I'll go with 3 of the 4 elements mentioned in their song titles: Cold Fire, High Water, Earthshine. Unfortunately, no songs with the word "air" in it, but if you replace it with "wind", then you have The way the wind blows.

Good one! Musically, I'd say they fit their respective elements really well, too!

When I was a child I thought the adult beverage was beer. Then when I was in my twenties I thought the adult beverage was coffee. Now I know the adult beverage is water. -- an anonymous hydrohomie who loves the Drinks Trilogy

I never thought it if that way, but that's dead-on!! (chronologically, I'm an adult- it's arguable I've matured as one)

How about the Dream Trilogy-Middletown Dreams, Mission, and Dreamline and the Red Trilogy-Red Barchetta, Red Lenses, Red Tide, and throw in Red Sector A for shits and giggles🤘

For years I've had the idea that Subdivisions, Middletown Dreams, and Everyday Glory were about the same person at 3 different life stages, and I've commented various places laying out versions of that idea a few times, most recently on Roundtable #242.
Subdivisions: in high school you dream of leaving the suburbs.
Middletown Dreams: you've had your first job for a while, and now you dream of leaving Middletown.
Everyday Glory: your dreams came true, but it wasn't what you thought. Now you're the one who has to shine.
I think that whole story would make a pretty good movie. Maybe I'll write it up that way sometime.
With respect to Rob getting 2/3rd of that right, I disqualify Losing It because the three songs I picked are all about ordinary people in ordinary situations. Losing It is pretty explicitly about extraordinary people. I'd listen to an argument that it could work as the fourth song (where our protagonist did indeed shine and become extraordinary, only to lose it all), but the movie version definitely wouldn't end that way.
I've got one more trilogy which I'll take up far less of your time explaining, called "Of Gods and Men": Hemispheres, Natural Science, and Prime Mover.

Subdivisions is much more than leaving the suburbs its about WHY you would want to leave the suburbs . That has been the storyline of many a movie already.

Paul's communication trilogy gave me chills when he finished up with I am... You Are. What a great closer.

Trylogy: Afterimage, Fly by Night, Everyday Glory and of course part IV: Fancy Dancer! Dig FIrst Paul's found sound that's somewhere between Book 1 and Hemisphere chord.

90's (plus Presto) Aspiration Trilogy: Presto, Bravado, Everyday Glory, and Resist (R30 acoustic version). It starts with wanting to achieve your goals and the hopefulness of "if I could wave my magic wand" in Presto. Bravado then shows how we take that too far sometimes and end up burnt out, and Everyday Glory is finding the resolve to continue onward through rising from the ashes. Resist is the epilogue to this trilogy, having some insight on what you can accomplish and ending the trilogy on a fulfilled note.
My version of the Love Trilogy: Madrigal, Open Secrets, Still (My Favorite Headache), and Different Strings. Like with David's Love Trilogy, Madrigal is the perfect first song to capture the innocence and grace of love. Then Open Secrets explores a falling out and what should and could have happened in a perfect world. Still also grapples with this falling out, and the reality is that it takes time to heal. While it might hurt to be in this healing phase, we will get through this and end up on top of that hill. Different Strings closes the trilogy, having a close connection to Madrigal in my opinion, and with the resolution we live our lives differently and is just how life is meant to be.
Lastly, the Dream Trilogy: Dreamline, Jacob's Ladder, Middletown Dreams, and The Sphere (A Kind of Dream). Three of the songs have "dream" in their title and discuss different types of dreams, with Dreamline discussing the dreams of youth in the prime of their lives, Middletown Dreams discusses a more adult type of dream of wanting to escape the city and a mundane job, and The Sphere is a more ideological dream of everyone fitting into a united dream. I included Jacob's Ladder for the last lines of the song, "Follow men's eyes as they look to the skies. The shifting shafts of shining weave the fabric of their dreams." It's also a great song off their best album.

Now THAT is someone who took their homework seriously! These are *amazing*!! I tried finding a pattern that would fit Everyday Glory and your Aspiration Trilogy did so wonderfully (and involves songs from my favorite era, to boot) 🙌🏼. Your Love Trilogy shows a wonderful understanding of the songs, and I'm actually jealous (in the right way) of your Dream Trilogy- very insightful!! 🤙🏼

I like that name, but I'd have to cram Analog Kid in there. It doesn't explicitly mention clouds, but "The boy lies in the grass unmoving, staring at the sky" definitely implies it.

My trilogy relates to religion 1) Freewill 2) Faithless 3) BU2B
    1) You can choose a religious path if you wish but I will choose Freewill .In case you don't get that ,
religion is a doctrine that dictates how you live your life .Freewill means you can make your own decisions on how you live your life.
    2) Faithless speaks for itself . This time the main point is I don't need religion into order to be a good citizen , respectful to others etc .
    3) BU2B takes an ironical look at religion ''' I was brought up to believe '' and what you get is '' while our loving watchmaker loves us all to DEATH''
Next one ...I call it .Theres got to be a better way
    1) Closer to the Heart 2) Second Nature 3) Territories 4 ) Half the World
Lastly ... Human frailty 1) Bravado 2) War Paint 3) Resist

Excellent trilogies- I'm always glad to see War Paint pop up, and well used! As far as the second trilogy (There's Got To Be a Better Way), I'm going to keep that handy the next time a newscycle wears me down- well crafted!

@@Paul_Simon Of all Neils lyrics the one that stands out is '' Don't feed the people but we feed the machines '' Its been the same for many a generation sadly. Definitely time for the younger generation to take over the reigns .I mean people in their 20's and 30's. Lyrics are why i've stuck with this band and I think they got better and better. All the subjects Neil wrote about previously were brought together in the grand finale Clockwork Angels album. Happy listening Paul
