- Turning Points in U.S. History: 1776. In this video we explore the impact of Thomas Paine’s “Common Sense” pamphlet. We also explore 1) What ideas impacted Paine’s political thought? 2) Why the colonist were so reluctant to declare independence 3) What conflicts were already occurring in the colonies that made them receptive to the message of “Common Sense”, and 4) How Paine used simple and direct language to diss British rule and encourage independence.

Hey great video! Quick question could you compare Paine’s radicalism about breaking away at that time from England to Garrison and the institution of slavery. This would be for complexity. Thanks!!

"The British/the English" took the lead in clearing the Seas of Pirates (the Terrorists of the day back then) This activity required Money so, the taxation was justified from that point of view.
The music is to terrible that I stopped the video. It's okay NOT to have music in the video.
Ugh I came here for the Eoc
dang...……………..
Good video but please consider not having random music clips in there. I get that you’re trying to keep us interested but the music itself makes us lose focus and stuff like that. Maybe just focus more on puns instead
