There’s a reason most people stay clear of singers like Anita Baker, they’re really difficult to pull off! You have to hit enough of the tricky vocal nuances without sounding like you”re a cheap imitation. Bel and HSCC hit this one out of the park! ❤ congratulations

One of those performances that makes you tear up.
It's about time that Bel got a chance to sing the lead. She certainly did not disappoint and she had a wonderful rendition of Anita Baker's classic song. She puts her heart and soul into every song she sings and has a tremendous amount of charisma while doing so. I always enjoy seeing and hearing her sing. She's a great asset and underrated part of the group.

Wow, wow, WOW! Great musicians and Bel is out of this world. My goodness, can she ever sing. She is more natural than natural. Superb is the only word that comes close to describing how well she sang this song, which is one of my favorites.
Anita Baker is amongst the top 10 female vocalists of all time in my view, and this is my favorite song in her catalog. It really sounds fantastic on my system, old school Marantz/Klipsch stuff. HSCC...you have nailed this, brought it to life in a very magic way, and I love it. Once again tight musicianship combined with a gifted lead singer and on track backups bring a special song to life again...and the sax...wow.
Listening and watching a couple more times just have to say...the very best lead vocalists make singing sound (and look) so dang effortless...Kat, Pina, every lady who has stood at the lead mic for HSCC has had this gift...and now we add Bel Martinez to that incredible list..

First heard Anita Baker way back in the 80s on a London soul show and though her voice and songs were exceptional. This is a great version and arrangement of one such song. Superb. I didn't think it could be done with Anita Baker, but this really does justice to the original while making it new as well. The pianist knows those jazz chords and knows how to capture the frame of the chord enough to be heard without displacing the rest. And Bel's performance really exceeded expectations. Bravo.

I'm a HUGE Anita Baker fan and I was VERY skeptical and reluctant to listen to a cover band perform such a great song because so many bands destroy these great old songs. I was wrong. This band is amazing! Not just one artist but THE WHOLE MUSICAL GROUP. Their jazzy soulful sound made me love this song all over again. I find myself playing their version all the time! I love Anita Baker but this puts another twist to a wonderful song much like Carly Simon's version of the Dooby Brother's song You Belong To Me. Nice work guys and gal! You did a great job!!!! Hope you continue to get the recognition you deserve.
