  • Some of us may want to help our neighbors by plowing their driveways or the nearby roads after a great snowfall. That's what one Murray man used to do -- but not any more. News Specialist Alex Cabrero reports on why the man has had a bit of a forced change of heart.

My bet is the O.T. he just took from the city works and would have continued to take was the main reason that work said something. The city sets aside a budget every year and if it's not used it's taken away. I'm guessing they either had overhead or needed to create more overflow for the year. They siad there was no city ordinances aka laws against it. Which means he could by law keep doing it. And the only way the city could prevent it is either get there and do it first or draw up an ordinance. But that's just my best guess.

He used to be the Mayor and he has a commercial snow plowing business, he should know the rules. I always thought with all the people around here with snowplows on their trucks, if they would all lower their plows as they drove from job to job, they could have all the streets plowed in no time. It makes some people feel important to give orders even though they have no authority. That city worker just didn't want the good guy plowing the street. I beg to differ, they DO NOT get union wages, they are paid on average 15 bucks an hour to start and takes years upon years to gain anything useful in wages, i worked for cities plowing roads they treat you like garbage, the only thing useful is the benefits.
It is also illegal to plow a city road privately due to liability, they don't want it and cower behind lawyers.

Yes, that's like stealing someone else's job.
