I find it pretty cool that all three of Daniel’s rivals redeemed themselves and worked with him to take down Terry.
i actually thought mike barnes would’ve turned out like johnny
Johnny was just a wasting his life with some silly karate tournament. Chozen redeemed himself definitely after trying to kill Daniel while Mike on the other hand, he was more of an aggressive bully then someone who really needed to be redeemed, at the end of the day he was a teenager who needed to grow. Johnny though was a rich kid because of his step father.
was so expecting Mike to be the evil guy, should of learned my lesson, but if everyone keeps siding with Daniel San we wont have a show
Totally Agree 🔨 🥋
as mr miyagi said "no such thing as bad student, only bad teacher" he was right
The looks on Mike and Daniel’s faces when they saw what Chozen did was priceless
Chozen is tough but his got a Watch out like a hawk
Chozen had maybe a 90 percent chance of facing FELONY criminal charges for beating those people up and a 10 percent chance of it being legally declared an "accident" if he can PROVE that he had genuine reason to believe that the people he attacked were a danger and a threat. Beating the crap out of someone is NOT illegal if it really is self defense including defending others but its a high bar of proof.
Even IF he can convince a jury and judge that he had good reason to believe the men were dangerous and he avoids criminal charges he would STILL face CIVIL charges for the injuries he caused and the trauma both physical and mental. Civil court is different from criminal court which is why OJ Simpson got sued even after being acquitted.
@@Zurround It's an action/drama/comedy. The plot point here was that the Daniel and Chozen completely misinterpreted Barnes' intentions because they saw him unload some saws from his car (comedic). They thought he had turned into Silver's psychopathic serial killer for hire... (with his own staff). It's funny. That's all. The real crime was the 2 grand for the couch. Tufted Blue Suede?
that chozen look away from what he did was also killing me, I can't stop laughing.. I didn't know chozen can be this funny..
Chozen is Mr myagi 2.0
The funniest part when Chozen said: "If this is really a misunderstanding, then we better call the ambulance." 🤣
Lol Chozen is one of my faves. Glad he got redemption in this show.
Yet those same guys were able to load Chozen’s new couch not so long after. No big deal lol.
Instead he makes them move his new couch 🤣

Favorite character by far hes awesome
that's how a proper "babyface turn" as the wrestlers say, is done. you take a vicious irredeemable Heel, and find something good in them to build on. Chozen found balance and changed himself for the better but as you see..... old habits die hard.

Hopefully he gets with Kumiko
When Mike Barnes says “What the hell Daniel?!” He sounded JUST LIKE he did back in the 80’s in Karate Kid III😂😮
He sounds like old Barnes in all of his scenes in this season.
It’s Chozen’s face in the end that really cracks me up🤣🤣
Yeah but he now understands Barnes changed

I love what they did with Barnes in this season. He's a new man, but that old rage is still in him, as powerful as ever. I hope to see more of him in season 6!
It would be ridiculous to make every former Cobra Kai a villain and psycho. Kreese and Silver are totally enough.
Hell. Yes.
Same here, i wanna see more of him in season 6
Same with Chozen. Attacking Mike in the shop and almost breaking his leg is exactly what young Chozen would’ve done.
@@pasjonatpl dont forget that Kim lady, i think shes beats them all shes so crazy
I loved how protective Chozen was of Daniel this season, it made for such a nice change from everyone in the world wanting to kick Daniel's ass lmao
I didn't like that they made Chozen to seemingly be Daniel's lapdog
@@binarystar300 I wouldn't have said that at all. Chozen's worst regret is trying to kill Daniel, but it's also the moment that allowed him to step back and reevaluate his life choices. He's become a great man since then. I think he would consider it a matter of honour to protect Daniel and his family, not only for Daniel, a person he came to respect enormously, but for himself as well.
@@binarystar300 I liked it
They're brothers now, like Miyagi and sato 😅
lol as long as daniel don't insult chosen honor again they won't have problems
Honestly, almost all of us thought that Mike was gonna join Silver but it's nice and bittersweet that we should've seen this coming with Daniel starting to work with Johnny in end of S3 and Chosen in end of S4, we should've saw that there was a chance he'd make amends and work with Mike too. I like the idea of Daniel teaming up with all of his rivals from the 3 movies against an even greater enemy.
it was so predictable him joining Silver everyone assumed hed be the bad guy, turns out hes kinda chill.
He should have been in more
Silver ditched him after the 3rd movie no way he was gona work with that snake again
Yeah. Kinda surprised, but I guess I also kinda like the fact that not all of Daniels rivals life were ruined or became obsessed with Daniel.
I predicted he was gonna hate silver but when he was on the phone I thought he was working with silver
Chozen stole the show. He had me cracking up. 😂
It wouldn't surprise me if he studied by watching old films that Pat Morita worked in.
He’s like an overleveled ninja of the party who just wants a good fight.
This is probably the funniest scene of the whole season 😂

