Someone needs to look into the potential role that rampant plastic toxicity and PFAS toxicity (including the effects of modern and "old-school" synthetic birth control pill formulations), and see if any of these toxic estrogens are partially to blame for the recent and unprecedented rise in gender dysphoria cases(!?)

I did not have rapid onset gender disphoria - I was convinced I was meant to be a boy since as long ago as I can remember. I enjoyed ‘boy’s toys and activities’ - an archetypal extreme tomboy. My parents accepted me for the personality I had and did not force me to wear dresses and encouraged me academically. My father taught me to fish, garden and repair engines before I was 9. My friends were all male. I had an accepting community. I am soooo glad that I was raised before puberty blockers or cross sex hormones were available. I HATED PUBERTY AND MY DEVELOPING BODY FROM 10, I had very painful periods and loathed my life from starting my periods at 11 until 14/15 when I started to find boys really attractive and although I continued to prefer non- ‘extreme girly’ clothes and contined to enjoy fishing, climbing etc, I became happy in my female skin. Went on to have a long happy marriage children and grandchildren and a successful career in a ( then) male-oriented field. Had puberty blockers and ‘gender affirmation’ medicaion and surgery been available 60 years ago, I’d have shouted and screamed to get it and my life would have taken a very different and much less fulfilling course. These b……. who pretend that children ( even forcefully opinionated and articulate children like I was) can consent to life altering medication (and in every likelihood long term misery) ought be in gaol. Those who ‘groom’ on line are to be condemned

Parent's reports are not evidence for what their children think and feel, despite how the article lies even about what Littman's study is about and what it shows. The one piece of "evidence" that it has.
If you're for freedom, then you should support trans health care and their freedom to transition and be themselves instead of letting others tell them what gender they are and that they're have a pathology to pretend otherwise.

@@tamashumi7961 And in many languages there are many genders and more than two sexes. There are many languages that don't recognise colours that we have a name for, and many that have different colour names for what we would call hues and shades. Language differs and does not dictate reality. The word gender discribes how people experience their gender identity.
What you are saying is that you don't acknowledge that people experience their gender identity at all. You're not a mindreader, so I know for a fact that you're just pulling it out of your arse, and if it were true then you wouldn't know anyone's gender without seeing theie genitals because gender expression would also not be a thing, or gender roles, or gemdered clothing.
Anyway, rule of thumb: your entire identity isn't dictated by the existence of any single organ. I am not my cock. I have a cock. That's different. Just as you are not stupid and evil, you just have backwards and false ideas and the false impression that you are correct when you are demonstrably not. You'd do well to think before speaking/typing, so to not make such of a bigoted ass out of yourself. Unless that's the look you're going for of course. It is very popular to be wrong and malinformed. 1990s epidemnic. I met with a young college student back then about career. He told me he was socially inept and isolated because he was sexually abused by his parents as a child. I asked him how he knew this. He said his therapist told him. I asked how many sessions he had with this therapist. He said just one. Iaskede if he rembered this abuse in any way. He said no. I asked him if he was afrai8d of his parents. He said no. Knowing his local ethnic culture, I asked him if his parents kept him safe by allowing him to play outsside only in their back yard. By himself. For years. Not peculiar to his family. A local custom, the parents anxiety and fear ridden (for good historical reasons). I got blunt. I said he was socially inept because of all that isolation. And he could learn to socialize by behavioral counseling andv coaching. I also asked him to get a second opinion from another therapist. He aggreed, and seemed to be relived. I asked him why he looked so relieved,. He sai the therapiost had told him he needed to work with her alone, ant consult any other therapist. Now he felt he could see another therapist because I said he should. He saw a new therapoist, He too up behavioral traing for socializing. We hit upon a craaer that would fir him, engage his mind and feelings. He never saw the original therapist. Everything worked out well enough.

So glad when he brought up the 90s fad of "repressed sexual trauma" that psychologists could insist were present in women that hadn't actually been sexually been abused. The therapy would convince some women and induce false memories that would result in actual trauma. This was a very real and serious thing, yet this podcast is only the 2nd time I've ever heard it mentioned. Human psychology can be incredibly susceptible to negative or harmful malleability

Because after there were a spate of me too hynosis regression false reports there was then a counter fad of reports of false regressions which actually were not false and had really happened. So that was a huge shit show. Cos a lot of kids who they found to have been falsely regressed had been put back in homes with absuers and so yeah its not so clear cut with that situation. As an older person I have not seen so many messed up individuals respecting obsessive behaviors. From eating disorders, to obsessions of different types like extreme need to tidy up, to clean, etc. And there is an obsessive need to look and be the same as every one else. I speak mostly of younger people. Meeting them I could feel empathy and sadness but also some level of shock at how many suffer from various obsessions. Unbalanced comes to mind. It seems to me that many younger people were ripe to being plucked from their lives to taking on certain trends as a way to 'fix' themselves. It feels so wrong and so tragic. Then, along comes these freakos calling themselves pediatricians, shrinks etc. pulling this gender affirmation theory to guilt parents and others to agreeing to a child's dysphoria or mental illness. It is a far darker story than most humans have any comprehension of and jumping on the trans train quickly to 'solve' a problem is a grave error. A red flag is when the progressives so called, all side with the trend, the pronouns, the flags etc. Nothing feels right, balanced or in the best interests of the child or adult who is suffering.

