With all the genres and tones Andy covers, his delay demos are always outstanding! Dude knows his way around a delay at the level of Gilmour, the Edge, you name it he can nail that sound! Such inspiring playing!
Imagine if Chase Bliss did a stereo multidelay, made it intuitive, got rid of ramping, and reduced the price by $50-100. This is an absolute banger, can't wait for LE graphics every week.
there should be a button just to activate or not the "dual"(stereo) option, as this function could optionally work in all modes and that would be incredible
The pedal is actual gorgeous in person! Very different from their usual graphics, it seems like their “post college grad” kinda pedal. Lol seriously though, it’s great.
I have both and I think I prefer the simple finish on this pedal. I know that blasphemous when talking about walrus, but its how I'm feeling right now.
Andy's incredible. Awesome player and master of effects. Love it when you see that smile come over him when a pedal really impresses him! Still wrestling between this and the Keeley Eccos (which also has a looper). Appreciate any advice!
The starting song/riff(s) are absolutely hitting it...especially with the overdrive giving it some punch. It's bright and has depth...quite inspiring...as it somehow soars. So, what is it? Where can I get the tab on this one?
I love walrus. This doesn't seem like a walrus pedal for me. I do understand why they made it but it definitely loses its character. I always felt that walrus did a good job of not trying to make be all pedals
The DD-8 is its own thing, and it's incredible. Don't get me wrong, I want this D1 really badly! But nothing will make me get rid of my DD-8. The GLT mode alone makes it worth buying!
This is awesome! My only concern is that I thought a standardized MIDI input/output system was established, and it wasn’t 5-pin if I recall. That may hurt it long-term, but for now there’s plenty of musicians using 5-pin MIDI interfaces.
Alex Breyer an overall standard size for MIDI jacks was established within the last year by the MIDI Association, and it’s the 2.5mm or 3.5mm TRS. As most MIDI signals are only 2-3 conductor, the 5-pin jacks are bulky & not really necessary for the majority of controllers & pedals.
I own the Empress. I think this thing's layout is a bit easier to work with compared to the Empress and the Nemesis, and it sounds fantastic. Probably nowhere near as many sounds, but still plenty to play and create with. Sound and playability seem excellent.
Lime 2 button, 125B enclosures are not unique to CBA. Walrus already uses them. Swindler uses them. Matthews uses them. And those are just the ones off the top of my head.
Doug Clark ...and yet none of those other pedals seem to evoke that particular aesthetic quite as strongly as this one. I guess it’s the layout of the knobs and mini toggle switches 🤷♂️
Cheaper, stereo, can be much cleaner, twice (or 4 times, depending on TR model) as long delay time, and some other modes (reverse). Flipside is: no Exp input, and no DIP switches.
let me tell you my experience, I got D1 and R1. they both changes the dry signal, you can’t turn off and on the pedal quickly on stage you need to be slow until it recognise it, bank switches dosen’t work properly, if you switch from bank A to bank B it just stuck on bank A, d1 V2 is another story, it’s not actually a new pedal just adding a usb port to the old one because there wasn’t an usb technology when the v1 released two years ago. so, huge diappointment, i just decided not to buy any of walrus product anymore, they are definetely not for pro musicians, stay away and dont waste your money
That attack control is worth the price of admission right there.
This and a strymon reverb will probably end up being in my rig forever. All you could ever need for ambience
You still like it?

Good job, Walrus Audio on not omitting the crucial midi ports. Will look into this series.

Not as deep as a chase bliss product. Sorry
Dylan M. your opinion is valid :) but i think CBA is kinda different. (not sorry, btw :))
Levi Jesse That was his point. CBA pedals can be too intense.
@@dougc84 my point too.
....with zillion possibilities less too!
Andy's delay videos are my go-to-sleep sound machine now.
One & Done. Pedal Is Truly Incredible. Don’t Need Another.
????
the attack knob is much more important than I thought.
The facial expressions say it all... Andy, you seem very pleased with the results you are getting from this pedal.
Well, Walrus really did a nice job with this, can't wait to check it out.
there should be a button just to activate or not the "dual"(stereo) option, as this function could optionally work in all modes and that would be incredible
This is like the perfect delay for me... I just wish it looked as ridiculously cool as the Arp-87 lol
Yeah a surprisingly bland pedal (visually) than you would expect from Walrus
@@MrGargal26 Agreed. Also no expression pedal, but 2 (full-sized) MIDI ports? Weird choice.

