Thank you for all the tips. I’m in the process of getting one of these built and appreciate seeing all the pros and cons to the different ideas. Very helpful!
THANK YOU MATT 🙏 GIVE YOU A LOT TO THINK ABOUT 🤔 LIKE HOW MUCH IT TAKES AWAY FROM YOUR SLEEPING AREA OR STORAGE SPACE / AREA . I GUESS FIND OUT HOW WIDE & LONG EACH STYLE THE HIKER TRAILERS ARE FOR OUTSIDE & INSIDE ROOM . STILL LIKE THE EXTREME OFF ROAD FOR THE HEIGHT FOR OFF ROAD & EXTRA STORAGE SPACE UNDERNEATH FOR WATER TANK & STORAGE SPACE UNDER THE BED / MATTRESS . BE SAFE ! HAVE FUN ! GOD BLESS YOU BOTH ALWAYS ON YOUR TRAVELS ! ENJOYED 🍨 🍨 🍨 🍨 🍨
Great video as usual Matt. I am holding you responsible for our order of a hiker trailer 2 months ago!! HA! You have been a GREAT source of information. We hope to meet you on the road sometime in our Hiker. Keep up the good work.
Great informative video! Loved all the design modification. I've been looking at other trailers, Runaway Campers and Hiker Trailers. Both are simple, but I am starting to lean towards the Hiker Trailers. Please do a video showing all the design modifications for the inside of the cabin.
Glad you enjoyed the video. I have been thinking about doing an inside cabin video - glad to know there is a desire for that type of video. Stay safe and have fun camping.
Great ideas...curious if you have additional info on the black galley door organizers used by two of trailer owners? Looks like Velcro pockets and was hoping for more info. Thanks
Just Google "back of seat camping organizer" Just a hint...I tend to view stuff like that as semi disposable. I've had the expensive, name brand but now buy mid-range stuff, lasts as long before fraying, tearing, etc begins.
Thank you! Do you happen to have any more information on the trailer shown at 8:17, with the kids' bunk? The sweet bunk set-up done by Hiker is the main reason I discovered the company, but it looks like this family tried some other kid-sleeping arrangements, too!
I LOVE the fact that you included ALL the links to these goodies!!! My eye was twitching trying to remember everything. 🤣🤣🤣 Is there some sort of forum on these particular trailers?? Thumbs up on the video! Thanks for that.👍
Swashbuckling Adventures there is a forum for hiker owners only. I argued they should have it public to attract new buyers but they want to keep it private. Best source for questions is current owners like me or contact the factory they are very helpful. I try to keep all the links for products. It helps people find them later. Thanks for watching.
recently purchased a hiker trailer and like the addition of the camp chef Everest grill, where did you get the griddle that you placed over top of yours???
my Hiker will be built next month. It's been a long wait. I have a Dometic CFX 35 fridge, which I have been thinking about how to mount. I am having Hiker raise the lower shelf to leave enough room (18") for the cooler.
Congrats on the new delivery next month! You are getting it at a perfect time. When did you order yours? Our trailer will not be ready until later in the year.
Wendy Bauman yes this is annual. HTC-E. Hiker trailer campout East Will be held this fall in sept. Search for the Facebook event page. This year it’s in the Smokies.
I can’t find anything recent on the Hiker. Seems most recent things posted was a year ago. Are they still in business? Have they changed hands? Quality gone down? Are they no longer available?
It's a water works, I think that's the name ? There is a W on the side. Dog & people shower tank & pump. Hope you can find it, seems like they have a couple sizes. TAKE CARE..
Great video, gives me a lot to go with. I didn't get a Hiker Trailer, I got an Outbound Extreme. How deep is a normal galley? Mine can only go a max of 15" if we have a full wall. I wonder if I go with a half wall I can get a pull out for a cooler. I just wanted a separation from the actual sleeping area.
Matt DeWitt You must have a larger one than I do. Mine is a 5 x 8. Great video gave me ideas as to what to do with my small galley in the back as I only got white wired shelving.
Thank you for the video. I'm considering purchasing a Hiker Trailer and all your videos are very helpful. But I'm curious...do most of these people not camp in bear country? I'd be quite concerned about storing and/or cooking food such that the smell (and especially spills that go unnoticed) would attract bears. As a camper I store all my items in bear boxes and do all my cooking/eating away from my tent and car. I was thinking I'd have to do the same with a trailer as well.
@@MWDAdventures That would make sense. But I see some of the folks storing food (other than canned) in the trailer as well as what looks like cooking on surfaces that pull out and push back in when done. Looks pretty convenient but I'd be pretty concerned I'd be tempting bears. I like your way better. Thanks! :-)
Super informative!! Great compilation. Thank you!
We are planning on doing another galley compilation based on our HTC-E3 event.....coming out soon

Looks like some nice folks
Modern chuckwagon! Love it.
Hey Matt, would like to get on the list for upcoming Hiker campouts. Using some of the idea’s you’ve shown.

Thanks. Enjoyed learning.
Just ordered one 5x8 charcoal with roof racks for my kayak, and I think I am going to add the awning and that's it for now.
Very helpful video. Working on my galley now so this was great
Glad it helped

A lot of creative ideas to use or add for a Hiker Trailer rear storage. Thanks for posting Matt.
What was used as a door stopper at 3:56

Really great ideas. How about a video on ideas on the inside. Thank you so much for sharing this video. Hope to be picking mine up later this year.
Jeff Davis that is possible. Thanks for the tip I will look into it.
So many options to choose from. It kind of makes my head Spin.
agree . We did 3 builds with hiker before we hit our price point.
@@MWDAdventures
How'd that process work?
@@swashbucklingadventures9929 just submit your build and then break it down by price and decide you can leave without.

Check out this video: ua-cam.com/video/6bm2H11TimU/v-deo.html. It shows the mod this family made approx 17:28 showing their sleeping area/bunk.

Aldi, we can't find it any more
What are the storage things called on the inside of the galley door
What time mark are you asking about?

@@pulmice Last July. I used the time to make a lot of changes to my build order.
This is a great compilation! Was there a Hiker meet-up? Is this an annual event?

Yes, they are still in business.
Do they have any for sell on the floor or is all units preordered
It is all preorder. They are hoping to get to the point where they have some on the floor to sell, but are not there yet.
Does anyone know what the tank and hose setup is at 4:17?

We store most of our food in the truck if in bear country and making food takes place at the picnic table not next to the trailer. If we can help it.

John C say there is a sandwich tray option. They have to decide where they are camping and the how they want to use there trailer.
Some of these trailers have so much weight distributed toward the back end I worry about having enough hitch weight. Any thoughts?
Jon Schmitz you are correct you have to play the weight game and make sure you have correct items in your tongue box.
Cost as much if not more than a regular small travel trailer with full amenity.
Much higher quality
It’s not a gally, it’s a closet !
You draw this out too long to even watch.