      From the article:
"The finding is concerning because youth with mental health issues may be especially likely to lack judgment necessary to make these important, and in the case of medical transition permanent, decisions."
"Lack of judgement" is probably an obsolete term.
Much because humans with conflicting ideas or problems have an "urge" to have the pain go away.
Discomfort is a strong feeling that easily out-competes long term planning and diverse and calm reasoning.
Pain makes humans self occupied and intollerant. My thinking and my feelings take priority.
It is natural and quite kogic, You will alter pehaviour towards dealing with your own urges when they are urgent.
As you read in the report, prior "mental issues" is common.
Mental pain and distress makes you narcissistic.
The problem is the current trend is to grant the selfish human with strong feelings even more priority.
Being important is gratified and saluted.
People who say they are important are heroes. Especially if you express pain and even better if you can express victimhood.
      Then we are all ears.
In a world where we regard everything generated by SELF as sacred our hands are tied.
Irony, humor, critisism, suspicion with regard to possible flaws in human thinking is forbidden.

I have never had any issue with gender identity. But I can say that when I was a young child I remember my mum telling me she wanted me to be a girl. As she had already had my brother and they had no desire to have more children.
I remember wanting so badly to be a girl just to make my mum happy. But she explained she is not upset or sad I am a boy. She loves me no matter what. Which now as an adult I 100% understand.
Yet I can only imagine if I had voiced this concern to a "modern" teacher. They would have ruined my life off of a single simple non contextual comment made by my mother.
Just because I was not mature enough to understand the meaning behind my mums words.

What is your definition as gender? What does the word substantiate in your mind? I’m asking as a curious person without judgement or using malice intent. Genuinely curious as I don’t understand what and why the term is being thrown around like it’s a religion or cult. Can people not treat other people just like a normal person? Why do we have to differentiate what gender we have to identify as? What purpose does that bring into a conversation between friends? Have society become so judge mental or sick in the mind, that a label suddenly makes a person saintly because of a label and not despite of the actions they have taken in life? It’s not like a title such as Sir or Dr. why do people self assign a label and believe they are entitled to feel special without any effort? It works in a game fantasy sphere, but why is it being taken out of context into life, when we know things that are in play, in a game that is constructed specifically with different attributes to real life?
Have people finally lost their touch to reality and fell into mental despair without the faculty to separate fantasy and reality? Do we all need a sticker that says we are special despite it only being a sticker?
Sorry, I’ve been living under a rock and do not use social media, for obvious reasons…

I never judged him or gave any negative comments or attitude. We walked that journey together and I gave him all the space he needed to discover his identioty and explore it as he needed to. He is in a straight relationship now and happy. All three of my children have explored their sexuality within the comfort of a healthy parent child relationship. When I was a teen - 80s last century - it was common ( not purely academic, actually kindof folklore ) knowledge where I lived and the circles I was in that puberty for either gender is a time of confusion, and finding ones sexual identity . It was simply accepted as a feature to be really insecure about ourselves, and who we are sexually .
What did not happen was people telling us we might have been born "in the wrong body" . What also didn't happen was anyone preying on us, adivising us to surgically change our bodies the moment we expressed any kind of insecurity about our sexual identity .

Part of the issue with victim culture and intersectional theory is the incentive to use your flaws or your psychological divergences as a crutch. In older times, you would hide that, try to act normal, etc., which wasn't ideal, but did cause many to overcome disadvantages and achieve things. In the process of creating a more inclusive world where we want to help those who are disadvantaged, we unwittingly create incentives to lean into those things to get benefits, deflect accountability, and justify our lack of success or competency, when really maybe we could achieve those things despite these hurdles. We need to be able to work towards removing those hurdles without people feeling they can't still try to overcome them if needed.

