  • this video is about how power supplies behave on different amps sounds.
    what I've got:
MXR DC brick has the same typical noise with caline cp 5.. the ozzman has less-treble noise.
so I'm gonna try this to other places and find out what noise this is.
    anyone have the same problems?

For anyone checking this out 5 years later; I own the Caline 5 Power adapter & I find it totally quiet, I don't get any buzzing or hissing. Something is totally wrong with this guys setup I feel. I've gigged with the Caline 5 through amp & PA, not any unwanted background noise. Give it a go, if you have trouble free issues like me, keep it, if not send it back.

Hi...I am using the Caline 5 and have it situated under the pedals. I am not experiencing any noise. I loop the drive pedals through a noise gate and go straight through to my delays. My practice amp is a Roland 30. There is somethiang amiss in the set up in this vid.

Hi, Did you get this problem sorted as I have the Caline and don't have any trouble with it. I did have a pedal that gave a lot of hiss so it could be one of your pedals creating the problem.

well, it wasn't exactly a problem.. i was just trying to show that those PSU have different noise frequencies. those are used on the same pedalboard with different amps... but, I Thank you for sharing, glad to have your experiences here as well..

You do realize that if you rest the brick on your pedals it makes that noise especially near a wah. That’s why it’s supposed to go under the board where it was meant to go

You should show all the gear you are working with. Like your guitar, it sounds like you're getting hum from a single coil guitar. I have a Caline power 5. It's super quite no noise.

To battle with noise, you need INDIVIDUALLY ISOLATED outputs. caline and dc brick are not isolated. They're regulated daisy chain in a box. Isolated power supplies will/should run about $150 or more. If the device is cheaper, it's most probably not isolated or isolated in groups. Using a wall outlet only for the pedalboard, using shielded cables and using a noise suppressor will help with the rest of the noise. (guitar into the noise supressor > send from the supressor into noisy pedals > return on the noise supressor > output to the rest of the pedals)

this is not about noise ripple, but rather to emi frequency, believe that even though using an isolated power supply, noise interference like the above will still be there, I also make regulated and isolated power supply based on linear topology, this noise disturbance is slightly reduced with a good design , and as far as I've seen, the Strymon power supply completely removes the emi frequency emission like the video above.

Is it normal for dc brick ,if the led are not lighting, when we switch on our pedal???

you should check it with multimeter tester for the voltage, ampere and such

You've got way too many pedals, and you aren't running them correctly.
You need to isolate a loop of your dirty sounds and anything else that usually makes a loud signal.
Send/Return on an boss NS-2 would help, plus removing some of those pedals.
Looks like you've got every pedal you own on there, with little regard to tone and function.

Assuming you have Ozzman, then you must be Indonesian.
Setau gue sih listrik di Indo ga stabil, ada tempat yang bagus ada yg engga. Dan ketiga PSU di atas ga cocok/kuat ngangkat pedal banyak-banyak (lebih dari 5), karena ga isolated. Gue punya Ozzman 10 out, waktu masih 5 pedal aman (1 dirt, 2 modulasi, 2 time-based).
Tapi pas beranak jadi 10 (tuner + 3 dirt (3 gain stage) + 2 modulasi + 2 time-based + looper + switcher) mulai berasa Ozzmannya 'jebol', noisenya parah banget bahkan waktu dirtnya mati semua.
IMO.

Aku bukan Indo, tapi aku tahu apa kamu cakap(Ngomong).
Ok kalau mahu budget sedikit cuba Caline CP-08 ISOLATED POWER www.calinemusic.com/products/powersupply/122.html
      atau P5 ISOLATED POWER www.calinemusic.com/products/powersupply/118.html.
Kedua ini Isolated power yg benar. Voodoo Lab bagus tapi harganya agak terlalu mahal.

i am sorry but i have to laugh the brick can not be on top of the pedals in contact with audio cables ..current noise an static hum will be apparent with all the bricks set up this way sitting on pedals even if there turned off they are antennae being all crammed in a pile an real close to the amps .....an the board loos like a nightmare

This is a horrible demo you don't stick the power supply on top of the petals isolated under your pedal board or you keep it off the board completely

Isolate your digital pedals because they dump a lot of noise in the signal.
