Trerice - ready for Christmas! A wander around this Elizabethan Manor House, Newquay, Cornwall

- We are excited that Christmas is on its way and to kick start some Christmas spirit, why not join us as we take a look around Trerice, an Elizabethan Manor House near Newquay. Once the ancestral home of the Arundell family, and with close ties to royalty woven throughout it's fascinating history, the house is now owned by the National Trust.
Since late November, the house has been dressed for Christmas, with Christmas trees, garlands, mince pies for Santa and even holly in the bathroom! We think this is the perfect taster for the build up to Christmas!
And watch out for the cheeky robin - we think he does quite well!

The standard description bit…
We are Sarah and Andrew and we film our walks around Cornwall and publish on UA-cam, usually weekly. Sometimes we stay in accommodation in Cornwall and upload our vlog. Sarah is fascinated by sea glass and likes to collect it so there may be the occasional sea glass video too. The channel is a hobby and we both have normal day jobs!

It really is a homely stately manor🎄🏰 ,so inviting with all the Xmas trees. The window panes from the 16th century are truly remarkable to admire👏 The robin was so cute. Such beautiful birds.🙏 Merry Christmas 🎅and thank you so much for sharing with us such varied and interesting walks and places in enchanting Cornwall👏
Very interesting walk today. The ceiling in the large hall is beautiful. Lovely trees. So warm and festive. Beautiful home and decorations. I really feel the Christmas spirit today.
I worked there for 2 years. Love going back so peaceful and a real family property.

Absolutely beautiful Manor for Christmas 🎄 and the gorgeous Christmas 🎄 trees the robin making appearance how lovely 😊 thankyou sharing this video enjoyed it xx
I grew up just down the road at Quintrell and used to cycle quite often past Trerice. I always stopped and admired the house thinking one day I would live in it. There’s something rather special and cosy about it. Good to see it looking so well after 50 years. Merry Christmas to you both.
What a beautiful!!
Saludos desde México.
Another Fantastic episode, showcasing a beautiful cornish Manor House 🏠 🎅🤶.
Thank you both so much. Have a wonderful Christmas.
Admit it “Who bit the head of the gingerbread man?” & the star of the show was the gorgeous robin. This was such a super video just right to get us all in the spirit of Christmas. Trerice looks stunning - Merry Christmas to the 2 of you - stay healthy and hope to see you in 2022.

It was so relaxing to watch. I will watch it again next week with a glass of port and a warm mince pie.

We love Trerice on our vacations we stayed just around the corner from Bejowan Barns Cottages in Quintrell Downs. The Christmas Trerice is a magical real gem that you have put in the spotlight. Thank you for this beautiful video. Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Stay healthy, Greetings Günter
This was a very good start this morning 😊 I have been sitting here enjoying my coffee and I loved the video. Such a beautiful old home. I am so impressed by the old windows that they have repaired. They have really made an effort to keep them. Beautiful garden and festive decorations indoors. Thank you 🎄🤶

Andrews’ piano playing has come on in leaps and bounds
Nice home! Wonder if anyone lives there or just open for visitors? Should do a night time tour there if allowed....creepy lol. The Robin looked very friendly obviously knows where to get fed 👍
Ah, so lovely to see Trerice Manor.. I think I've been once but not at Christmas 🎄... wonderful and those windows 👌💞. You got to love a friendly robin too 😁.Thanks for a lovely year of wonderful videos and a Merry Christmas to you both and a Happy and Healthy new year 🙏💝🎊🎆
have just found you ~ so enjoyed the Christmas tour, you are super good at this video stuff. Viewing from Perth Australia ~ thanks and will watch more...
Trerice Manor House looks a magnificent building, with a splendid Interior, all dressed ready for Christmas 🎅 Santa’s mince pies and wine glass is ready and waiting, I hope they put fresh one’s out by Christmas Eve, I also agree with Andrew the Garden Lion 🦁 does look a lot like Dougal! even a Robin put in an appearance for this festive time of year, he didn’t get any crumbs though did he! 😞 thank you Sarah and Andrew for another wonderful tour, and all your hard work over the past year, have a lovely Christmas 🎄 and a happy new year 🥳 blessings from Derby’s 🤗👋
Looked lovely! I've always found that the robins in Cornwall seem to be so friendly and inquisitive. Much more so than over here! He was lovely and just added an extra bit of Christmas to the video. Thanks for being there on a Friday each week...in this world of madness, it's reassuring to know you can tune into two ordinary people who love their County as much as you do and share it with us every week. Keep safe. Have a lovely Christmas & look forward to more of the same in Cornwall to share with you in 2022. J x
What a lovely video, very Christmassey indeed! Thanks for letting us share all your great walks this year, given me lots of inspiration of place to visit in 2022. Merry Christmas to you both 💖🎄⛄🎅🎁
I see Andrew has found a new pet. 🦁 Merry Christmas!⛄🎄🦌🎅🤶🎁❄️☃️
Merry Christmas to you both... what a gorgeous little robin x
Merry Xmas! Robins are friendly & fun!!
Thank you .A merry Xmas to you too.
Trerice is lovely, went there one autumn when the orchard was full of apples and found a tree with the most delicious apples I've ever tasted! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Look forward to 2020 videos!
A very merry Christmas to you both, and best wishes for the new year. Visited Trerice several times but never seen it like this, beautiful.
What a lovely gift to share with your viewers! I'm obsessed with those ceilings! I love the tasteful decorating style, though the 'great room' viewed from the minstrel gallery made me think of the slightly more opulent Trenwith Christmas from season one of Poldark. The 'sea horse' tiles in the bath are so charming. And that Jacobean crewel-work is divine. I love your indoor walking boots, Sarah! Warm wishes from S. California, where we have a forecast of frost for tonight. Merry Christmas!
Andrews piano playing has come on in leaps and bounds
Merry Christmas to you Sarah & Andrew 🎁🎅🎄
Marry Christmas from STL in USA! ☺🌲⛪🎄☃
Thanks for your feel good seasonal video 😊. Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to you both ( keep up the good videos) . ROB & JULIE
Very nice video and the Manor house is beautiful and your right about that yew Sarah! That is actually Canadian yew I live in Ohio here in the states and we have Canadian yew in all of are Parks 🌲 and woodlands 💚 but considering that it's only a 4 hour drive to Toronto 🍁 from here! It makes perfect sense Canadian yew grows more like a shrub than a tree! It's not at all like your beautiful English yews 💚 which happen to be one of my favorite trees 🎄 happy holidays to both of you ❤️❤️and a very happy new year cheers 🥂
Thank you another wonderful video, I have enjoyed everyone of your videos. Have a great New Year and keep the great videos coming.
Thanks for such a lovely video at Trerice. I first visited about 20 years ago and remember staff and volunteers mentioning how they dreaded Concorde flying over! Apparently the vibrations were damaging for the original window panes.
Merry Christmas 🎄 not you Sarah and Andrew and a better and peaceful new year 2022 🙏😊
Merry Christmas to both of you. Love the way they just repaired the panes like that with lead. Adds so much more character to them. Thank you. Loves from Galicia.
And a very merry Christmas to you both and a happy, healthy new year. Thanks for another great video and let’s hope this new strain of virus doesn’t stop you from getting out to produce more videos, take care and best wishes, John and Sue xxx