During the years when we watched TV, we tended to watch little of it, or something "worthwhile" (news, the Peanuts cartoon specials, something on PBS). As a result, we did not participate nearly as much as our peers (including some of my best friends at school during this time, of a similar background, and attending the same church) in the Hypersexualized & Hypersexualizing content that most young people my age, my siblings' ages (and eventually my 3 children's ages) have been immersed in since early childhood. Most American families are not exposed to non-American content from foreign countries or outside the Anglosphere; most, therefore, are not even able to imagine that the entire world does not watch this content ("programming"... and it's called that for a reason! I worked in Hollywood for a few years as a writer & script doctor/researcher/fact checker, I know the industry very well, some of my school chums became top creators/producers on The Simpsons show, etc). Americans have been brainwashed, in utterly unsubtle ways, into imagining that if a girl is close to other girls, she must "want to have sex with them." And vice versa. That is rubbish on stilts! I have had a number of close women friends: I have never had the least interest in kissing them on the mouth, taking their clothes off or hugging them romantically! I have exchanged warm and affectionate letters with them, and sentimental gifts, but there was nothing the least sexual about any of it. And in many cases as we had our own kids, we had no time left to carry on maintaining our contact, even though, of course, we missed the conversations and had fond memories of our youth. But young kids today are being programmed to think, "I like this person, who is my sex, more than I like the opposite-sex teens who are attempting to flirt with me or date me. That means we should be Lovers (instead of just close platonic friends, as people in our 'uptight' parents' generation would have been)". It's all a Weapon of Mass Distraction, a terrible burden for young people in the most vulnerable and susceptible years of their lives, as they are just beginning to experience their own biological maturation unfolding... There's an agenda behind all of this and no, it is not difficult to figure it out. That's not to say there are not Gay people, Gay teens or people with intense attractions to someone of the same sex. But it is not credible to claim, "I feel like a woman," if you have no idea what a Woman feels like, because you have never had to deal with Menarche, Ovulation, Menstruation, Infections of the Fallopian Tubes, having a much smaller bladder, etc! The fixation on the kind of clothes people wear is also something I never understood, and that also is fed through the TV set above all. In ancient times, men wore "dresses," too (long robes). In the 17th & 18th century, wealthy men wore makeup and elaborate wigs! And vivid colors! And satin, lace, silk, velvet! Those were the fashions, and it had nothing to do with who was attracted to their own sex or having sexual experiences with both sexes (that was simply called Debauchery, not "bisexuality")!! The idea that your 5 year old boy who hates the heavy, coarse, luridly daubed clothing being sold as "Boys' " at your local lower-cost garment supply store "must be gay" because he prefers the softer, slinkier fabrics that are available to his older sister is simply more Programming. It's obviously just a result of hideous decisions being made at the apparel company, that for some reason imagine a toddler with a penis needs to be rapidly habituated to wearing sackcloth and burlap instead of combed cotton and finer shirt-quality fabrics - that do exist, and that are worn by white-collar workers, and are (for obviously valid reasons) indeed preferred by men who are more fashion-conscious (and also gay). Stop fixating on what your boy or girl child likes to wear or play with, or whether s/he seems to be "more of a tomboy" or "more of a sensitive soul." Those are personality traits and they do not need to have anything whatsoever to do with Sexuality, "identity" or subsequent life choices. Intelligent people take their time. No one needs to know everything about what they will live their life as in the first 15 years of existence! And one last thing: some women with limited experience freak out when they see their son born with a very small male organ. They think, "That's it! He's effeminate! He won't be virile! Better turn him into a girl!" Relax, stop freaking out, feed your child a normal healthy diet. Don't stint on the meals! My grandson was born "small" on a 9-pound, full-term baby body. When he was 3, he was tubby, pudgy, everyone was freaking out. Active, healthy appetite, wholesome food, only drank water (no sodas, none of that). I urged caution to everyone who was wringing their hands that he would grow up "an obese, nerdy, geeky kid." Then he hit 12. Literally in a matter of just 2-3 weeks, with no dietary or lifestyle changes at all - just the testosterone kicking in, as I knew it would - he shot up, became tall and lanky, skinny as a rail... and very well-endowed in that department. Embarrassingly so. Now, at 13 and a half, he is a tall, skinny, nerdy, geeky kid with a big appetite. And shy. And that's who he is. Stop freaking out. Do what we did: banish the TV set, if only for some years. Choose your content more carefully. *It is a parent's prerogative and obligation to choose the content that surrounds their child and makes up their home culture. Remember that. It is part of your job as a parent.*

I absolutely agree. We need to take sensible and honest conversations on sexuality away from being taboo or awkward and make them a natural, normal part of human discourse. We are highly sexual beings and that should be reflected in the importance and time we give to talking about these topics. I strongly believe this would be helpful to humanity and mark an important leap forward from the centuries where such discussions were considered shameful, greatly suppressed and even censored.

In 2010 it was estimated 2/3 of published papers are false. It's higher now in my opinion. I read the article and fully agree with the retraction, even when ignoring all bias found. Peer reviewed just means other researchers read a submission and give their opinion. What makes a study reliable is repeatability. I'm not against many things stated, but actually solid and accepted neurobiology articles continue finding physical differences in the brain always present since birth. Unlike orientation that is purely psychological in nature (as far as I know), we now know gender identity is neurological. I'm personally aware of how difficult is to have something published, all fields are unimaginably competitive and incentive to falsify data or mislead with statistics for controversial or groundbreaking results is strong even in my field, Physics, and I don't doubt social sciences, as it's harder to repeat results, have more opportunists and errors in publication, since it is a business after all and success depends on how many people are willing to pay for your content. Any publicity is good publicity, right? haha. I get it, and I even respect this guy for his perseverance despite his past failures. Anyway, my point is that the world has been screwed for as far as any of us can remember and scientific search for truth has turned into effort to dictate truth, as corrupt as politics, maybe because the two are tied together 😂

@@pavols Thank you for making this point about the fact that this is normal for papers not to be basically automatically published. Most people don't understand how research and publishing papers work.
I'm sure the vast majority of people watching the video, some might even have watch like the start and nothing else, left thinking the paper was cancelled and refused because of trans propaganda, because people were disliking the content and conclusions, when the truth is it was not most likely and it's really hard to publish pertinent and really conclusive studies.
An easy example for anybody willing to be realistic and pragmatic on this topic about studies : during the XXs the tobacco industry published a ton of studies "proving" that smoking isn't dangerous for health and/or there is nothing wrong and toxic in their products, in order to create a doubt on whether or not there is something wrong with cigarettes. And it worked.
So next time anybody, who read this comment, sees a study on a topic, consider that its conclusions and findings can be true, but not for sure, and it doesn't give all the answer.
Now, it doesn't mean you can't trust nothing. You can, but cautiously and always try to stay open minded.

