Hello OG! Hisea reached out to me as well and boy I’m glad they did. I chose the 6” composite safety boot. I wore them to work today in the rain. I average about 22,000 steps a day. These boots fit well and were comfortable right out of the box! It felt like they were already broke in!👍🏻👍🏻 Good bit of Hickory y’all got split up. Love that Fisher stove👍🏻👍🏻
Hi Todd. Thanks for watching! So far I’m really liking the boots. I had already split two totes full of that hickory. I have several rounds of the trunk left as well as quite a bit more of the top. I’ll end up with over a cord and a half out of that one tree. If you haven’t seen it yet you should check out the video where I cut it down. The Maasdam rope puller would be a great tool for you and Evan to have.
Dick you can’t beat the value of the Hisea boots even without the 15% discount. I think the firewood community is spreading the word about these boots. It must be nice having help in the woodyard. Be safe! 👍TCT
I agree with you on the HISEA boots Tony. Jose helps me 2 days a week with my landscape maintenance business. When it’s a little slow I’ll have him help me in the Woodyard. I sure can be more productive with a helper !
A good day of firewood production. You're going to have a nice store of hickory next year. I'm glad the boots are working for you. I haven't heard anything bad about them yet.
Thanks for watching Chuck. I’ll end up with over a cord and a half out of that one tree. I’m still trying to figure out how HISEA can offer that boot at the price they do.
Hey Dick! That looked like a great day there with all kinds of fun in the woodyard! It’s nice the Hisea reached out to you :). I’ve heard lots of good things as well about their boots and I’m going to be looking into getting some for myself coming up shortly, so thanks for this review Dick! Also Clifford did a good job supervising as well ;) Anyways nice job all around Dick, looked like a fun day! Thanks for having us out! Andrew from NB :)
@@oldguyfirewood thanks Dick! I appreciate that! I’ve really enjoyed watching your channel catalog! I’ll be sticking around for the long haul! So we’ll see you on the next one! Take care and be well :). Andrew from NB :)
Thanks Dan. I remember when I was offended when a cashier asked if I wanted the senior discount… now I ask for it haha! By the way I know how hard it is to watch everyone’s videos. I really appreciate it that you took the time to watch mine. “Be cool”😎
Yes it does help to have someone with you in the woodyard! I need to check out the Hisea boots along with the Haix boots that Chris has on his channel. Have a great day Dick!
Hey Obie. How’s it going my friend? Jose helps me 2 days a week with my landscape maintenance business. It’s nice when we have some time when he can help in the Woodyard. Unfortunately that’s not too often.
Hi Dick, that is a nice review of the Hi-C boots. I have a pair of the Hisea boots and I really like them. It looks like you have a nice supply of firewood for next year. Have a good week!
Thanks so much my friend. I’ve got a good start on next year but I still have a lot of bucking and splitting to do. I’ve cut back to about 20-25 cord a year. I like to hit that number by late spring.
Hey John. Clifford probably got 10 or twelve sticks that you didn’t see on video lol. I alway have to pick the yard up after every splitting session. He drops his sticks everywhere!
Have those exact boots (11w), very comfortable. Do have to fiddle w rt tongue some, but once it's set it stays put. Found a second insole helped a lot. As a dairy farmer I really should have registered them to test their lifetime warranty
Thanks for watching Brandon. I use Protalus inserts in all my footwear. I’ll be putting some in these boots also. The insoles felt ok but they are a bit thin for long term.
I just got my Hisea work shoes the other day. Wore them today, and after a few hours, they are feeling great.. I think in a few weeks I will other another pair as shoes last my 3 to 4 months tops for me..
Nice work! Rachel and I have the Hisea rubber boots and have been testing out the Moc toe work boots. For the money they seem to be top of their class. I have to get after a bunch of hickory as well.
