The best way to study the Bible is to know where in the books of the Old Testament refers to Jesus and where in the books of the New Testament, Jesus fulfilled the Old Testament. Catholics call it Typology. I have yet to encounter a Sola Scriptura study the Bible that way.
The problem with sola scriptura is that is not on the Bible, it comes from the protestant reformation. Also people will interpret the Bible more with their own opinions rather than the truth. They will judge others with whatever opinion and assumptions they have and want to believe..they change the sacred scriptures make different religions cause chaos and confusion it is very selfish and relativism which is very wrong and it takes away from truth.🙏🏻 The truth of love one another as I had loved you! And this is exactly what's happening now on planet earth sadly.
I agree with this to a degree and think I understand what he meant but perhaps he should clarify a little more. I think we were meant to study it and reflect on it for how we should lead our lives ,to worship and to most importantly-yes -find Jesus -which you have to study it to do but perhaps not for some of the things he said.
We are as Christians to view the Old Testament in light of Christ, but we must also not discount the sacred scriptures of the Judaic texts and miss the prophecies and promises given to the Jews about the foretelling of the Messiah and the life of the world to come. I disagree with the approach that it was never meant to be studied as a structure fot religion. For the record, the Bible is not magic totem that fell out of the sky. It is the Word of God divinely inspired that came first verbally and then was written for record to continue on with the teachings of the Old and New Testaments. Neither shall you discount God's Chosen People or Christ's Church. Thanks be to God.

So y'all are praising the wrong one oh and by the way his name is Yeshua, Jesus is his name transliterated twice, once to Greek that was lesuos and than again into latin which made Jesus.yeshua is the name for salvation in Hebrew but the Catholic declare that the name Jesus means salvation.. so wrong person and wrong name...
