Wow a of work and cool to watch bring the sail down so cool almost as cool as putting the boat in water and out. That place brings back Memories of Port Colborne. Beautiful place. Love those lovely foot imprints. Kai is growing up so fast now he responds to you by laughing and babbling such a sweetheart.Coral is being herself cute as ever and growing up too fast. Great video guys can't wait for next week. With all my love Erica/Mom/ Nana xoxo 😘⛵️🏖👨👩👧👦❤️💗💗💗💗
One thing I've learned from watching these videos is that people who don't like to work should reconsider launching a sailing career. You did a fine job working together to get this done. I'm guessing that the Erie Canal has bridges that don't open up like they're supposed to (lol)? Solar railing looks good.
You got that right! I feel like the work never truly ends. But I wouldn't change a thing about it. Those darn bridges are only about 15ft off the water at times.
So, where do the new nav lights, vhf antenna, etc. go? or is that next time stuff? You don't have to show a full install :) just a "this is where we put" or "we have this temporary solution". would be great. In our case the previous owner did not want to ascend the mast to fix these things and so they are already mounted on the house, pushpit, etc. I have no reason to change this for our use as I feel having them at eye level is more useful in our particular cruising grounds (Georgia Strait, BC). I am also looking at moving the mast forward (well replacing it) for a junk rig, so I will make such decisions at that time. I may do some of both.
It would have been nice to get a few more things done while the mast was down. But with all the extra help we had making the supports for the mast and with other high priority projects that needed to be done we didn't do many mast upgrade projects. We were more concerned with getting our boat through the canal
Interesting to see the mast come down and put on the framework. I was wondering about the aft solar panels but the drone shots answered my questions!!!
Hey Guys, found your channel a month or so ago and have been enjoying catching up. We have an 85 Landfall 43 we keep in Midland ON. Look forward to seeing your trip south.
That's the plan, we're a few years behind you though. We bought our boat in the fall of 2019 and we've kept it in the same slip. We did see your boat in the North Channel 2 summers ago, it's the it's the only other one I've seen in person. Not sure how many are out there but not to many I think. I know you probably have the window leaks sorted by now but if not, I have a great doc I followed when I did mine, followed a similar process when I replaced all the lenses on our hatches.
Years do go by really fast so it won't be long until you're out there too. You probably saw it in the North Channel because the previous owner used to be near there. What's your doc there are still some leaks. We can't keep up with all the love this boat needs. Fair winds.

They sure are growing up fast. Every week we see changes in both of them. So glad we get to be here to see it all
@@WildlyIntrepid Beautiful to see all their milestone enjoy 😘⛵️🏖👨👩👧👦❤️💗💗💗💗
Absolutely
Amazing how the mast gets attached to the mast base!!🥴had it happen to me on 3 different boats I’ve bought.glad it worked out in the end
It really does get stuck sometimes. This time I think part of the problem was a turnbuckle caught on something.

Such a nice family you have! Where did you get this done? I’m doing the same trip the other way around
We did it at Sugarloaf marina in Port Colborne. Good price and great staff. Enjoy the trip

Ya the shots we had moving the solar didn't really show what was going on so we figured that drone shot would show how we stacked them

That's amazing, thanks. I didn't realize that there was another sailboat like ours so close to where we were. Any plan on sailing South with her.
