    I applaud you in your efforts to demonstrate how to make a screen. I will give you some additional information and perhaps you can make another video with some revisions. In that particular type of window it would be advantageous to insert tension sliding springs on the top of the window screen and pull tabs in the bottom. This way your screen fit snug and with the addition of the pull tabs removal is a breeze... The tool that you are using is a screen roller with one end being convex and the other being concave. Essentially this is intended to screen in a much thicker screen such as a 80 or 90 % polyester or fiberglass solar screen as in these cases a tool with both convex and concave features are necessary. The rubber that you see in this what appears to be a 3/4 inch aluminum frame is what we refer to as spline. There are several sizes of spline such as 103,115,125,140 this depends on the with of the channel on the frame. For example i like to use a 103 easy to fit spline on my 1 inch by 5/16 aluminum frame. You should never cut the spline in the frame rather take it out. You will eventually have to do this anyway. Siccors is what you might use to cut the spline after it is properly fit into the screen. I would highly recommend not to cut with the sharp edge of the utility blade towards the screen as you may inadvertently cut the fresh screen you just assembled. Instead cut or trim away with the blade pointing towards the aluminum frame. It is always a better idea to screen roll with the tool towards you rather than away from you. If you need any more advice please feel free to message me . Thank you and job well done

    I used to make screens at a hardware store I worked for and the roller we used was made out of steel with ball bearing in the wheel. The ones they sell now don't work anything like professional tools do. We never used plastic screen material. Only aluminum or some kind of unknown metal for gold screens or doors

    I had a really good idea how to do this honey dew project. But, I did learn something from this video that being, the best way to roll the screen into the frame is starting from the middle. Main reason for the comment and subscribe is it took me until pretty much the end of the video to notice the glock that's on your hip🤘👊(I think it's a glock but I could be wrong)..

    • @9252LIFE

      Good eye. Yes Glock. I’ve now switched from the 40 cal to the G20 Gen 5 10mm.

    • @the_dirty_wizard1509
      @the_dirty_wizard1509 7 місяців тому

      @9252LIFE I used to have a glock 19 Gen 5. Before I bought it, I did a ton of research and the reasons why I decided to go with glock because I couldn't find a bad review with it, and supposedly 9mm is the most common and used bullet around the world. But I bought it at like the worst time, right before Biden became president, all the stores around here couldn't keep any ammo didnt matter what caliber on the shelf, and 9mm was 1 of 2 of the fastest selling cal ammunition around here And of course, the gun I bought before the glock was an AR....so there i was. I had these two amazing firearms that I could pretty much only look at. before the ammo situation got any better, somebody stole my pistol from out of my pickup. Fuck, I loved that pistol.

    You should of explained the rollers the rounded one is to press the screen in the groove on the frame and the roller with the curved edge is to roll the rubber into the groove to hold the screen in ! That is how i learned before they had those cheap synthectic screen material back even before the had the aliminium srcreen ! I was taught by ace hardware back iun the late 70's !

    The only thing I don't like about those kits is the spline is in 4 pieces instead of one continuous piece. I'll buy the spline (be certain you get the right diameter, there are a few different sizes) and use it instead. Home Depot has some killer online how to videos I think by Phifer. If you buy the frame in 6 ft lengths you get it for less than $5 a piece per window (a 20 pack). You're cutting it anyway so it saves you some money. You can buy the corners and other parts in bulk if you're doing all your windows and get each window down to about 3/4 what the kits cost. But for one window you really can't beat the kit.
