I still had mine . It`s a Landrover that does not rust . The best modification you can do ,for reliability , would be to disable the engine imobilizer . Phone mast transmissions would sometimes make it very dificult to start . There were certain places that I dare not park . I found the car was much better for regular use , not just once a week . Regards , Paddy Owen .
You need to find a bloke who`s a damn-sight cleverer than I am . If I had found him years ago , I`d have been out to the car with my tin snips , faster than Usain Bolt chasing the last pasty in Cornwall . Cheers. Paddy . @@BrassicClassics
I've had my P38 DSE 2.5 for just over a year and it's been brilliant, on 117000 1998 and cost me £1500, so much car for your £. If you find the heater and air con are not that hot or cold have a look at the cabin filters, one each side of the scuttle, if there caked in crap you'll notice the difference £10 for two and the change is 100%👍
Good tip 👍 Thank you. Yes they are a lot of car for the money. I’m about the same amount in with this one. It’s been good just wish I got to drive it more.
@@BrassicClassics No, I'm usually a really miserable old git. ;) This was my sunny disposition shining through. Sorry mate. Biggest Issue I have found on my 200 MY P38 is that all the rubber elements are at their end of life.
Quick question. Driving yesterday accelerating fairly hard to about 70mph when suddenly engine light comes on and revs drop, the engine didn't cut out I just lost revs. This only lasted 3-4 seconds then back to normal. It only happened once and was fine the rest of the way I tried to see if it would do it again, kicking down hard but it was faultless ..... Any suggestions??
If you lost the rev counter then this usually indicates a drop in voltage on P38s. Mine did this regularly and I ended up replacing the battery and alternator. In the end it turned out to be a corroded ground cable from the alternator back to the battery. These issues are covered in quite a bit of detail on the landyzone forum. If you need any advice feel free to drop me a message.
Randomly I’ve learnt that if the little orange light is on/flashing for the air-conditioning it means the Aircon is off! No light means it’s on, go figure! 🤷🏼♂️

Compared to mine, with only 17K on the clock from new and no paintwork issues, that's a piece of junk (I am happy to say). :) Good Luck!

Needs plugging in either nanocom or hawkeye pro injector pump actuator if not pilot injector number 4 with wire
