Meh, I think it’s overrated personally. The reverb is plate, which is fantastic but the delay is unable to go anything more than 80% wet. Hard to do U2 licks or really anything with a repeat the same level as your guitar signal. Shame because it does sound fantastic but I got a DD3T instead and it’s way more versatile even without reverb. That’s just my opinion though
Big shout out to the NUX Atlantic. Small, affordable, no frills. Just a very solid R/D pedal with 3 modes of each effect. I would say that for a rock or metal musician, it has everything you need and none of the weird sounds you probably will try once and never touch again.
Dude, your sleight of hand while palming your pick and then floating it back into play is so rad! The review/demo is great, but your playing is even better. Cheers!
I love my Keeley Cavarens! It's been on my board for a few years now. I'm always finding new and interesting ways of using it with other effects. Also, no one rocks a Hagstrom like Andy!!!
Was just watching a video on another channel that put the Keeley Caverns, EQD Dispatch Master, and the Wampler Ethereal head to head, they all seem like great pedals. ua-cam.com/video/sZmXcUTkWPo/v-deo.html
@@Omonk6I’ve been running the NUX Atlantic in the effects loop of my Marshall Studio Plexi for problem five years now on my studio and recording board and have had zero issues with noise or anything. I love it. Simple and sounds great. I need more features on my gigging board but I’m sure it would handle the road just fine if it was all someone needed.
Thanks for teaching me how to use my RV-6 on the +Delay setting. I was ready to buy an EQD Avalanche Run, you saved me a lot of money (and pedalboard space!)
nice, usually the delay before or after reverb argument can be frustrating. either which way one affects the other. a way to fix that is use them in parallel so they remain independent and unaffected by the other, which will take another parallel mixer device. or you could buy a delay/reverb pedal with the parallel thing already done. no brainer. i liked the collider
Great video as always, thanks Andy! My favorite reverb/delay+ pedals are The Wash v2/tap (Hungry Robot) and Minim (Old Blood Noise Endeavors). Both provide really beautiful textures.
Kay - Munnay Thanks for your note. Actually right now I’m mostly making ambient cassette tapes loops so it’s a less traditional pedalboard setup. I put The Wash or Minim on my Tascam’s FX loop and bring it in per track to create swells. I then run the output to Blooper and continue to layer.
Paul Zenke oh that is quite experimental lol. I just have two other delays and reverbs and am trying out signal order cuz its got its own thing going on especially in the modulation so I was treating it that way a little bit, like a mod pedal in an effects chain.
Great video! I was talked into the Collider from Sweetwater. While it is very rich in its options, and the tones and reverbs and delays sound very good, the thing is simply too complex for me. I'm going to sell it and get two separate pedals. It's too confusing to turn things on and off and know which editable mode you're in unless you're looking at it closely.
I was kind of expecting the Mooer Ocean Machine to be on this list.....probably because it's about the only delay & reverb combo that I have. But to be honest, with 2 delay engines, a load of different reverbs to choose from, oh and a looper, I think it has to be the best value and most versatile of any delay & reverb combo on the market.
Thanks really good demo and playing as usual. My first attempt to get $150 range effect.. For this comparison I guess I wouldn’t go wrong with straight forward basic settings of RV-6 just for testing the waters.
Me: (after enjoying a few hours of plugging straight in with only reverb and tremolo in my fx loop): Maybe I don't need all of these pedals. Also me: Ooh Andy's demoing Dual Reverb/Delay pedals, I'll have some of that.
Keeley Delay Workstation Old Blood Noise Endeavors' Rever or Minim; both not as versatile (or for everyday use) as some of these, but cool at what they do provide.
Is it true that the Collider's preset switching takes between 200 ms and 1 second? I would need something like the collider for my live pedalboard, but waiting a second for the sound to appear is not okay at all. So I'm currently looking at GFI's device - but here again there seems to be the problem that the banks can't be loaded via midi as you would imagine - but only bank up and down - any experience with this?
Hi, hard to consider what a pedal can bring with this kind of sound, anyway, thanks, the collider is largely on top on every aspect, sound and paracticality on scene, this is what i consider in the pro category. but again thanks for the vid.
I’ve been doing a Dolphin’s song, unrelated to the sport team, for a month or two. Under water the Dolphin’s have their own language, and you did some of those here in this video. I said ‘Ooh, Dolphin sounds’. Nice Andy. Digging deep.
Love your vids and You seem like a rly cool guy. Which is why it pains me to say that i couldn't listen to the tone of that guitar / chain, not to mention some nasty digital clipping going on somewhere in the intro. Ouch. But hey, prob the only vid of yours i didn't care for, which is a pretty amazing batting average. Cant wait for the next vid.
NYCdogrescue Totally agree, when your doing demo of reverbs and delays I would not be using breakup tones for these type of scenarios, doesn’t represent the clean tone of these pedals
Probably something simple like a carbon copy and maybe the mxr reverb. Quick recommendation though, for hard rock and metal you’ll probably want to make sure both pedals are in the fx loop of your amp
Zoom MS70-CDR and BT-100 are as valid as all others here, you can have 3 reverbs and 3 delays at the same time, and they cost between 50-80EUR on the used market. Especially with the Github uploader and many user presets available online, you can replicate almost all crazy boutique pedals out there (Red Panda Particle, Zvex Lofi Junky, Hologram stuff etc.) if you are lazy and don't want to create your patches.
Reverb + Delay to space out and kill time while stuck at home. This post is very timely....much obliged Andy
TheFreqs “Timely” indeed😋
Yeah I been saving up for a Collider since the start of the year. I’m about $350 short
The Dispatch Master definitely deserves to be on that list as well.
If something like a Dispatch Master Plus would exist, that would be cool. With a tap tempo or something..
@@Thruftinger You mean the Avalanche Run?

