Kenny truly did one of the most important statements here, "everyone is a slave to something" that helps move forward through life. Kenny Ackerman truly was the greatest side character in this show to me.

@@ruzainibinyusofexactly, had the same exact thought ,when some random Japanese mangaka who probably never heard of our religion ends up sharing perspective and conviction with us that's gotta be something , I don't know if he did it in purpose or if his thought process didn't go there but Kenny's speech is lacking the " if humans are all slaves to something, if we are bound to enslave our selves to something to cope with life then maybe we were always supposed to be slaves which isn't necessarily a bad thing since we still got the freedom to chose what or who to serve, so humans you better chose well , something worth living and dying for " ,man I was mind blown watching this ep , cause we never question our religion and faith but when you consider it from an atheist point of view just to end up reinforcing your original beliefs is soooooooo satisfying
Kenny is such a complex character for how little screentime he had. I love how confused you guys were at the end lol but you end up figuring some things during the discussion. Really enjoy hearing your thoughts and feelings about the revelations has they keep coming.
Kat, so glad you mentioned that this episode was also called "Friends" because of Levi and his squad. I never thought of that before, I was always just thinking of Uri and Kenny.
This episode was honestly such a good ending to Kenny's character. I love him for what he brought to the story and how unique he was. Seeing that he loved Levi but couldn't be a dad for him was sad. His curiosity for if having Uri's power would turn him compassionate and all powerful. He was so intrigued and moved that someone so powerful would bow to trash like him. So he had to know. That was his dream. Find out that truth. So when Rod revealed the truth to Eren, his dreams and goals were crushed and he had nothing left to live for. He used his last ounce of strength to give Levi the closure he wanted. After finding closure within himself. His monologue about how everyone is a slave to something is honestly pretty true and means a lot. R.I.P. Kenny Ackerman. You brought a lot of chaos and comedy to the show. Now then, on to MONKE.

Kenny's statement is one of those that stays with you the whole series, like Mikasa's World is cruel, and other few yet to come, its just powerful

Kenny is one of my favourite characters, turning from a fairly basic-seeming 'crazy psycho killer' to exploring that being a crazy psycho killer doesn't exactly conduct a life of companionship or joy, regardless of how much he laughs about it. Not bad for a guy with not much screentime who's entire character was inspired for the story by the writer playing GTA V

Kenny's dream wasn't something expected for me. He wanted to know how is like being a good person.. Beside power, deaths and dificulties of life what is like having a perspective of peace that the king has talked about to him. That is why he wanted to get king's power, wondered that could king's power make even a terrible person like him someone good or not

me encanta este ep porque habla sobre lo que vivio y penso kenny ,muy interesante de lo que habla que tambien es algo a futuro , estuvo con levi hasta que supiera sobrevivir por su cuenta ,nunca tomo el rol de padre por la vida que tuvo y tenia en claro que las cosas que le habia enseñado estaban mal pero aun asi se hizo cargo y despues se fue ,la ultima "familia" de sangre que tenia ya no esta pero ahora levi tiene otra famila ,la coronacion de historia increible y el final con la aparicion de reiner con el titan bestia ,muy buena reaccion
I adore this episode.
First off, it’s elevation of Kenny beyond “mad killer” (don’t get me wrong, he’s still nuttier than squirrel droppings), is fantastic. And I think beyond pretty much any other episode (except maybe some of the specials), this HUMANISED Levi so much. Between seeing him as a kid and even in just the way his face his drawn, it’s really interesting how much more of a person and much less of the grim visage of martial authority he becomes in this.
“Everyone is a slave to something...” Fantastic line. Perhaps not accurate, but fantastic.

I think Kenny described the whole series perfectly with those few lines. "Everyone was a slave to something. Everyone had to be drunk on something to keep going" If you think about it, it's true about all the characters.

I'm really wondering about the timeline here... I don't think Uri would've been older than 20 when he inherited the titan, since Frieda was 15 when she got it and Historia is 15 too when Rod tries to make her inherit it... But let's just assume he was 25 when he got it, even then he'd only be 38 when he had to pass it down, so why did he look so old? He looked at least 50, but more like 60-70 years old there.

Everyone needs something to keep pushing on. We can see since season 1 that Levi is so caring for his comrades who become friends if they live enough. It's so sad though that he keeps watching them die