@@oldguyfirewood I have worn more comfortable boots but not in the same price class for sure. I have been wearing them a lot lately with all of the mud 😞
At this stage of the game of Life & firewoodin , its a good idea- you trainin up some one to give you a little help. I am sure as you increase your woodster bis, you will have plenty of work for Jose. Give Clifford a head rub for me. Good watch
Hi Dan. Thanks for watching. Jose’ is a great friend and helper. He works two days a week with me in my part time landscape maintenance business. You should check out my #7 video where we do a mulch install. Jose’ is in that video doing some landscape work.
I met you at the pb show last october, i sold firewood back when i was in 20s i retired at 48 a few years later i decided to start again to keep busy. My nephews keep saying most people dont retire then start cutting and selling wood. I just was wondering your age so i can show them that when you retire you can still do things like that. You dont have to answer this if you dont want, i just wanted to show them because you are getting a bit older you dont just sit and watch tv. im 65 now and dont realy feel that old i just like to keep busy. Thanks in advance.
Hi Larry. Thanks for watching. Where did I meet you at the show? I’d probably remember your face but I’m pretty bad with names lol. If you get a chance, please watch my very first video. I talk about my age and why I keep working. To answer your question I turned 74 last week. As I always say at the end of all my videos “keep moving”. I think that is the key. Hope to see you at Paul Bunyan again this year…
I was very surprised at how wide they were Larry. I wore them all day and they were very comfortable. I got the soft toe because I have never been comfortable in a steel toe boot.
Hello OGF, aka Dick, that was a heck of a stick of Hickory. I bet that burn pile smelled real good, it was good to see you have help on this one, You need to keep that man on your ''good people list''. I have an exact copy of that Fisher, need to clean it up and get it installed in the house, needs a major cleaning, new firebrick, and the associated work in the house to make it safe and up to code.
Thanks Ben! Fisher stoves aren’t as efficient as the modern wood stoves but they will really throw the heat! Jose helps me in my landscape business and occasionally he’ll help me with firewood. He’s a great friend and helper.
Hi Dick, I sold that Fisher I picked up down your way this summer today and have a buyer for the recent purchase of the grandpa bear. I figured it was too late in the season for a sale. Good video, hickory my favorite!
Thanks for watching Larry. A baby bear Fisher was my first woodstove 50 years ago when I was living in upstate NY. I bought the one I have now about 12 years ago for $200 on Craigslist. There is actually a Facebook group for Fisher Woodstove owners. They heat great but really eat the wood!
Thanks so much for watching. All the reviews I’ve seen on these boots say they run pretty true to size and that is what I found also. I’m sure you could return them but I don’t know if they would pay return shipping.
great review of the Hisea boots. glad to hear your comment about having an extra wide foot and they were fine. they only show M for sizes. I have sent so many back because i cant get my foot into them or they are tight. were they true to size? you made short work of that hickory too. that 4 way splitter helps a lot too. mine is a single wedge, on my 27 ton craftsman. I too am an "Old Guy" but i like to do my own firewood when i can. At 70, glad i still can. I'm slower but smarter using my little JD 1026 R as a table and lift platform. thanks for posting.
Thanks for watching! The boots are very comfortable. I ordered my regular size 11 1/2 and they seem true to size. They feel like about an “extra wide” to me. We’re both truly blessed to be able to work like we do!!!
Thanks so much for watching and subscribing! The only hickory I can identify for sure is shagbark. I think this may have been a bitternut hickory but I’m not positive.
Morning Dick, Great video. I am curious as to how old Clifford is. Since he is on the job, I don't want you to run afoul of any North Carolina Child Labor Laws with your Dog Son. Take care a stay warm.

Thanks for watching Anthony. I don’t see much black walnut around here. It is beautiful wood for sure.
Another great video, hope you have a great new year, hickory looks good 👍
Thanks so much for watching! Hickory is great but it does take a long time to dry.

Hey Scheib. Thanks so much my friend. Brad and I just realized we had the same birthday! 74 for me but hey, it’s just a number… Wooooooooo!!!