So glad to see Sean Kanaan play Barnes again. You could tell on his social media he was definitely hungry for it😅. His character just like Kyler is unintentionally hilarious. I like how the writers made him a good guy cause it adds a different perspective to the raged lunatic his was in Karate Kid 3
I gave my reasons above as to why I think he would have been much better utilized as a VILLAIN.
Mike may be unintentionally hilarious but unlike Kyler, he can back his shit up lol.
@@Zurround mike would’ve been interesting as a villain compared to the lackeys of Kim sun yung that terry hired.
@@megaavonaco9954 Those were (compared to the main characters) GENERIC senseis. They were masters by CONVENTIONAL STANDARDS yes but none of them were a match in a fight against the MAIN heroes (Johnny, Daniel, Mike, Chozen). In a 5 on 1 fight they could overwhelm but 1 on 1 ANY of the main "legacy" characters beat the crap out of them.
@@Zurround Karate Kid/Cobra Kai has always been a story about life. Everyone was flawed, even Mr. Miyagi. Some people hold on to their past ghosts/grudges (Daniel, Johnny, Kreese), some people become true monsters (Terry Silver) because of letting it consume them all their lives. Martial arts, the central theme of this franchise, is all about finding balance. That is what you find in people such as Chozen, and Mike Barnes. As much as it is about balance, it means life. And life is all about growth. Moving on from your mistakes from the past, acknowledging your brashness and stupidity in your youth, and this is what made Barnes a good character to turn to a 180. In real life you will see more people like Barnes and Chozen than Kreese and Silver. We all grow up, we all learn from our mistakes. The difference is if we choose to acknowledge them and move on, or go deeper into the rabbit hole, reaching new lows every time like Silver.
My take on it :)
The fact that we saw Daniels two most formidable rivals going at it was just awesome and unreal!
I loved this scene
Mike Barnes in this series is unexpected, went from Ruthless Bad Boy Karate to a Redeemed Furniture Store Owner
That is why I love the show. That part you just mentioned is very realistic but the karate fighting and Bond Villain Silver is not. It's such an awesome show.

