I am in that exact place, met my partner (at 23) at a dead end job and have moved up the ranks but still struggle to find what I am looking for in work 3 years later. I am fortunate to have a partner who is extremely supportive and trusts my strategic and sometimes experimental career transitions. I have also been fortunate enough to be able to move upwards so I think that helps with the potential of pushback or dissonance. My advice would be to stay patient. I have heard from so many peers that it can take you 3 or 5 jobs until you find what you are looking for. There is not a one size fits all for how to make a living.
This episode is so relevant to me right now as I am also in a job I dislike and am actively searching for a new one!! Plus it’s just relevant overall!! And Dang that’s a lot o’ different jobs Beleaf!!!
New sub...binge watching your videos! I saw you two a while back on Kevonstage platform and made my way here! I really love the vibe yall give. Very happy to be here!
I think that women have more of an opportunity to explore if their parents are around or the have a husband. Because we as men have the responsibility to be on it as soon as we leave school. We need to be doing something. I am a creative also, but not living completely in my purpose. I am working a deadend job to make ends meet and I understand the need to work on your own stuff after doing things for others. I understand the work/life balancing also. I have two kids, although they are both teenagers now. It always seems like there is not enough time for everything. It is a lot of sacrifice.
Glen you are not alone! I’ve had (no exaggeration) 56 jobs and counting in life, at least 35 of them before I turned 30 and I started working at the age of 14. It took me all of the time, energy, education switches, industry changes to realize I NEED creativity, freedom, autonomy and to work for myself. This young lady has time to figure it out and should now by exploring
31:25 Summer jobs are a trap cuz it’s a limited amount of time & you’re typically young so you don’t know anything else… you’re generally still in the mindset of learning. Unless you’re intentional, the monotony of certain jobs with no end makes folks comfy and it takes a push to move out of it.
Lol soooo apparently i heard from "let us tell it" from Tanklsey T.V that Mr. Goolslby and Tanks wife #angel from That Chick Angel T. V(might've been an old episode) leaves the brown inner tube on the toilet paper roll too lol I enjoy watching you all❤thank you so much for your time
This is like the 3rd episode where Glen’s opinion sounds like my ex…and I’ve only watched 3 episodes so far…ughhhhh 😩 it hurts 😂 I’m praying for Yvette… 😂 (Do y’all consider yourselves complete opposite?) hmmm
Just got finished watching some older episodes (~3 years) and I gotta say, the growth is real from both of y'all!
That iron off beat joke was crazy😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I haven’t watched you two for a while now. I’m back, catching up (binge watching). I missed the channel.

Glen spoke like Rochell on Everybody Hates Chris... "Fire me then! I do not need this! My wife has ONE job!" 😂😂
