Man, for Years since you started this channel, your trips inspired me and some of my closest friends. We did several trips already, got mountain training, Wilderness First Aid, Navigation, etc. This is another one of those that I was like “that is exactly the kind of trip I was thinking in doing it”. Keep doing these things. It’s really important to show us not to take BC for granted. So much to explore, so much to see, so much respect for nature. I did Grannite falls a few years ago, but with a standar kayak. How was the experience with yours? Harder to navigate such logn distance? Is the material strong enough to not get punctured by the bike components?
Thanks Leandro! I'm glad you wrote this comment, and I agree completely! Paddling Indian Arm was pretty straightforward, not complicated but it did feel long, tiring on the arms, but I had good weather and it wasn't windy, so that was in my favour. The bike doesn't rest on the packraft with any sharp points sticking in, it's mostly the frame and wheels against the raft. I am careful about how the bike is positioned though, even while the raft is made of a tough material.
That’s a long paddle in a soft craft. Well done. My daughter and I did the paddle in the opposite direction in two single kayaks this spring. Paddling up from Deep Cove to Granite Falls took a few hours with a tailwind. Our paddle the next day back to Twin Islands was a different matter, against a strong headwind (16-18 knots all day). It took a gruelling 5 hours for 2/3 of the previous day’s distance. I don’t think we could have done it in an inflatable boat Glad you had calm seas.
Used to go out to the Indian River a lot for fishing . It's amazing how many Pink salmon get packed into those lower holes. You can almost walk across the river on the backs of salmon . Cool video man !
awesome to see all these sights again from the comfort of my couch. still can't believe i did this as an overnight out and back from vancouver on 38mm tires lol
Such a sick little trip! About 10x better with a dog along! I can't believe I'm not already subscribed to this! Just wish this video/trip was longer, can't wait to see more! Oh, what were those straps you used to attach the bike to the raft?
you inspire me after to be involve in a very bad car accident 9 months ago and still recovering. I am a hiking guide and i need to discover new hobbies and packrafting and biking looks fantastic. Hopefully see you arround squamish or vancouver one time. Thankks buddie
Yeah due to active industrial construction the gate at 9.5km is 'closed to all users' so I'm VERY glad I did this last summer, this year there is no chance of going this route.
Great adventure Luke! I really like that pack raft you have. It looks pretty durable. Is it expensive? Have you had to fix it on your travels ever? Thanks for taking us along the scenic route😁
Thanks! It was pretty expensive, over 2k, but it is a quality US made one, and I've never had to repair it, yet, but even in the case of a puncture it could be repaired.
@@lifeofluke Well, I've seen you out a number of times out on that raft and it looks pretty solid! Thanks for the info on pricing. I'll save up for one in the future😊
So cool! I’ve had a Packraft for 15 years I think…and I love where it’s allowed me to go. Not the fastest though! Hadn’t thought about this, but now I’m keen! I’ve climbed/hiked many of the mountains you passed on the bike part.
Watched this a few days ago...and ever since I've been thinking about how some fresh shock cord in that tent pole will take 10 minutes to install and vastly improve your experience.
Yeah I agree, the shock cord stretched out after the end of the first summer and has been annoying ever since. I've never replaced the cord before, I need to learn how to do that
Real nice man, seems like a fun adventure What's the model of your raft, and why do you deflate it overnight ? I usually don't deflate mine for 1-2 night camping but I wonder if I should.
There are roads that go up the side of Indian Arm but then they end. The Stawamus-Indian FSR ends as it reaches the north end of Indian Arm. So the roads don't connect in the middle to bike through.
Awesome video Luke! Appreciate all the hard work setting up those camera shots. Really cool drone shot showing the expanse of the area. Kudos to your dog too what a champ! I believe we have the same packraft (Caribou) with Tzip. Did you find that u had to put your gear in waterproof sacks or did they stay dry just in their stuff sacks?… Thanks for bringing us along and more great adventures to come! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👍
Thanks James, yeah Nina loves coming along on every adventure! This is actually the explorer42 (discontinued), not the caribou. To keep things dry I had a couple dry bags, and all my sleeping gear went inside the raft to keep from getting wet.
I caught a ride back to Squamish with a friend. The complete circle would definitely make for a great adventure and I do like that concept. In reality I don't want to bike on the side of the busy highway.
Rofl thats like a 15 km ride. Oh man!!!! Such a trek! So many adventures! Literally hear the highway beside you the whole time. Ps your bike is hilariously garbage.
This needs hundreds of thousands of views
Feel free to share it with anyone you might think will enjoy it, thanks Niall!
Hats off to the dog as well.
She is an incredible dog!
That natural pool up there is epic. You're a crazy man for taking a bike and a dog on that raft haha well done.
Yeah that waterfall pool is so picturesque, I would have loved more time to enjoy it in the sun, as it was getting late by that point
The salmon part is awesome I love them
Yeah witnessing the salmon is amazing.
Amazing just amazing
Thanks Dick!
Love. It mr. Some of the best adventures are straight out the back door.
Most definitely!