Bro I've been watching Andy's pedal reviews since I was like 10 years old... His voice is so smooth! As well as his chops!
Great video - thanks for plugging into the Collider. Much appreciation!
Got any open box or blemished collider's you wanna sell me?
@@IvanHerenchakJones 🤣
Was jamming allong to your playing during this video and honestly we sound great together. Want to start a band andy? :)
The opening tone was so good that I got angry.
I don't want another delay Andy... Why do you do this to me?!? Absolutely killer.
🤣🤣🤣
I love my Keeley Cavarens! It's been on my board for a few years now. I'm always finding new and interesting ways of using it with other effects. Also, no one rocks a Hagstrom like Andy!!!
Dispatch Master baby. Elegant simplicity, and beautiful sounds.
I love my avalanche run. The Wampler Ethereal is another good option, although it doesn't have tap tempo
I second the Wampler Ethereal mention! Compact, versatile, and very intuitive!
Was just watching a video on another channel that put the Keeley Caverns, EQD Dispatch Master, and the Wampler Ethereal head to head, they all seem like great pedals. ua-cam.com/video/sZmXcUTkWPo/v-deo.html
@@riffswamp, any modulation onboard the Ethereal?
This guys playing is a breath of fresh air
Great to see Quiet Theory receive some love. I have yet to test their pedals but they seem to be aweome.
Great video! (Sometimes I wonder if I took all the hours I watch the Andy's demos and actually practiced...how much better I would be!)
I would also recommend the Nu-X Atlantic. I just bought one brand new for £97 for my fly 'board and there's nothing bad to say about it!
Ian Brailsford the Atlantic is amazing for the money.
I was going to ask about the Nux. What's the noise like with the unit, if any?

