I have had some wonderful friendships and I appreciate this. Since, Sojourning I met up with a new friend while volunteering at Adult Daycare at Salvation Army and worked with here for 3 days, I believe. She has been faithful to pray for me and believe in my Destiny and be so encouraging. It hasn't been an easy time for her these days either. I guess it gets confusing coz the Bible also says to "Rejoice Always"... It's very common for Christians to put on a face, or their "church face" ,to Represent to outsiders....but, I guess when it comes to being a True Reflection, there is no pretending or ...Representing..since, it's all about Reflecting and dying to ourselves to become more like Jesus.
We all are Learning in this Life-Long- Process and journey.
I would love to find it in in a church, so far they have mostly been fair weathered.

Many have learned to put up guards, shields to protect themselves as they've been done wrong many times. Over time, it becomes a way of life. Then look to God to fill the voids. Yet, never know God put it to people to unite and do good. Taken advantage of, stepped on, disregarded, disrespected, etc. Some get married for this same thing, then find it is not in marriage either. Thus the dysfunctional marriages.
Then some are so ideological, they abide by strict ideas where they get rigid and do not realize everyone has their predisposition to certain sins.
Some of it may be cultural. I've seen a few places where it's cultural. Bible Belt. Some quickly irritable.
Then some discourage emotions. Especially for guys. It's more of militant ideology conducive to tough mentality.
Some been exposed to jackasses, etc., Etc.
Now Iive the folks at my church, I just had too many issues.
Which I'd like to hear from you as this is an issue and it takes a process to heal. Change starts with you is a true saying. I initiated such, dropping barriers and such, it conflicts with social ideologies some, but it's how you do it. I'm Eastern Orthodox, but I've known those called bad, but few are really bad as in rotten, so many just adapted to life how it wuz.
Shared hardships brings bonding, look at combat vets. Having fun, which churches never seem to make provisions to bring these things together.
But you is correct.
Now some folks just do not mix.
Yet, it'd be good to speak with you, as you are right.
Oh, conflict and contention are things some like too, which we're to avoid.
Also, there's many that desire an answer rather than truth.
Anyway have a good one.
Yet, you could iniate acts to bring things together, where it starts with you. Which can stimulate others. It can be hard though. Some are very resistant. Still theres others that are saboteurs very dysfunctional, where they'll deliberately mess something up, something like jealousy or something you have to be aware of.
Oh, I should say some things are only a get together. Yet, the faith requires applying the whole faith. Look at children how they look for social interaction.
But, there's so many that do another wrong, where after awhile, defense sea are built up and very strong. Thing is, those that enjoy doing others wrong, some have good social skills where they attract those that are of benefit and discard the rest. Which they recognize lonely types which get shafted enough, walls can be built high a D fortified.