I taught adolescents for 27 yrs. Your ROGD is the latest wave of a phenomenon that is universal and timeless. AND would be a great topic for research. Adolescent girls-not all of them and not always- have a strong propensity to group hysteria. I have seen several waves of it during my time teaching. A large % of the teen women were militant lesbians for a couple years. There was a year long wave of ROTS ( rapid onset Tourette’s Syndrome)- which as you might imagine drove us teachers crazy. & if we explore history, there are thousands of examples of similar teengirl hysteria. Your ROGD is just the latest. From my educator perspective, the problem is parental. What the h-e-double toothpicks is wrong with these parents who believe this crap? Look there for your answers. Clearly, there is a parenting style that has led these children to believe this crap. And that same parenting style facilitates their hysteria, while they act out their beliefs in this crap.
And, to be perfectly clear, I have certainly had students who were authentically transgender. I had several students who I was very close to, and loved dearly, who had real deep and profound gender confusion. There is a clear difference between the two groups, those who truly suffered from some gender issues, and the hysterical girls who claim transgenderism. Let’s not throw the baby out with the bathwater.

When you mentioned the MPD diagnosis of the nineties, my jaw dropped. My mother was one of those people. A junk science therapist she had convinced her that she had MPD. However, she had a roaring case of borderline personality disorder instead. All those years of therapy for some thing she didn’t have wreaked havoc on her mind. My mother is a hermit, who basically does not leave the house, and does not have a good relationship with her children. She doesn’t trust therapists anymore, and won’t get treated.

Are you suggesting by comparison that the many thousand years of historical evidence for transgender/third gender people in every society across the globe is mistaken and this was actually all invented by doctors a few years ago?
One of the main issues of the claims of speakers like these is that they are completely disconnected from what is actually happening in medical practice (he did say that he is not a clinician so that's somewhat understandable). Everywhere he suggests a "desire to be a woman" for instance somehow leads to medical treatment is in direct contradiction with the real world.
There were questions about one of my daughter's friends a couple of years ago and after one meeting with the doctor he was very clear ruling out gender dysphoria and that desire (saying "I want to be a boy" or "I wish I was a boy") was immediately disqualifying, and the only thing that could continue down the path to possible diagnosis was consistent and persistent insistence over time (generally multiple years) that they ARE in fact the opposite gender. The entire medical establishment surrounding this is set up to screen out and prevent youths from entering into the medical system, which is why the number of them eventually receiving actual treatment is so so low (less than 1000 per year total)
That's one way to sort out who is actual serious in performing and presenting research on this, that they have some conception of what the actual medical diagnosis is about. Similarly, any doctor making claims like this is operating outside of the bounds of medical practice (likely also selling something) and should have their license challenged.

Always complaining about anger moods and wanting to fight or how depressed they are. one of the reasons you never hear about trans men is they harm the feminist and trans narrative. They are walking examples that women can't handle being men, and because of their instability, substance abuse and high suicide rates also harm the trans movement.

The person, a natal female, who wrote gender queer shows signs of autoandrophilia. She was severely neglected, her mother never taught her about being a girl or woman, her mom neglected her feminine hygiene needs, and the transition to womanhood was severely traumatic for her. She came to despise being a woman but realized she wasn’t a lesbian, but admits she gets aroused by being perceived as a man. It’s a very disturbing book that shouldn’t be in schools. But I feel so bad for her too, she is a very broken person and it’s a painful story to read how she became that way.

I was a weird effeminate kid growing up, and I would have loved a little social status and protection from bullying. I'm so glad I grew up in the time and place I did and not now. I got over it and became a perfectly normal, masculine man. I'm married with three kids, and I ended up enjoying stereotypically masculine things. I'm a perfectly normal man. But if I had grown up with the social influences kids have today, I might very well have believed I was transgender and ruined my body and mind with sick ideologies, drugs, and surgeries. I very likely would have destroyed my life.

Same as you, I was born an effeminate kid, in the same bullying and the lack of social status that you were as a child.
In my case, I began thinking myself to be a girl one day because I'm more emotional and sensitive than my friends, and I lack any sort of physical strength. However, I came to the conclusion that I'd needed to accept both my manly and my feminine side, which ultimately concluded whatever gender transformation I was about to do.
Sorry if my English is bad, I don't usually write comments. But thank you. This gives me hope that one day I'll become a man like you.

