Pro tip to people reading the comments here: if you buy a KTM that is jetted for 60:1 and you add more oil to your gas mix you're going to be running leaner if you don't change your jets. Don't blow your bike up because someone used to a different brand of bike says you're doing it wrong.

My rm250 was ment to be 32:1
50:1 safe on the engine (with decent oil) no plug issues I did it like that for years the best bike I ever owned. that was the what I used on the track.
Scrub riding hour after hour I mixed 40:1

    1:60?
    Why so lean on oil?

This isn't the fault of the KTM, all bikes blow top ends be it run too long, or just too lean!

Bud 60:1 is way too lean they are jetted from the factory too run 40:1! Gonna keep grenading the top end running 60:1 even if you play with the mixture and jetting. 40:1 and a fouled spark plug is better than 60:1 and a blown bike

They are jetted from the factory at 60:1. KTM's run way leaner than the japanese bikes.

and this is why you dont run 40 or 50 to 1 oil....

40:1 works fine, probably depends on what kind of oil, my yz125 has had no problems on 40:1 even when it's 90-100 degrees out on a sand track

***** aside from the fact that 32:1 will USUALLY last longer plus idk about my 250sx and 150sx but my old 112(105sx) actually made more power at 28:1 than any other mix on a dyno, so I stick with more oil just to be safe.
