I know you are in a lot of pain, emotionally and physically. Watch out for the opiates. I'm happy to see you out working through the injury in your favorite space, outdoors.
Came to say this also, you start to feel like them meds are your good friend helping you out, but you gotta try and only take em when you need them the most and suffer through the pain a little sometimes. Not only do they work better when you take them more sparingly but you have better control with putting them down when the time comes. We're all rooting for a speedy recovery Joe, be safe on your adventures and be careful with them pain pills, they're devilish.
same, the video when he camped with Triper and they ate blueberries together is the first video i've watched, i remember seeing his knife and wanting the same so bought one that looked similar. still have it on my desk
Joe ive been following you for over 6 years . Believe it or not, when you follow someone that long, you tend to know their personality very well. You are letting your demons get to you, I know you lost your bro, 2 dogs, and now your functionality of your hand. Dont give up dude, or atleast take it easy with the pain killers. You can definitely see something going on in your vid. You have a family and prob one of the best jobs to have. You gotta remember that. There are people scrubbing shit to make a living, or working at fast food. You have your family and thousands of people who respect you and care for you. Its very rare for your average joe to have thousands of support, keep that in mind when asking why me.... anyways look froward to seeing bushcraft joe back at it.
I'm glad your pot was on top when I clicked on.!!! I'm worried for Joe cuz I immediately saw a behavioral change from the biginning of the video. JOE!!! If you nedd Help PLEASE ask for it.!!! I don't want to see you follow yor brothers path. At least I hope what I here in audi is anneural issue, not a substance issue. Luv ya dude.
But you are 100% right about the pills. I wrecked my bmx when I was 16 and the doc gave me 500 Vicodin pills. A month later the pills were gone and my brother is now a full on heroin addict.
@cpdoasis the GOAT....,are you fucking kidding me. This guy's a fucking youtuber who makes a living leaving his wife and child for weeks and months at a time just to pull his dick in the woods. I'm not saying he doesn't know anything, just don't go throwing up the messiah flag just yet. Cody lundin, Matt Graham, mors kohanski, les stroud, Ray mears.... just to name a few....your wat hing a guy, who does know things...yet cried and cried when he quite that ALONE show cause he couldn't handle it. He's a recluse, a draggy, a person that can't find a normal job to support his family. Again, he has skills...1 being a bullshitter.
Joe, Ive been with you for a long time. You have brought me so much joy. As a mother of 2 addicts, a family history of addiction, please watch those meds. Your slurred speech is heart breaking. I see your on it with your skills however i worry about it. You are much loved and prayed for by many. Keep on treking. 🤟
Really insightful tips and techniques for one-handed fire starting. And we had fun watching this video. Joe is back in the woods and bring us with him. Thanks
It is a process. Good to have you back where you belong. In the woods, overcoming through Bushcraft. I lost my Right leg in april, now I mostly walk on my prosthesis without a cane. The road is uphill, but not as long as it looks. God bless, man!
My good hand, after a stroke, is my left land. I've only recently recovered my right hand to where I can I can sign my name passably. I have a house full of bushcraft wares and musical instruments, none of which are much use to me. I meant my retirement to be more productive. I am a "single handed sailor" too. Your resolve to go on inspires me to go on, not that I was going to quit. I've decided to build a camp in back of my house in the basswoods. Keep going and I will too.
hey Joe just wanted to say keep it up man 5--6 years ago I hit an all time low and you are solely responsible for my recovery. I would watch your videos become inspired and plan a trip and after a few months, you had inspired me enough to get out there and do it. since then my mental health has improved greatly and now your videos are corner stone for me while I'm laid up in a hammock enjoying my favorite woodland spot. keep it up Joe don't let this beat you man, life gives you challenges to temper the soul.
Love to see you getting back to what you love Joe . As a person with spina bifida that’s trying to adapt to outdoor activities since being in the wheelchair , it’s great to see you not letting this set you back too long . Keep healing and keep living brother .
Joe! So good to see you back! Keep on doing the videos man. We are all rooting for you. This is a new chapter in your life and we are all excited to see you overcome your challenges!
Your adaptations are pretty amazing, Joe. You"re inspiring others as you improve. It will take a while for those nerves to find each other and reattach, but in the meantime, you're doing a great job working the muscles and tendons in your hand.
We could all end up in a situation in the field where we would be limited to one hand. You did a great job of it, Joe, wish you and family the very best as always! God's speed buddy! .. Mike.
I’ve watched countless hours of your videos. However, I’ve learned more from this video than any of your other videos. More about you and more about myself. Thanks Joe, I’m so proud of you!
Muscle Memory is a real thing Joe. My dad lost use of his right arm in an accident. He was a truck driver so it was financially devastating to our family. I watch him a child work that arm for a full year. He would sit in his truck and shift gears he called it muscle memory. He never gave up with his physical therapy. Keep trying keep working. Perseverance builds Character and Character Builds Hope in Others!
Man Joe, what a champ, thanks for your dedication to this...your passion is obvious, and I'm glad that you are well on the road to recovery and doing so well!! It's hard coming back from what you went through I'm sure, but keep hanging in there and getting better every day!
Nice, Joe! I'm so glad to see you motivated to challenge yourself. I appreciate how hard you are working to carry on. You are still an inspiration to others.
Joe! I love that’s your putting out videos my man. I’m so happy that your recovery has gone the way it has. You are the reason I got into bushcraft and camping and backpacking and everything I do for fun outdoors. I watched your video for the first time in like 2015 and ever since I’ve followed you. It pains me to see you struggle doing something you love but I very much appreciate your grind and drive to overcome this impossible challenge. My wife and I absolutely love your videos and we will continue to support your work and we wish you and the family the absolute best. Keep at it brother… You are the OG UA-cam bushcrafter, you’ve inspired so many, and I hope you continue on your journey. Much love brother!