This is the first serious work and conversation I have read, studied or listened to and it is wonderful that these people are fighting for the rights of children the way they are. Too many children's lives are being ruined by policies being implemented led by people or psychologists who have no idea what they are talking about and so make assertions in a desperate attempt to find answers led by emotion when they have none because the truth is they have no idea. I would recommend that it is looked into that children are being abandoned by parents in their job of following their child's development and correcting their mistakes in their early ages, be they mistakes in understanding the world they are learning from or mistakes in understanding their emotions and what those emotions mean in correlation with their understanding of the world, just as they would correct their child if their child wished to put their hand in a flame because they are attracted to it. White flies are caught by using light to attract them then catch them in nets. They have an attraction to light, but no one or nothing to teach them that just because you like something, it does not mean your response should be to approach it if to do so would produce a negative outcome. Children of human beings should not be left in the position or vulnerability we see associated with these white flies they should have parents whose job is to observe and guide them early and lightly, but yet parents in the West are encouraged to abandon this responsibility and even made to feel like they are abusing their child if they do this while other cultures take up that responsibility. The truth is, just because you are attracted to something it does not mean that there is only one way to enjoy it and when selecting how you enjoy it, it you should consider the most healthy way to enjoy it. There are things you are attracted to through logic and things you are attracted, things you are attracted to by instinct and things that you are attracted to by emotion and then there are reactions to this attraction that take place through logic. reactions through instinct and reaction through emotion, but the end result must be positive because we are human, not white flies and so have a more sophisticated and intelligent and natural process of moving forward that assures us a better ability to survive than the white fly. This process we use as human beings on these matters takes place in guiding our children in their family life sand cultural surroundings in their understanding of the world from an early age and how they should respond to their attractions, but is being deprived of children by parents who have abandoned their responsibilities, do not understand their duties and responsibilities any more or are accused of abusing their children if they do so and policies laid out by governments to encourage that end. The result is that like white flies attracted to light with no guidance to stay away, children are being left abandoned to respond to what may attract them in a way that achieves a negative end and even encouraged by lies that a negative end does not exist and wonderful things will be found ahead of them which is in fact an act of abuse on the child. For example, a child that is a boy that likes the colour blue and so begins insisting their shoes must be blue, the drinks they buy must be blue, their wall paper must be blue their everything must be blue, can simply be told by his father, 'My son, I like blue too, but it does not mean everything I have must be blue, I enjoy blue from a distance, just looking at it.' And the boy will understand and take the necessary action themselves to deal with their attraction to the colour blue in a different way and be happy and even thankful to their father for doing this, but also feel loved by their father and feel closer to their father for helping them understand how they should be dealing with their attraction to blue. This has been eradicated from the experience of a child's upbringing in the family and in social and cultural surroundings in the West, but is something that is built in the instinctive habits of the families of other cultures and in the habits of their societies and how they construct their cultural surroundings aware that these must contribute to the healthy life experience of children found in the home and family. The dismantling of this in the West led by psychologists and their influence on government policy that with honesty are incapable of doing their jobs is harming children in the West and their development to be adults during the family experience of their upbringing, and so has how government policies they influence have affected this family experience. Peace and love

As a sexual abused child (started at age six), I had a terrible relationship with my body going through puberty. I wanted to cut my breasts off or at least hide them. I was literally asking my mom how to make them disappear or how to rope them to become invisible.
For decades I was hiding my body through XL clothes having size S. Thank God I grew up as a teenager in the 90s, were I used to listen to grunge music a lot, later in my early twenties got help from several therapists who gently listened to my story and helped me to heal my sexual abuse trauma and I choose to do the uncomfortable body work necessary for healing.
It took me years to learn how to feel comfortable in my female body. Like really comfortable.
Imagine my life today, nobody would have listened to the hidden fact that I was severely abused for years and how my family failed to protect me but they would have just tried to cure "the symptoms" of turning me into a male without breasts, because I was so scared of what will happen to me when I grew into a full woman . 😮
Now at age 46, I know the data of sexual violence against children, 20 % of of female children have experienced sexual trauma in western countries and will have severe troubles going through puberty!
And we know as well that transgender people have a lot of comorbid psychological issues that should be treated first 😅.
I am so happy for the 90s allowing me to get through all my personal struggles on my own pace, with listening to music and hanging out with people who didn't have happy childhoods neither, we supported each other, later I got help from trauma experts and again later I accidentally met a yoga teacher in India, who didn't know anything about me but worked with me a few days and then told me what happened to me and how he can help me to unblock it because trauma is stuck in the body. I was flabbergasted when he answered to my question how he knew that I had asthma and sexual trauma and was almost killed and he was like "I am not a trained psychological person but I was ten years assistant to Iyengar, we heal bodies and ailments show themselves in the body, I can read the signs in your body". After four weeks I made again major progress.
Therapy was good but Yoga helped me to heal the trauma from my body, Nowadays Bessel van de Kolk says exactly that.
My teacher helped me with body exercise to fight the anxiety, the pain, the panic, the cramps, the lack of deep breathing, the always being alert and never relax or let my guard down and my sleep problems. And on top he told me to keep away from "Gurus" who prey on people like me. He explained to me unfortunately many yoga teachers are predators as well.
Sometimes you got traumatized and then amazing people help you to heal as well. ❤
I don't believe that pushing children and teens into puberty blockers instead of riding out their struggles is helping them.

This has been on my thoughts as well. How many girls feel uncomfortable in their bodies due to very early sexualisation by the rest of society? Giving children puberty blockers should, in theory, give the child, doctors and parents time to figure this out before any drastical measurements are taken. Now, I still believe a person claiming to be the other sex from a very young age, such as three or four, is transgender and should be given all the help.

Adolescence is a tough time. As a tomboy who despised girly stuff or being forced into pink clothing, I think a better approach is to stop gendering clothes and toys for boys and girls, be tolerant of differences, stop the bullying of different people, make sure no sexual abuse has been a part of the child’s life - many other common sense approaches. I think puberty is gender dysphoric by its nature. Just growing hair in private places was traumatic for me and that happens for boys and girls. I never wanted to be a boy or have a penis and I’ve never been sexually attracted to women. I went into a STEM field and was a tomboy and have a healthy sex life with my male husband. As a young adult, being gay became more accepted and I wondered if people would have pushed me in that direction if I’d been born 10 years later. Now I wonder if I’d been born 30 years later that people would have thought I was transgender and how that might have influenced me during puberty.
I don’t think the government should legislate medical or psychiatric practices, but I think that standards for open investigation and study need to be embraced by the medical and psychological/psychiatric professions.

