Chance brought up the point I was thinking, “I shouldn’t have to believe in your dream to not support it.” If you’re a true partner just SUPPORT. Show up like you would want them to for your own dreamssss! Idk why that concept is like foreign language to people. 😂

I think the fear for women for a long time is, “if I put in the work for this man and then he abandons me entirely, how do I pick myself up? But especially…HOW DO I KEEP that from happening?”
@@afisanaa does she have any advice on what to do and not do? Were there any yellow or red flags she ignored? Or was she lied to so well and/or it was such a simple thing, she didn’t expect it at all? Did she worry he would do this? What’s his/her life like now?
Put your faith and trust in God and NOT the man because man is subject to failure (he will never be perfect)... but God NEVER fails!! Be encouraged. 🙏🏽💜
@@taraclark3656 thanks for trying to help, but unfortunately it doesn’t really. What does that mean “put your faith in God”? We need clear answers. Obviously certain things are too specific to speak on and there’s a point where you just have to do your best with your experience, but I’m looking for if there’s any concrete terms to consider to better prepare.
Don't do it. Ppl switch up on you real quick once they get they're stuff. Red flags are never acknowledge what you contributed, undermine your support or goals, don't help or put down your goals, their confidence is on 1000, they know everything and treat you like you're lazy or stupid etc. Focus on you.

Financial constraints may be the issue...but support in moral support, cheerleader, listening ear, shoulder to lean on or cry on.... motivator....sounding board....voice of reason.... so many ways
Chance I know you are busy with basketball, but why can't you start producing music, I remember Tab and you said you used to have a studio at home a long time ago.😊😊

Support can look like being their accountability partner and that’s a beautiful thing for both parties and you achieve goals faster when being held accountable
I know that it's cliche,but it's so true, that teamwork makes the dream work. I agree 💯 with what you all said. That's what my husband and I always did. We were a team, and provided whatever support to each other that was needed at the time, and we bothe understood our roles and responsibilities. You have to have the conversation. It can never be selfish or one-sided. Both of you have to be on the same page. It'll make accomplishing your goals much easier. The mindset should always be what's best for us, rather than, what's best for me.
I think it's important for couples to know your in this together, it doesn't matter who goes first and your not in competition with one another. Knowing the motivation behind what your doing is important for both people. If you meet an entrepreneur as an entrepreneur you want to really have conversations about coming together and what that looks like. And uf you have to sacrifice your business the other partner needs to be very sensitive to that and learn how to navigate that grief with their partner as some identify with what they do and are afraid of feeling lost in sauce. It's not easy but communication is everything and being on one accord and keeping your word with each other. ❤

So many good things said in this conversation! How you can give support, want vs need for support, counting your partners time as your own(whew, that was a powerful and articulate way to express that perspective). But the main thing I noticed, in a way I hadn't consciously before, is the way you gave each other time and space to express your thoughts, not interjecting or interupting; and I'm not saying either one of those as a negative. It speaks to your ability to listen deeply and absorb, which is something I've been working on. I know my behavior stems from self doubt and worthiness/fear of judgement issues. It was so beneficial for me to see how to do that practice, and glad I noticed it in this episode.
I haven't listened to the message, yet. I was scrolling and simply wanted to stop and acknowledge the fact that you two make a beautiful married couple. Physically and spiritually. May God continue to bless y'all's union together. 🙏🏾💜
Sometimes support can show up in other aspects of your partner's dream such as increasing the financial revenue in their dreams. There are a number of ways to be supportive of your spouse's dreams.
Yes because support needs to be financially emotionally and spiritually from your spouse 🙏🏾and know that every day is not going to be a good day. Just being there for support. My husband started a business 2001 and I have been there since the beginning ❤🙏🏾it can work out for your family. The Lord has blessed our family 🙌🏿😇
When two people get married with their own… it’s so hard. Blessed but hard to mesh and blend the “business” part of things. We just stay in our own lane until we figure it out. 😂

Im sorry I did not get to send my comments earlier. But Chance, I have successfully coached a few couples on this. And the balance, and success did come thru as Tab alluded to: view it as 1 ship that needs to survive choppy waters through the journey to the destination. 2 new ventures can pull a good couple apart. Financially evaluate, even with outside expert advice, and do 1 to its strength, then you can both and the 1st business can support the 2nd business.

The man always goes first. That’s how I’ve been raised and my parents have been happily married for 32 years.
Very good topic. I think a couple things though that in my opinion are extremely common problems that most struggle with. One, we have to be honest in saying that a huge problem is that probably most of the business ideas and dreams that people pursue don’t actually happen. They don’t usually succeed. Sometimes they do, but let’s me honest, that’s where its starts to hurt when you’ve had multiple failed pursuits that have taken money, time, sacrifice, and cause great dissappointment. It’s all a different hindsight, when it actually works!!! :) Secondly, what about if the breadwinner is the one with dreams and ambitions that are risky in their own right? The other that looks to that partner to provide finances, maybe they have the kids or other responsibilities, and then they are someone forced to sacrifice these years of failed missions. To me, that’s where families really get stressed. Having dreams or far our ideas today with how expensive things are is harder than ever. Praise God though! Sorry for the long paragraph. Ha
I learned early on that I needed the security of a paycheck coming in every two weeks etc, so I chose not to pursue a career in real estate, which I thought I wanted.
For me, it was the best decision I made and allowed me to set my goals in a different direction and achieve a successful career in “Corporate America”. Being comfortable realizing a change in direction is needed and supported makes all the difference in one’s ability to succeed at their dreams.

I didn't know it was my topic for real I thought it was a coincidence, but you all nailed it. Owning a salon for 20 plus years has been our greatest commitment, but You are sooo right with counting his time. I WANT him to devote majority of his time to the salon, because I DO count the hours in the day and how they are divided. But, I don't Need him there as much as I Want him there.. love that Point✅. He has supported the major of the obligations for 25 years but it is his season to grow his web business and I can 100% support that (being that he is my Web developer.) I will Tag you guys. Hey Family, I thought Uncle Chance wanted to produce music. I recall him having a music studio in the early days. I can still hear him lowkey drop a beat, and Choyce has an ear for music as well. Very good conversation. One of my takeaways, there were more than one, you have to do what works for your family and relationship. I have to remember that and not compare to others. They can be an example but each couple has to define what works for them.

Support has to be defined as well (time, efforts, and even something as simple as words due to Love languages are important). The conversation beforehand must be clear and thorough.