Nice to see you back at it. I can relate to what you are going through Joe. I was diagnosed with MS 2 years ago after I woke up with my left arm completely paralyzed. Just keep working at it, eat plenty of B12 rich food / mixed nuts and the damage should slowly fix itself. Don't give up.
Well done Joe! Practising different techniques in challenging ways is a great idea. You never know when it may come in handy! You are an inspiration to many people. Keep it up!
Ive been watching you for YEARS like your way esrly stuff ..LONG be4 you were "The" Joe Robinet youtube mesga star for outdoors and camping. Best i can tell you put the bulk of your adult life into this (NOT youtube) but doing what you love, bushcraft and survial.your a good man. God bless you friend
Joe!! Glad to see you out there and doing better. Keep forcing yourself to use that arm/hand. It’s not going to feel right while it’s healing. The more effort you put in and mobility you gain with it now will pay huge dividends down the road. Go see a physical therapist as well. We all hope the best for you man and so happy to see you doing things you love.
Great video! I know in time ole "lefty" will come around for you. Keep on the therapy and keep relearning those motor skills. Amazing what a little time and attention will do. Bless!
I don't get as much time to watch UA-cam anymore. But the one handed video I really like. Because it might be enough to get people out in nature who think a disability will hold them back. Plus your a cool dude and always put out great content
Joe, you should tape your one pointer finger to your middle or get a glove and sew those 2 fingers together. That way that ponter finger is always bending with the other fingers. The more it moves the better. So glad your out making videos again. Your videos are a nice way to relax after a long day.
Thanks Joe. Good to see you out getting better😊 I just had my knee replaced, a minor setback. I am getting stronger each day thank the Lord. Nothing compared to what you went through 😮. You are coming back strong. Take care 😊
Joe, great job. Thanks for showing learning new ways with life changes. Very helpful to lots of people. Ur hair looks great. Enjoy having hair, before it is gone. A glove on the end of the stick against stomach could help. Thanks. Always a pleasure to watch ur videos.
with nerve damage in my right arm, i know the struggle. Lived with it all my life. I'm a nature nut too. The only advice I can give YOU is be mindful when working out. While you hyper focus on the hand, its easy to forget to work the core. It'll never become natural but it is what it is.
You gotta use it Joe. Nerves can feel wild when they are healing and firing back up. Sucks but it's part of the healing. Use that hand and talk healing to it. Mind, body and spirit. Treat yourself as well as you treat other people. You deserve that. We love you bro. Be well.
When I compound fractured my right forearm and had plates installed to put it back together, it was tough, even to this day, some 25 years later I still have some numbness in my fingers, especially when its damp, or cold I still get odd sensations (like i can feel something touching my hand when my forearm gets touched in the right spots) But untill I really started using the hand again is when it really started to work as it should, and the more I used it, the better it got, I was young and dumb, so I never went to physio so I had to do it the hard way, by just doing it without guidance, but working it is what made it work better and get stronger.
Amen to that. I experienced nerve damage and while I was healing I went a full year with about half of my body in various places feeling like a sunburn.
You just did with one hand what I can barely do with two and a lighter somedays, not only that but you got better as you went! Seriously impressive stuff! Keep at it, and we'll keep watching!
Omg Joe.. that was amazing!!! Loved the video and truly happy for you.. awesome and ty for sharing. Hang in there.. what an inspiration for your family/daughters. I have no doubt all are on pins and needles awaiting you to get home. Teaching your daughters and others with disabilities that nothing is impossible if you want it bad enough. Welcome back Joe.. nice to see Wolf right next to you.
you, Sir, are a Legend. a Legend of perserverance, overcoming, adapting. and just getting 'on with it'. embodiment of human spirit and it is an honor to see/watch
Back to the basic enjoyment of being outdoors. These are the best videos. Like your early days. Sometimes we loose sight of why we started doing these things in the first place. Looking forward to many more adventures, paddles, camps, and instructional videos from old Joe! Welcome back. -Mike from Niagara.
Classic joe nothing can stop this OG from doing whatever he sets he’s mind to. You beat him down he’ll just get right back up smile at you and continue to be a badass.
You rock Joe! For those that are new to Bushcraft knife work, Joe just showed a half-dozen ways to use your knife in a log. Splitting wood, creating shavings, creating fire sticks, using a fire-steel to spark up your fire. Awesome good stuff! :)
Joe, sending you positive energy brother, love ya and all your videos man. Stay strong for your family it’s what’s most important, be happy man that’s all I wish for you.
Glad to see you out in the woods, I’m happy you’re a on the mend. This has been a tough time for you, there’s no rush, take your time and heal everything thing. We are all supporting your videos and you are definitely a release for my frustrations. Take care.
As much as we love to see you outside doing your thing again! Please, just don’t put yourself in a place that you aren’t comfortable with, just for our entertainment. 😊
I know you are in a lot of pain, emotionally and physically. Watch out for the opiates. I'm happy to see you out working through the injury in your favorite space, outdoors.
Second the watch out for the opiates Joe.
Agreed! We're pulling for you, Joe! Fight against the opiate use.
there is a reason why he hasn't hearted your comment. guy is zoomin
Yea love Joe but thoose chemicals can really frack you up
Came to say this also, you start to feel like them meds are your good friend helping you out, but you gotta try and only take em when you need them the most and suffer through the pain a little sometimes.
Not only do they work better when you take them more sparingly but you have better control with putting them down when the time comes.
We're all rooting for a speedy recovery Joe, be safe on your adventures and be careful with them pain pills, they're devilish.
Please camp with a friend and be careful! You are recuperating!! ( former surgical/ICU RN)
You got me into survival content Joe, years ago, now it’s mostly all I watch. Thanks man,

