It also replaces the just actually poisonous ingredients, like void mayonnaise and pufferfish. Though in some cases, like the strawberry Pink Cake, it's definitely more a cookbook than a peak into the world of Stardew Valley.
Told my grandma about the cookbook and that i wanted it, and she ordered it on Amazon that day and had it shipped to my house. I love the recipes. Made my dad the complete breakfast for fathers day and he loved it. Every now and then my parents will ask me to make them the pancakes and compote from it.
The base recipe for the bun can be very versatile as you can switch out the lobster and garlic mayo filling with something like ube whip cream instead! The bun includes brown sugar as a base in it as well so it compliments any sweet addition.
The in game recipe is a type of snail and black mayonnaise that makes you sick. It does have a cute sprite but when shane sent me the recipe it made a lot more sense why shadow people always have them
They should've got inspiration from the fallout cook book, which absolutely phenomenal; they made it, so you think someone from a vault dweller wrote it which gives that much character. I absolutely recommend it
How would they implement something like that though? Stardew is in a modern setting with (mostly) realistic stuff, that fallout stuff seems cool but unless the dwarf or shadow people made the book its hard to give it a strong theme or personal aspect 😅
You have to put it into real life perspective and also people that don’t know the game can pick this up and make it and you expect them to know what “void mayo” is?
Another thing that bugs me due to personal reasons is the fruit salad. The recipe instructs you to cook white wine down to a syrup (I think it's a syrup idk) but I'm too scared bc what if I don't cook the alcohol out 😭 pls help, what's a good alternative for this??
Pour the alcohol into a smoking hot pan to start. The alcohol will get burned off instantly. You can also look for an alcohol-free wine- they're relatively common since a lot of people don't like having alcohol in their food.
Alcohol will evaporate when you cook any alcoholic beverage. That's why there's no laws against people under 21 eating beer battered food or any other food that uses an alcoholic beverage to cook
Who wants to tell them that void chickens aren't real?
whoh whoh whoh... really?
I refuse to believe that I can’t have emo chickens
I MEAN CHICKEN 😭 BLACK CHICKEN YOU CAN GOOGLE IT. ITS ALL BLACK EVEN TO THEIRS EYES, CLAWS AND MEAT AND BONES.
racist mfs
@@cozyrinnIf only the Cemani Chickens actually make black eggs
That's the first thing I noticed when I started looking through it, it replaces the harder to find items with more convenient and common items
It also replaces the just actually poisonous ingredients, like void mayonnaise and pufferfish. Though in some cases, like the strawberry Pink Cake, it's definitely more a cookbook than a peak into the world of Stardew Valley.
@@chaosstripe9446 Isn't the void mayonnaise supposed to be a very garlicky mayo in the cookbook
Imagine my surprise when I saw the strange bun and realized it wasn’t a sweet treat, but an ocean dinner.
theprophecybear: there are no lobsters in the recipe!!!
me: LOBSTERS IN A BUN?!?!?
Lobster and garlic mayo
Yeah a lot of cultures eat lobster with or in buns
It is quite strange
@@Blakethedino thats chill and all but no way im eating that
Well it is a strange bun... Did you expect custard?

Fictional and rl are different bro 😂
There is such a thing as "virgin" piña colada you know...
Wow it’s almost as if they don’t mention at the start of the book some recipes are altered! Shocker
I feel like lobster is a close enough substitute for periwinkle
Waiting for mine to come in and i cant wait to make something and be able to tell someone where i got the recipe from
Yeah strange bun really through me off, i always assumed it was a dessert with ube in it
FR the strange bun was always my fave in the game bc it's so cute and looks sweet but the recipe ruined it 😭 ew

It's a universal hate you know... It didn't seem like a sweet treat 😂😂😂
I mean it has a periwinkle in it in the game, which makes it into seafood, and most people don't like it.
damn it this cook book doesn’t say i should put a prismatic shard in my dish 😤

@bryanroberts7703 I honestly don't know, maybe some recipes from your grandpa or something...
Chocolate Cake recipe = Strange Bun recipe confirmed?
(most of) The village loves strange buns confirmed?
1.7 needs cacao beans to let us make chocolate.
Right?! It'd be so cool!
Definitely the recipes if they were in real life, but I definitely can't wait to try some of them
Chocolate cake without chocolate
Wow
I honestly get the piña colada one cause some adults put alcohol in it and for the kids there’s no alcohol, kinda like coquito
Yeah. I'm too sober to read this cookbook xD
I just ordered the cookbook and im hyped
Its a GAME
Pretty depressing crossover with reality tbh
Oh no! The cook book ment to make real edible food has recipes that make real food instead of the nonsense recipes of stardew valley!