Regarding the comment about sissy hypno porn, actually a lot of porn addicts describe how their habits of consumption changes over time, pushing them towards increasingly more taboo and unconventional subject matters. This has to do with the changes to the brain chemistry and that the addict craves novel experiences in order to get that sense of mindless arousal.
In Gary Wilson's famous talk about what happens to the brain when watching porn he describes some users said they ended up only being able to get off to gay porn even though they were straight and didn't find men attractive. Others ended up in darker and more taboo subjects. So to me it's not surprising that sissy/hypno porn is growing. It might just appeal to some addicts who have ended up too far into the deep end of things.

I do have to object to "autism is over diagnosed" comment. I used to believe this, but I learned something that changed my mind. Back in 2003, my son became a T1 diabetic. As I dove down the rabbit hole, I found out that there was a connection between autism, celiac disease (which he also dealt with), and autism. The connection between this trifecta greatly interested me.
When I saw the increase in autism rates, I was very skeptical and decided to dig into that. Knowing that there was a connection between autism and T1D, I looked at T1D rates across decades, by country. Then I compared these rates with autism. My idea was that T1D cannot be missed. If you don't diagnose it, you end up with a dead kid and it's still discovered at the autopsy. There is no 'accidentally over-diagnosing' of T1D. If there was a real trend of increasing autism, there'd be a correlating increase with T1D.
The charts between T1D and autism matched perfectly, nation by nation, over the decades, for all but third world countries where such documentation was sparse before the 1990's in some places.
Somehow our kids are being damaged badly. This has happened across all western nations and the less developed countries are on track to catch up. I don't know if it's vaccines, herbicide exposure, microplastics, an improper diet, malnutrition, outgassing of our carpets, a combination of all those things, or something else we haven't imagined; but something is very wrong.

I would love to see a study that analyzes the mental health of children according to the amount of social media consumption. Although you might not be able to find any children who don't consume social media as a comparison group. It seems obvious, it's generally not great for social-emotional development.

Exactly. My daughter was adopting every mental disorder that you can find a Wikipedia article on. She pulled the “they/them” card and wanted us to call her by a different name (which I think she chose because of an animated show she enjoyed) - I didn’t just say no, I said hell no.
Reality is a thing, and adults (especially parents) are supposed to be the gatekeepers.
I am cautiously optimistic that she is growing out of this phase. And yes, all this began with the onset of puberty (which sucks for EVERYONE) plus I was in the Army Reserves and was deployed to the Middle East for a year. Oh, and at the worst possible time - during COVID 😖
It’s not rocket science. Don’t let your kids dictate reality. They WANT boundaries and they want to know that adults will keep them safe, even if they kick and scream. The minimum parenting standard is to keep your children from permanently damaging themselves.

I feel like this is close to the "looping effect" theory. When someone is being classified into a certain group, that knowledge of the concept of the classification affects the people in the group, thereby changing its classification itself. Similar to how anorexia suddenly grew in Hong Kong when it was introduced in the early 1990s, or sudden increase in the suicide rate when western version of depression was conceptualized in Japan in the late 1990s with the introduction of anti-depressants. This is merely a hypothesis that has not be fully proven, but is one of the plausible causes or one component of the causes of the mental disorders today.

@@ifluxionI agree. Gender dysphoria has now become the "template" young ppl are using to show their mental distress. When I was young it was anorexia and then cutting and self harming became the "thing." Now its this gender stuff. I feel like this has provided a way for young ppl to package their pain in a neat, recognisable way so that doctors and parents will see it and acknowledge it, (although that's not a conscious thought process.)
I also feel that the pornification of society is a factor for girls transitioning. They want romance and boyfriends and instead see porn everywhere. Everyone is viewing it and many girls are hugely uncomfortable about what they think they will be expected to do, so they flee womanhood, or call themselves asexual or that theyre into girls.
In my day pornography was more regulated, far less was legal and effort had to be made to procure it. Adults understood that most women were not going to be as willing to do what porn stars would and would watch things that they would maybe enjoy but would not expect their wives to do.
With the advent of the Internet kids were able to access a stream of pornographic material, the "vanilla" content mixed in with really unpleasant niche material and they are too young to know what is normal and what is in fact "niche." This has led them to believe that practices like choking and violence during sex is very normal and we see that in research showing among young ppl hitting and choking during sex has risen sharply.
No wonder teenage girls are opting out.

What I know is that men overrepresents homosexuals, bisexual, and transsexual population. If you look at the dating market, men experience far more difficulty in finding a date than women do. In many modern societies, I remember the statistics to be around 50% of men not finding a date at early twenties, 30% of women not finding a date at early twenties or something close to that. If I borrow your theory, the amount of Gender Dysphoria could be proportional to the amount of availability of dates, or lack thereof.