Same here. Saw him on Alone and since then I've watched him and a few other bush-craft UA-camrs. These videos really help with stress.

Dude fast food jobs aren't that bad. I would much rather make food than scrub shit.
But you are 100% right about the pills. I wrecked my bmx when I was 16 and the doc gave me 500 Vicodin pills. A month later the pills were gone and my brother is now a full on heroin addict.
Youre a soldier, brother. Embarrassing how happy it makes me to see you back out crushing it.
Still, and always will be the GOAT of camping & outdoor content. We love you Joe.

Joe, don't ever quit! You can do this. Recovery may take a while but you are strong enough to handle it!
Joe, you should tape your one pointer finger to your middle or get a glove and sew those 2 fingers together. That way that ponter finger is always bending with the other fingers. The more it moves the better. So glad your out making videos again. Your videos are a nice way to relax after a long day.

You’re not only an influencer, man, you are an inspiration! Always have been!
with nerve damage in my right arm, i know the struggle. Lived with it all my life. I'm a nature nut too. The only advice I can give YOU is be mindful when working out. While you hyper focus on the hand, its easy to forget to work the core. It'll never become natural but it is what it is.

When I compound fractured my right forearm and had plates installed to put it back together, it was tough, even to this day, some 25 years later I still have some numbness in my fingers, especially when its damp, or cold I still get odd sensations (like i can feel something touching my hand when my forearm gets touched in the right spots)
But untill I really started using the hand again is when it really started to work as it should, and the more I used it, the better it got, I was young and dumb, so I never went to physio so I had to do it the hard way, by just doing it without guidance, but working it is what made it work better and get stronger.
Amen to that. I experienced nerve damage and while I was healing I went a full year with about half of my body in various places feeling like a sunburn.
He needs to get the nerves rejoined by a surgeon. I don't think he's had any surgery.
You just did with one hand what I can barely do with two and a lighter somedays, not only that but you got better as you went! Seriously impressive stuff!
Keep at it, and we'll keep watching!
It's a good thing that us guys are skilled at one-handed tasks, lol.
Cheers, dude! Keep on keeping on!
Omg Joe.. that was amazing!!! Loved the video and truly happy for you.. awesome and ty for sharing. Hang in there.. what an inspiration for your family/daughters.
