Local one for me and a good test. Watch out for the sheep and rabbits when descending! Another one to try from the bottom junction there is to take the lane to the immediate right again, properly steep but not as long.
I'd seen the rabbits when descending the week before, it almost feels like being a Disney character or something as they run out! I'd spied that lane but not ridden it.. Definitely looks brutally steep, I thought it must be the main climb the first time I scoped this out. Will give it a go and report back at some point!
Proper beautiful views again in Northern Wales. Too steep for my taste, but that's proper power for 7min mate. Even quicker than Illi up there, but then again, she might've done an easy training ride up 😉
Cheers mate, it was a beautiful day which helped. My preferred gradient I think. Haha yeah never fear, I did investigate that... I believe it was a fourth QOM of the day, all full gas. If it was my fourth effort I think I'd have pushed the bike up 😂 still delighted with the effort, cheers Marco
Surface doesn't look too bad from the footage Nick, definitely seen worse down some of the Welsh lanes. Think i'll definitely give it a go sometime this summer and remember not to stop in the layby before the segment ends!
Agrees James, when I watched it back I was thinking in the grand scheme of things it's not bad at all. Just the cattle grid which is quite miserable. I'm sure you'll smash it mate, definitely takes a little strava knowledge to not stop too soon!
I'd forgotten just how bloody steep that climb is. It used to be part of a regular route of mine decades ago, but now I do my best to avoid climbs like that as the legs are too old and weak. 😄 Congrats on getting 5th place on the segment.👏
It is a proper brute isn't it? That sounds like a great route to be able to do regularly, I guess it's pretty close to where you used to live? It's definitely severe enough that it requires some stomping rather than spinning unfortunately - suits me currently but not sure that remain true 😂 Cheers Chris, much appreciated!