Mike Barnes was a 10th degree black belt by the age of 19. He was considered a prodigy in the karate world and was a national tournament champion. Not surprised he kept up with Chozen in this scene. I think his style has changed over the years and he picked up more MMA, like all the takedowns and the superman punch at the end to save Johnny.
Yeah when he landed the spin shot chosen was like who the F is this guy!
Mikes style definitely has changed but he’s always had a mma type of style with the kicks and boxing punches
10th dan really? I call bullshit on that one. Only the founders of Shotokan, Gojo Ryu and Kyokoshin have attained 10th dan. Besides it takes many years to gain the honor and skill needed to be even a 5th dan.
@@MrDarknesstolight I totally agree, but that's what it said on his Wiki. To get a 10th degree black belt at the age of 19, he would have to probably be an extremely gifted prodigy. Maybe like the Mozart or Beethoven of karate, whooping senseis at the age of 13 or 14.
@@MrDarknesstolight
Cobra Kai might have their own belt system.
Chozen was pure comedy throughout the season especially his Spanish voice actor for that version. Love that guy 😂
I’m so so happy that Mike isn’t a bad guy in this season I was hoping for this and my wish came true
I feel the opposite. We already had the first 2 teen villains reform and side with Daniel. It was too repetitive. Plus, Silver and Kim have been beaten and shamed and Kreese is an old man barely out of prison. A fresh new ("new" to this SHOW as opposed to the entire franchise) villain arguably tougher than any of the previous could have been garnered from Mike had the writers been different.
How cool would a full on fight with Chozen have been if it was not such a brief "misunderstanding" that was quickly cleared up?
Mike never was a bad guy. He was manipulated by Silver.
@@stanescugeorgian9556 we’ll said Fam and agreed 100% as we’ll
I agree. It didn't feel repetitive to me because of how the teen villains' reform stories were different. Johnny never really got out of the karate mindset. He was literally the opposite side of the same coin as Daniel. Chozen learned the error of his ways and about honor when Daniel showed him mercy in Okinawa. Mike was an angry teen who Silver manipulated. It felt so real that at least one of them would step away from martial arts entirely and do a "regular job" which Mike did with his furniture store. It was so satisfying getting to see all three of Daniel's former rivals teaming up with him to take down the true enemy.
@@Zurround I disagree, I love how they made them good. Mike, Johnny, Chosen have different twist to their lives, and it made perfect sense, why would Mike side with Terry, who manipulated and used him in KK3?
Barnes always has this look on his face when he starts fighting- “You chose death.”
Basically Mike in KK3 was what Daniel could have been if he had joined Cobra Kai early on and didn´t find Myagi. They are actually quite similar. Hotheaded and putting family above everything and also being sucessful buissness owners. We see Mike becoming more like our Daniel when he finds his Myagi in his father in law. The way he talked about furniture in the way Daniel talks about Bonsais. I think this was one of the best decisions the writers could have done. Have Mike grow up.
I could go either way. I like Mike Barnes overall. He is a very entertaining character regardless if he is good or bad. But if you are looking to be a bad boy in Karate, Mike is the boy to be bad with, Right Nia?
@@cobrakingkai I mean if you ask like that I´d rather be in Johnny´s clique of friends in school. They seemed to have a great time together.
I love how Chozen and Mike had an interaction also how Mike reformed like Johnny and Chozen
Mike reformed and it was awesome seeing Daniel appreciate that. I loved seeing all 3 of his enemies cool with him now.
I predicted they would first think Barnes was evil then it would be revealed he changed his life around and only became a better man after the 35 years in between. When he said about how he wanted to apologize but didn't because he didn't want to awaken anything, it was clearly referring to the drama with him and Johnny and Cobra Kai. It warmed my heart seeing how much Daniel's 3 enemies truly cared about him this season.
What was amazing, and really cool, was that Daniel was willing to put their past behind him, and actually forgive Mike. Takes a real Man to do that!
jonnie steals this series being a durnken asshole being the same dik he was back then but now teaching ppl how to be a dik also
"Wait, this guy's with you? What the hell, Daniel!" 🤣🤣
This scene encapsulates Cobra Kai. Misunderstanding leads to conflict, cool fight scene, conflict gets resolved, people learned their lesson and move on to another misunderstanding
I've never seen Chozen being forced to defend so much before. And at the same time, I've never seen anyone nullify Barnes' aggression and attack so well. Epic fight!
Chozen was hilarious in this series! Seeing Mike again was awesome. This series was so well done.
0:55 smooth move to avoid any further conflict on Daniel’s side
If mike ever fought silver I still think he would’ve overpowered him with his unrelenting power. I’m glad Mike is good and he hyped me up so much when he said he wanted to beat silvers ass I started laughing because Johnny and chozen liked his idea, man’s was a complete savage I hope we get him next season.
Mike seemed pretty evenly matched with Chozen in their brief scuffle. He seemed stronger and fiercer than Chozen in a fight WITHOUT weapons but we don't know yet how he does with weapons like sword and sai.
Yes we NEEEEDD MORE MIKE IN SEASON 6 WE DIDNT GET ENOUGH HE WAS AWESOME

I love that scene, where Mike asks Chozen if he likes the Couch that Chozen is sitting on, and Chozen says he does. Then he asks Mike:"How much for the Sofa"? Mike's like:"$1,200.00...but for you...$2,000.00"!
I guess that the extra money Mike charged, was for the Table that was destroyed, when Chozen kicked Mike through it, smashing it!