For me the best budged would be the nux atlantic.
I see Andy . . . I insta-click!
Boss RV-3 is my favorite pedal. I use two of them on my main pedal board.
Andy always sounds so good. I think its because he uses his fingers in addition to be an amazing player.
That green telecaster is just beautiful.
That has to be one of the prettiest guitars I have ever seen.
aaaah, the NUX Atlantic belongs here, too !
So the legends are true Andy is the beholder of the almighty pick of destiny
David J. THE PICK OF DESTINY IS INVISIBLE YET ONLY ANDY CAN SEE. BEHOLD!!!
This man could make a bullet strat into a GG-20 sound good
Does anyone know what that intro song is, please?
Also the one at 08:43 although I suspect that is maybe one of Andy's own!
I'm a simple man. I see Andy in the thumbnail, therefore I click on it :)
A simple man wouldn’t write “therefore.” Just sayin’....
Thanks for teaching me how to use my RV-6 on the +Delay setting. I was ready to buy an EQD Avalanche Run, you saved me a lot of money (and pedalboard space!)
same i was about to buy a keeley caverns and i did not know that my rv6 was a dual effect

Happy to see the Keeley Caverns on this list! I own #7 and it’s been on one of my boards ever since!
Brilliant playing Andy. Thanks.
The Collider is certainly on my radar, but I'm anxiously awaiting the Red Panda Context V2. Hoping one of these will get me there.
Bought EarthquakerDevices Dispatch master. Other options was Collider and UA Delverb.
the Redtail S model sounding awesome, love those Frailins.
The Keeley super mod workstation is the ultimate workhorse pedal. Delay, reverb and modulation!
surprised the caverns was chosen but not the keeley delay workstation, and the fender reflecting pool, and alexander sky5000 is pretty cool too
Andy really rockin the New Balanaces. Frat machine
Andy sure is the delay reverb master. great stuff
Great video as always, thanks Andy! My favorite reverb/delay+ pedals are The Wash v2/tap (Hungry Robot) and Minim (Old Blood Noise Endeavors). Both provide really beautiful textures.
I just got the Minim and second this. how are you running it in terms of pedalboard spot?
Paul Zenke. I have The Wash (v1). Such a beautiful pedal (looks and sound)!

I know there are many awesome options for delay today. But, I love my old Dan Echo.

NUX Atlantic is a great option for around $120-$160 depending on the seller
Andy rules.
RV6 FTW
Hoping for the Keeley Caverns to add a tap tempo jack. Mr Keeley if you are seeing this 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
No fender reflecting pool?
How you think these would do with vocals or synth?
Amazing as always Andy.
To Andy or anyone else who might know, just what guitar is he using in the beginning, the green tele with p90 esque pickups?
Dan Giampietro I think it’s a Grayling by Gray Guitars

Spring reverb in the strymon d tape delay, wish you could have it on independently though...
What brand is the guitar at the beginning?
Was that first composition, with the SA Collider, based off a Motoi Sakuraba piece (sounded straight out of Star Ocean 2)??
I can see how one can go down this rabbit hole pretty quickly
I would add to the list:
-GFI Specular Tempus
-Old Blood Noise Endeavors Rever
-Chase Bliss MOOD

Caverns V2 is the best buy for me this year
Just here for Andy's playing.
Does anyone make a Reverb/Delay pedal with ping pong delay and ability to use reverb + delay at same time?
What should you look for in a reverb pedal when you want to use it for a synth.
A bit late but stereo in and stereo out jacks on the pedal ✌

The avalanche run is amazing. Wonder what the low budget ones are. Time to watch this.
@Andy Martin oh awesome. But tap tempo is my preference. It's a nice pedal though.

Impotant one missing - KMA Cirrus.

Should get that Dual Delphine Delay up in here.
Honesty for the price its hard to beat the rv 6 i have a flint too and i travel with the rv6-tr-2

The El Capistan can be considered for this as well surely?
What?! No Sky-5000?
How well does the nux atlantic hold up compared to the other pedals?
Pretty well, I use it with a synth. I prefer it to a dispatch master which I also have. NUX has a lot more options.

Holy hell i cant get enough of this jam and fat/chunky sound.
