The kit built "Experimental Light Sport Aircraft" (E-LSA) version of the RV-12 could only be used if you could get the FAA to issue a Letter of Deviation (good luck with that), but the factory built "Special Light Sport Aircraft" (S-LSA) version can be used as is, because it is certified.

Actually, an E-LSA (Experimental Light Sport) RV-12 can be used for flight training as long as there is no business transaction (money, trading, etc.) for the use of the airplane. I.E., an owner of the airplane can hire a flight instructor to teach them to fly in their airplane. An S-LSA version can be used commercially for flight training. There are quit a few flight schools and college flight training programs using them.
What type of camera and mount did you use to shoot this video? I'm having a hell of a time recording video in light aircraft without horrible jitter (and this is with a camera that has image stabilization.)
Not sure if it is my internet, but the resolution is pretty low. Nice production of the video. It is most enjoyable despite my poor resolution. Good audio.
RV8…. The best aircraft I’ve ever owned. Best I’ve ever flown.
Fantastic demo, thanks for taking the time!
Beautiful demonstration of a beautiful aircraft. What about keeping the mike on so we can hear what it sounds like?

Can you get your IFR checkride in one of these?

I think this video was shot with the first generation Gopro.