I have a young niece (almost 14), who has struggled with some serious mental health issues (& early childhood trauma) for years. At a point prior to the pandemic, when she was about 10 and had started experiencing some symptoms of early puberty, she suddenly started sharing that she was experiencing gender dysphoria, and thought she might be a boy, started social transitioning, changed her name, etc… This happened within a school atmosphere where her peers & school counselors heavily encouraged and touted the transgender ideology (to the point where anyone identifying as trans or non-binary was celebrated).
We all listened and accepted her and what she told us (which sounded largely like parroted speech of the transgender community). This continued until the pandemic forced her to start completing her coursework at home. Then, amazingly and magically over the course of the next few years, as she grew into her female pubescent hormones in a loving home environment, removed from the social pressures she was experiencing at school, she no longer had any gender dysphoria. It’s simply gone. She describes being happy now in her female body, and says she knows who she is. We should not discount the heavy influence that social spheres have on children.

I have Asperger's Syndrome which they now call autism in part out of confusion. I completely agree that it is now increasingly vague and over diagnosed. I have seen many people that appear to be faking it. In particular, I have noticed among females in my personal experience some years ago that many of those claiming to have ASD or AS clearly have some other condition instead. There are two cases where it looked like BDP was a better fit. There is another case where the condition appears to be related instead to trauma. The problem with AS is that from its inception it was based on looking at kids on the boundary or in the grey area. It's a far more subtle condition than people realise and it's not even necessarily a problem in all cultures.
It depends on the social demands and social protocols. In a society that is more socially strict in particular demanding conformance to something such as the mean then suddenly people who were a bit different or that could function normally before become disabled. This subtly allows for a great deal of abuse. It's very easy to fake having AS at least in so far as being able to get through a diagnosis. Many conditions are difficult to truly diagnose without prolonged or extensive observation of it at its worst. I've always had very significant problems socially and eventually came across AS. I've checked everything else for a best fit. Other people approach this differently. It's about the type of person they want to be rather than figuring out the kind of person that they actually are. AS is seen as a cool condition to have. If someone actually had it, they would likely regret it.
I should also note that AS is in reality the least of my problems. I grew up in genuinely harsh conditions. In respect to any psychological maladies I might have picked up or have been primed for a hostile environment is the greater of contributors. I grew up in destitution in one of the worst estates in the entire country. It ended up being a failed experiment. They literally demolished the entire estate and rebuilt it. Things such as domestic violence and then a broken family exert a toll. AS isn't something that started to become obvious until I was in better circumstances. AS is so borderline, pretty much by definition that it's very rare for being unusually different to simplify it to present as a problem in and off itself or on its own. The vast amount of people going for AS diagnosis, even if they do have some difficulties that can legitimately be considered AS it's very unlikely to be that alone. AS itself was first recognised by Hans Asperger in particularly trying circumstances.
Although AS is subtle there are tells when people are faking it. I will just like any other realistic person applying their intellect question AS as well as how accurate diagnosis and definition is. When someone tells me that I'm doing something wrong because I should therefore be on the side of AS having AS and being AS then I immediately suspect that they're AS. The notion of being on team AS or something like that is highly social. That's collectivist. AS is a condition where if you were to summarise it the best you could then it would be best described as being hyper individualistic. Failing that more asocial than normal. I'll question someone else's AS diagnosis then someone will say how could I do that because they are like me and the same or something or rather such as how would I like to have my diagnosis questioned. It's all nonsense of course. By definition of AS there is no team AS.
This can easily be related to egotistical though it's a mistake to assume that they are the same. AS is more like just being yourself more than other people are. For example, I don't care as much what people think if they think wrong where are people closer to the mean tend to adhere more to the potential misjudgement or misinterpretation or miscomprehension of others. Hyper social people on the opposite end of the scale which is extremely pathological will equivocate and then blame you if they misinterpret! AS tends to consist of less regard for others who are egotistical. Most people whether they realise it or not socially function in accordance to others and in particular those who are most egotistical. A defining feature of AS is not giving a damn. If you think this throw then it becomes clear that AS is a relative condition. You can have a strict society that is petty and makes a fuss about small things. Then you have AS. You can have a liberal society that doesn't care about pointless things and in that society there is no such condition as AS. Think of it like this, in a world of light whether you have a torch or not makes no difference.

I don't understand why men don't receive the Bpd diagnosis, I've seen many emotionally unstable dudes so there's no way none of them have it. I mean, what's the ratio. I think in many cases bpd is a BS diagnosis, they much more likely have complicated issues stemming from (for example) getting bullied at school, feeling rejected by the opposite gender, having a narcissistic parent, being overprotected, not being allowed to show all kinds of emotions (including anger), poverty and alcoholism at home, d3ath in the family that was never really "discussed", misogynistic attitudes towards women from male relatives, moving from one place to another or even from one country to another (how can you remain stable when you don't know where your true home is, constantly having to adapt).. a chronically ill parent etc. I don't think it's just one thing, usually there's like a mixture of issues completely messing with the person's development... oh and of course, religious trauma.

Interesting! I was born in the mid seventies in a Scandinavian country, and always felt it was easier to be a girl (like me) than to be a boy. The boys were expected to be brave and strong and do things that were risky, and they had to suppress fear, grief and sadness. I felt I was allowed to do all the same things as the boys, but without the same level of expectations (I could always play the "girl card" if I didn't want to do something that was exhausting or risky, and some male would step in and do it for me even if I was just being lazy or a "scaredy cat", and no one would blame me) - and I was more free to express feelings.
However, when I reached my late teens something shifted, and there were suddenly more expectations for me to take care of aunts, grandparents and children in the family - and I saw that the young men in the family did not face the same expectations. For them it was all about education and career, and they were much more free to just do whatever they wanted - and not take responsibility - without being blamed as "selfish".