Chozen vs Barnes. The fight you never thought you'd see. It would be like if Drago fought Clubber Lang.
I always thought Mike was the Clubber Lang of the Karate Kid franchise.
not even close drago would have wiped him in first round
Drago would destroy Clubber. I think Clubber vs. Apollo would have been a more equal fight.
I actually really like how they handle Mike Barnes. He didnt have much scenes but all the ones he got were great
I like how Daniel's rivals automatically got along.
Stranger: so how did you 4 meet?
Lawrence: We all made his life hell until he kicked our asses in high stakes fights.
Stranger: Really?!?
Barnes: To be fair, We we're giving him the business first.
Chozen: Then, we no see him for many year. Chance encounter. We make amends, atone for misdeeds. Bury hatchet.
Chozen is the breakout character of the season, he essentialy steals this scene
The scene at the end was so gold. Plus, I really love how all of Daniel's main antagonist(Lawrence, Chozen, Barnes) redeemee themselves. Almost a damn cliche in the show, but it's good
It's not that far off in real life actually. When we're young men we want to prove ourselves by getting into fights with rivals and in my time having a fist fight in the back of our school which was the cemetery was normal lol. As we grow older we realize that it was stupid but was necessary in order for us to mature and try to avoid those situations again.
I wanna see more Mike Barners scenes, it's incredible how he returned to practice karate after I don't know how much time.
My favorite character now.
Cobra Kai does a fantastic job of showing time, age and growth. Johnny trying to be a good dad, or Mike giving up karate to provide for his family, or Chozen's road to redemption. Bobby showing the integrity he always had, and becoming a minister to help people. Silver and Kreese are stuck in the past, and have refused to evolve for the better.
There was that great moment where Johnny fights, not for ego, but for his unborn child. And how Mike Barnes' single focus is his concern for his wife. Chozen gaining satisfaction for teaching students his way, not his uncle's. Miguel and Robby becoming friends. Sam understanding that Tory's life is far more difficult than she imagined. The show is firing on all cylinders.
They accidentally punched Daniel and both were like “ WTF just happened???” Then Ending reaction was priceless! The look on both daniel and mike as chozen was like “ Uuummm… I So Sorry?…” 😂
I had always wanted a Chozen/Mike Barnes match-up and I wasn't disappointed at all. I also enjoyed how quickly Johnny and Chozen bonded while they were talking about Daniel.
Chozen went full comic relief this series and I love it!

Honestly this was “One Of My Favourite Karate Kid/Cobra Kai Fights” and also just sets the bases on how Season 5 had a lot of fun with what the Creators were doing for this Season which I absolutely appreciate because it is Hands down “My Favourite Cobra Kai Season” after doing these Ideas for this Season and also having the Main Structure to beating Cobra Kai with a bit of Basics coming back into the mix to with bullying and what made the ‘franchise’ come to four wish it and got made into the ‘franchise’ it is today

Glad to see that Mike too has left the "dark side". He seemed so mindlessly violent in Karate Kid 3, a real bully. But then again, so was Chozen in Karate Kid 2. Only Johnny proved himself a decent person right from the fist movie, after realizing that his sensei's methods were devious and un-athletic and once he lost, he handed himself the prize to Daniel, saying "you're ok Larusso, good fight !"
Mmm yesss lol
I absolutely love the line

Mike is so underrated
The writers seemed to have difficulty in finding a suitable role for Mike Barnes in this season. It was like they just added him so it would make the fans happy, but they didn't know how to use him. The end scene where Barnes and Johhny take on Silver's Sensei's, but then Barnes is unexplainably absent for most of it, making a token appearance at the very end of the fight, was weird.
i agree and they did him dirty in the final fight scene and gave johnny so much plot armour there's no way he could take on 5 sensei at the same time that final episode was rushed
They said he was out of town after his business went on fire with investigators
Yeah they should of done a back to back but with Johnny and Mike Barnes
Would have been epic if all Cobra Kai joined in for that final battle. Johnny, Barnes, Tommy, Jimmy, Kreese, and Dutch (if they could could convince Chad McQueen to do a cameo).
@@marcrutzou716 Yup, they rushed this season so bad that it honestly seems like a clusterfuck.
Like, Chozen confessing his feelings about Kumiko and leaving her a voicemail in English? WTF?!
Mike Barnes was just butchered by the writers this season. He was made so useless. From a former national karate champion who won multiple tournaments all around the country and earned the moniker, "The Tournament Terror" and "Karate's Bad Boy" to now.....whatever the hell he was this season.
His entire story felt like a really bad cameo to me. If they wanted to do something like this, they should have done it years back when Sean Kanan wanted to come back to the show. Building all this hype around him, making everyone excited as to what Barnes will do, and then we get....this. Even Stingray, Kyler and Bobby in S2 had better stories, arcs and longer fights than Barnes.
And as you mentioned, they gave Johnny some rigged-ass plot armor. Remember when he and Chozen struggled against ONE Cobra Kai sensei when they went to the Topanga Karate dojo and had to take him down together? And now suddenly a bloodied and beaten up Johnny comes back to beat up 6 or 7 of them? Makes zero sense at all, except for fan service.
