Just realized this was the first video of Joe’s that I ever watched while searching for videos of the GB outdoor axe. Here I am a few months later (after watching a good portion of Joe’s videos) planning my first solo primitive camping trip. Thanks for the inspiration Joe!
Joe I have to say this was one of the best videos on UA-cam I bought my new bruks axe, Went outside Did exactly what you did in the video for the 1st time my family was watching and laughing at me After a couple of tries I created fire for the 1st time with my ax in fire steel So I figured I wanna share my glory with a person that would appreciate it lol. please keep these videos coming I learned a lot.
Hey, Joe. I bought this axe recently, it's a fine tool and a pleasure to use. So light! Here's a tip: Attach the axe to your belt by the sheath strap as shown in the Axe Book that comes with every GB axe, then slide the end of the handle into the axe pocket on your Fjallraven's . The axe is held securely, doesn't flop around and moves with your leg, it's really comfortable, give it a try - I swear this is how that little pocket was intended to be used! Love your videos
Gotta love shepherds. I can't shovel snow without mine thinking every shovel load I toss is something for her. She always listens though. Found this and the sharpening video incredibly valuable. Thanks, Joe.
Nice vid Joe. I'm always looking for new ways to get a fire. Can't wait to try it this weekend. I was going to ask for a sharpening video so I was very glad to hear your making one. Keep up the good work.
I like your videos you do well recording your adventures ... Last week i ordered a Gransfors Bruk ax after watching you and several others using them... Figured i should have a top line ax added ..
Great stuff, Joe. Keep it up. My brother and I went on our first camping trip recently. 5 days in the Porcupine Mountains. Your videos helped, for sure.
Thank you for this video, I really want that little axe. I have found a supplier and it's just under $250 AU. I think it's worth the price after watching your video. Keep them coming. Cheers from Australia.
It is absolutely worth every penny! I carry mine since 2014 and it's the only axe I use. I made a whole lean to shelter using only the outdoor axe. Lars Fält definitely knows what it takes to desing an axe.
Dont know if anyone gives a damn but if you're stoned like me during the covid times you can watch pretty much all of the latest series on InstaFlixxer. Have been binge watching with my girlfriend for the last months :)
Looking forward to your next video. I just got an Adventure sworn knife and she is so beautiful. I am little nervous on using my new knife, because I am not the best knife sharpener on a convex edge.
I love seeing Scout standing there eagerly grinning like "You're cutting sticks just for ME??" lol Man, if you just had a harness for him with a couple of loops, let him drag two logs back for you every trip you take back to camp carrying firewood... : )
Great demo Joe. It never hurts to cover basics again and again. There are no short cuts to fire preparation.... unless it is a who armload of birch bark :)
A really miss scout, a was gutted when u posted the vid about him, and his last camp was a great vid, my dog has cancer and she is just taking it on the chin, and not letting it bother her, she is fn awesome dog a will defo miss her when she go's, my next dog will be a German shepherd