@@lifeofluke Thank you for the info. Yeah, definitely this one is on my list. :)
Beautiful video Luke and Nina.!:)

Been there and must agree, very gruelling.
Proper adventure. Nicely done! 🐟
Mahalo my dudes! I love your videos
Another superb video, thanks very much 👌
Thanks Lee!
Nice run Luke.
Wow Luke! This is pretty epic. Hats off to you!
Thanks!
I once rafted from Anderson Beach to downtown in an Explorer 200 on acid. It was pretty fun.
A friend tried to explorer 200 to the floaty McDonald’s when it was stationed in the burnaby inlet, but the current took him out to Stanley park
I really enjoyed this one man! Sometimes the solo adventures are such a good time.
Definitely, thanks!
Man I know that was a workout! Paddling big flat water is taxing.
Yep, the arms were pretty tired by the end of it!
I remember, about ten years ago, dude was hiking between squamish and Buntzen and went missing, i don't think they ever found him😢
Uh oh that's not good. The mountains are pretty rugged around there.
Used to go out to the Indian River a lot for fishing . It's amazing how many Pink salmon get packed into those lower holes. You can almost walk across the river on the backs of salmon . Cool video man !
Rad dude.
Excellent use of a weekend. A challenge worth the reward. Well done my friend!
You and your pup are living the dream !
awesome to see all these sights again from the comfort of my couch. still can't believe i did this as an overnight out and back from vancouver on 38mm tires lol
Doing it on the OG skinnies, awesome!
I was at the Stawamus river just underneath the Sea to Sky highway & saw a lot of salmon - at about the same time as your trip.
Such a sick little trip! About 10x better with a dog along! I can't believe I'm not already subscribed to this! Just wish this video/trip was longer, can't wait to see more! Oh, what were those straps you used to attach the bike to the raft?
Thanks Liam! The straps I used are cheap 'smart straps' from Canadian tire but they are pretty useful for this kind of application.
Man sometimes I just look out the window and think how lovely our province is, its just gorgeous and theres so much variety in the geography
There really is so much variety, and so much to see and do!
Reminds me a bit of iohan guiorguiev bikepacking. Looked like a great adventure ❤️
That is a huge compliment, Iohan is a big inspiration of mine, thanks!
Super cool adventure man! Putting this on my bucket list (live in North Van). Love that you brought your pup!
Thanks Rory! She really doesn't like being left out.
fun! inspiring little trip and so nice to see a healthy salmon spawn
Another Epic Luke and Nina adventure ! Thank you so much for sharing. 🌲🤙

Thanks Pablo! Yeah this can be an alternative transportation to hiking, it's fun to try something new
This is absolutely pure inspiration my friend 🙌🏼 that adventure makes think more to get a good bike for next season. Cheerz
Thanks Sunny, yeah having a bike again would open up some possibilities for sure!
Is that FSR shut down now with the pipeline to Squamish? Great trip 👍👍

This is freakin’ epic!! I’m from Vancouver as well and need to attempt this same trip at some point
Awesome trip, right in my backyard. Never been this route though
Watched this a few days ago...and ever since I've been thinking about how some fresh shock cord in that tent pole will take 10 minutes to install and vastly improve your experience.

Hmmmmn scratch that one off the list of wanna do's
great explanatory video
GREAT bucket list trip. 👍 I am sure there are more people who do these types of bucket list trips but dont vlog. 😊 West Coast style outdoors.
I've been to deep cove but never realized there was so many shoreline dwellers in funky cabins.
What does the doggie get for dinner? Nice doggie.
She had her own dog food plus I gave her some beef jerky.
An excellent video. Beautiful. Thank you.
Epic adventure 👌🏼
Lovely! Such a shame people leave litter. I’ve moto’d that road then got to the water and wished I could continue!
Real nice man, seems like a fun adventure
What's the model of your raft, and why do you deflate it overnight ? I usually don't deflate mine for 1-2 night camping but I wonder if I should.
Thanks! The raft is the explorer42 by Alpacka, I only deflated because I stored the items that I wanted to keep dry inside my raft for the paddle.
Dude thats a trek. I ride the indian arm route on a dirtbike and its a good part of a day there n back lol. Good on you ! Cheers
Yeah it was no wonder I was exhausted by the end and just wanted to eat and lie down, haha
right on my dude ! good achievement there !
Thanks!
brilliant
Nice! I went on that fsr years ago but met snow and turned around. Could you drive all the way to the top of Indian arm?
yes, you can
@lifeofluke cool I must check it out!
so sick. which handlebar mount/harness is that?
This is so awesome! Do you know if it’s possible to bike down the Indian arm too? Always wondered if biking the back roads to van was doable
There are roads that go up the side of Indian Arm but then they end. The Stawamus-Indian FSR ends as it reaches the north end of Indian Arm. So the roads don't connect in the middle to bike through.

@@lifeofluke thanks for the info! I’m planning an overnighter with my packraft to Widgeon this summer. You’ve inspired me, it’ll be my first!
Very cool and tour dog is amazing. Would you mind posting the route if that's OK? Thanks for the vid. Follower now
Thanks Raul! I'm one of the few that don't use a gps tracking device and therefore don't record any gps tracks, sorry.
Superb vid 💫 so very enjoyable friend 🙏
Nice channel, good dog!
inspiring. thx for sharing
Thanks James
Great video .super interesting.
Thanks for watching!
Nice video. How did you go back to Squamish? I was thinking to go from Vancouver to Squamish on the highway and than take the FSR to Indian Arm.
I caught a ride back to Squamish with a friend. The complete circle would definitely make for a great adventure and I do like that concept. In reality I don't want to bike on the side of the busy highway.
@@lifeofluke I was thinking to leave on an early Saturday morning, to avoid traffic on the highway.
Great video love it! Your dog is the best too. Fit! Not fat like my Aussie. Lol
This is a great video. New subscriber!
Thanks Klar!
I think u just saved my life..lol
8:03 👍💚💯🇨🇦
Having a dog along doubles the fun eh?
That's really hard on your dogs pads.
Whish I could take my dog on trips like this, but he'll run off the second something gets his attention
Maybe with some time and effort with recall training, it could be possible!
Where the hell is your life jacket?
He’s got an inflatable kayak…
Guy thinks he ripped his oil pan off and just keeps driving? Not very smart
Rofl thats like a 15 km ride. Oh man!!!! Such a trek! So many adventures! Literally hear the highway beside you the whole time. Ps your bike is hilariously garbage.
You ok bud?