I’d take this over the eccos. More diverse.
ohhh the redtail strat is out and rockin.
Reminds me of The Art Van Delay
Vandelay Industries !
Love love love for Andy dy dy
I tune in just to hear Andy jam!

Walrus is The future, dude!
3:53. Adrift in the Ocean, Andy?
Can you tweak mod, tone and age on one sound? Or is it a switch to choose one tweakable parameter only?
You can tweak all 3 for each sound and save those to a preset!
Cool.
AndyDemos thank god
I love walrus. This doesn't seem like a walrus pedal for me. I do understand why they made it but it definitely loses its character. I always felt that walrus did a good job of not trying to make be all pedals
This is what the dd8 could have been
the5chord dd8 has more different modes, and if you know how boss repeats sound, you know it’s something special, like tight attack and crispy sound
The DD-8 is its own thing, and it's incredible. Don't get me wrong, I want this D1 really badly! But nothing will make me get rid of my DD-8. The GLT mode alone makes it worth buying!
So do you actually go to NAMM or is this the time of year when you just barricade yourself in the studio to knock out demos of all the new pedals?
Jim La Rosa Haha, both! The pedals that are ready for release, I like to film ahead instead of the NAMM floor.
Wonder why they didn't opt for analog dry through on this...?
You can set this to true bypass!
Two awesome pedals within 24 hours? You don't need both I'll give you my postal address for this one xo
6:40 Gustavo Cerati estaría muy orgulloso..
Agustin Molet no hay un modo, no hay punto exacto...
reverse mode demo ? and yeah when i say reverse it means 100 percent wt please . ty .
This or the Wampler Metaverse? Thanks for your reply.
Goo goo ga choo
What’s up with the inconsistent tap led, is it just the camera or am I missing something?
Yeah, probably an fps thing.
yeah I think the camera goes 24 or 30 fps so it misses som blinks.
Why don't you use the Fender Deluxe Reverb anymore?
Andy could sell me a burning bag of poo...no shit! SOLD
This is awesome! My only concern is that I thought a standardized MIDI input/output system was established, and it wasn’t 5-pin if I recall. That may hurt it long-term, but for now there’s plenty of musicians using 5-pin MIDI interfaces.
Whose standard? 5 pin is the traditional version in my mind. I'm kind of glad I don't need to translate anything like with Empress or Chase Bliss.

HELP: DD-20 versus this D1? should i sell my DD-20 to this pedal?
Yes
Me thinks you’d dig an echo park for 70 bucks my friends.
haha - methinks
I really doesn't sound any better than the souce audio Nemesis and has less features... The Nemesis is 3 years old btw
Alex Jones nemesis is also way bigger.
Yeah or the Empress Echosystem for slightly higher cost but with Dual delay engines.
I own the Empress. I think this thing's layout is a bit easier to work with compared to the Empress and the Nemesis, and it sounds fantastic. Probably nowhere near as many sounds, but still plenty to play and create with. Sound and playability seem excellent.
@@itsmeshady1770 Not by much big thing to me is not analog dry through on the SA pedals
Eric Filsinger you haven’t seen my board; I need every inch 😂 which also brings me to no top mounted jacks :(
The layout, configuration and overall aesthetic looks very similar to a Chase Bliss pedal... 🧐
Not exactly a ton of ways to fit 2 switches, 3 toggles, and 6 knobs on a pedal this size
Doug Clark cmon you know what they are trying to do here.
Nkozi Cole not exactly like there aren’t a million other ways to put a pedal together without those 3 specific well known elements.
I was Hoping REV Stood for reverb that's a big disappointment, would rather have an El cap
So is this similar to the tonal recall?
This is digital, that's analog, plus TR has all the dip swtiches.
This is stereo as well.
Cheaper, stereo, can be much cleaner, twice (or 4 times, depending on TR model) as long delay time, and some other modes (reverse).

It's Mako. With a K. Just saying.