@@mailill I think for many, myself included, it may stem from a fear of assault. I think this also depends a lot on the type of experiences one has, if one feels safe or not. I think women who lean more towards feeling unsafe might be more likely to wish they weren't women, since they may see it as a risk factor. At least that's how I have felt a lot in my life, often being afraid of assault and avoiding going out at night, avoiding many situations. Which is because of my own experiences, where I lived, what I saw and heard, things like this combined.
I do agree with what you say about males often being pressured to show less emotion, to be more brave and such. I think both genders experience challenges in their own way.

      @mailill 9 місяців тому +3

@@miraieditsYes, the fear of assault that you describe is very relatable. I still have that sometimes, unfortunately, even as a middle aged woman. Still, I guess I always had the impression that boys were not that much safer. It actually seemed to me that they were much more in danger of experiencing violence (sometimes severe) from other boys. And up to a certain age they were also much weaker than adults, and also vulnerable. That being said, I was painfully aware of my own lack of physical strength compared to boys and not to speak of grown men.
I remember training karate as a 12-year old and learning how to get away from somebody's grip, and my step brother who was the same age as me delighted in having me try out those tricks with him - and of course they never worked (even though I could do 40 push-ups on my knuckles at that time. Because even at that age he was soooooo much stronger than me (I guess he had "strong genes", as his father was a body builder, but still). When the karate instructors started to teach us how to defend ourselves against weapons, I quit, because I knew that was bs and wouldn't work.
The only thing that has ever protected me (as I am not a fast runner, and don't want to create a chase) is my ability to talk to and "befriend" and "de-escalate" aggressors (learned by dealing with semi-aggressive males, I guess). Or maybe it was just pure luck.

If you vote for them, they will help those people get the rights. Of course the people that want the rights also vote for them. They do this with many different topics. They got gay people the rights they didn't have. I feel they needed a new group to champion so then they started trying to get transgender people rights.
Believe it or not, they are even going to eventually try to get rights for pedophiles. (This is my prediction that I called in the 80s.) Pedophiles are now saying they should be able to molest a child if the child says they are okay with it. They groom the kid so the kid goes along with it.
This may even be part of the reason they want to get kids confused about sexuality. Then they will be easier for pedophiles to make them victims.

I had gender dysphoria. It is a survival mechanism from trauma. It can happen subliminally in the minds of children who unwittingly get the message that their authentic biological sex and the cultural expectations that come with it somehow threaten the attachment relationship with one or more of their caregivers. It happens when that role is at odds within a toxic family structure.
As humans we are extremely dependent on our caregivers. We are wired for attachment. Anything about ourselves that threatens that attachment will be suppressed. It’s a survival mechanism. Other mammals that can walk as soon as they’re born aren’t as dependent but we as humans can’t even crawl that early and as a result we are biologically programmed this way.
This isn’t talked about in the mainstream and therefor many kids grow up confused and bullied for it which only emboldens their false beliefs about who they are and makes them more resistant to anything contrary to the pro transition narrative.
It took me years to connect the dots in my life. The way it showed up for me (in a nutshell / can show up for different reasons in others) was by having a mother who was abused and sexually harassed so much by men that she would demonstrate that hatred in many ways such as (for example) making a big deal out of a movie scene with female nudity. Not covering my eyes like most parents might do as in I’m "not allowed to see this yet" kind of thing but instead by talking out loud about how disgusting and shameful men are for wanting to see this and having a total meltdown over it. Which is understandable given her life experiences but yet very toxic to me her son. I’m not blaming her. How could she have known?
I then (key word) subliminally started associating being a man with something that would threaten my relationship with the most important person in my life and had no idea why it was happening to me. When I heard trans people talk about their experiences with gender dysphoria for the first time and many times after, I was shocked at how similar they clearly felt to me. I started dressing and acting more and more androgynously as it became more and more apparent that I was becoming a man. I rejected it with everything I had and suffered the consequences of ruthless bullying in which only made me even more militant about my lgbt identity.
Now that I know the truth, I am so glad I never took hormones or did anything drastic or life ruining to myself. Now I am a confident adult man who continues to do the trauma work that has helped me virtually eradicate this problem.
I find it very sad to see how many people are lead down the wrong path, especially these days, and even more sad that I have been labeled as transphobic for speaking out about what I have learned from my experience.
I would even venture to say that these experiences were huge reasons why my romantic and sexual attractions developed in the way that they did. I don’t think there is any gene responsible for this. It’s totally a trauma based toxic social environment kind of thing that manifests these issues as made more evident by the many stories I have listened to from others. Much of that toxicity having been so normalized to the person that they don’t even realize what has actually happened to them. So when you hear someone say, "well I had no trauma, why am I trans". All you need to do is have someone who knows what kind of questions to ask them, and the truth always comes out.

You mean it was for you.
      I wasn't abused.

@@amandavieira2543 You don't have to be abused in some very obvious way to be traumatized. It doesn't take much for a child to disconnect from themselves in various different ways to survive their childhood. You probably read the first sentence of my post and saw the word "trauma" and immediately assumed you knew what I was even talking about.

Oh and it isn’t a “belief” to know that we are a byproduct of our environment.
