When Johnny Tran said " A couple or SR20s a pull a premium before race wars" was wrong SR20 is a Nissan engine and the cars in the bays were Honda Civics ( the motor oil in mouth scene)
When vin said 9 seconds flat, he’s referring to how fast that car can go from zero to a 1/4 of a mile. Whenever you hear someone say 10 second car, that’s how fast a car can go from zero to a quarter mile. Not sure if you know, but when Jesse said “a 2JZ engine”, he’s referring to the model of the engine. The 2JZ is a legendary and revered engine in the JDM car community.

The beginning. I still remember watching this in theaters in 2001. I never thought as a 23 year old then that a 44 year old would be getting ready for a 10th installment. Me and some friends went to pay are respects at his crash site. Thousands of cars where there. Including some of the original cars from the movies.

Actually a car that is capable of doing the quarter mile in 10 seconds or under is consider a fast car specially if the car is a dally driver so yeah a quarter mile is not a 10 seconds race it could take more or it could take less time than 10 seconds a dragster can do the quarter mile i think in under 4 seconds i haven't seen professional drag racing in a long time so they could be faster now
Paul Walker passed away part way part-way through production of Furious 7. There were discussions regarding whether they should finish the movie or not, and in the end the movie was finished and Paul's two brothers helped out as stand-ins to refilm and finish some of his shots for the final edit.

The "10-second" car does a quarter mile in ten seconds from start to finish. The quarter mile is the standard racing distance for these types of cars and these types of races. Another fun fact; during the racing scenes, all the racers and cars and the people who are extras were part of the actual racing community in Los Angeles at the time. The production team put out fliers and ads saying they were going to film this type of car film in X location at Y time and "show up if you'd like to be in the movie". As you can see, quite a few people turned up, dressed to impress and with their cars primped and primed and ready for the big screen :) All the B-roll from those scenes were taken with the actual racers in their own cars. Apparently they had a lot of fun - I can believe that.
when car guys like me say " 8 second car" or "10 second car", it means how fast i can go from 0 to 1320 feet, or a 1/4 mile. so a car/vehicle that can go 10 seconds or less in a quarter of a mile, is fast, around 800-1000 horsepower.
I remember watching this in the theater. I had a 92 Civic hatch with a b18a swap, lowered, with a janky body kit, lol. Shit was hot back then, lol. Also, the import scenes still huge because car culture will never die
23:00 when Dominic screams NOS and then the car explodes that is a little over the top. Nos allows the engine to burn more fuel by providing more oxygen during combustion. The increase in oxygen allows an increase in the injection of fuel, allowing the engine to produce more horsepower. It's not flammable at a low pressure/temperature, but it delivers more oxygen than atmospheric air by breaking down at elevated temperatures, about 570 degrees. Just some useless information
Car culture and car modification is still MASSIVE. I’m certainly still involved, though never quite like they do in these movies. Most people I’ve been around were more into making the cars go, stop, and turn faster, without regard to appearance.

26:22 The racers like to race a quarter mile and they like to take times so if you get 10 seconds in the quarter mile from a stand still to the quarter mile mark then you got yourself a 10 second car🏎️
_”10-second car”_ referenced how fast it was in the 1/4 mile; anywhere from 10.99 to 10.00 seconds. For a street car in 2001, “10 second car” for the street was VERY fast. Today with technology for ICE (internal combustion engines) and Electric, it is a lot more achievable. Tesla Model S P100D is a 10-second car and the Plaid is a 9-second car. 9-second car is the new benchmark.
Ten second car means you can go 1/4 mile in 10 seconds. The funny thing about the Fast and Furious series is they have an infinite number of gears. They always find that one extra gear to give them the speed they need.
There is an art to weight displacement in cars, you want the car to be light enough to accelerate quickly but not too light that the wheel torque exceeds the grip of the tires. The Engine provides the weight on the front wheels, the sound system would provide weight on the back wheels and everything else would be made lighter, racing seats, alloy wheels, air foils and spoilers to increase air pressure in the areas that need it. @@alanalopez2086 Yet she can’t remember a single thing about learning those skills? Im sorry but no, that’s not how amnesia or muscle memory works. Suping up hondas and nissans etc started way before this, our hondas and my Maxima was tricked out back in 1985! Maybe during this movies’ time might have ‘boosted’ nitrous installations and gawdy paint jobs but so cal already had loud and fast ‘rice rockets’ as we called them. It’s ok, I’m Asian lol I can say it
The Civic driving under the truck is a real stunt, done by a female stunt driver named Debbie Evans. She also was Trinity's stunt performer during the highway chase scene in Matrix Reloaded
Oh damn. If you guys are going through the whole saga, y'all are in for a ride (heh). Enjoy! I love these movies unbashedly. Personally, I prefer the craziness of the later instalments ("Fast Five" is my personal favorite of the movies overall), as they concentrated more on the action and characters. But there is something quaint and nostalgic about seeing the street racing roots (even though I think "Tokyo Drift" is the only one really about racing, if we're being real). But you can't make a long-running franchise strictly based in the racing scene. The characters get older, and racing in general can't consistently be the theme when there's never any question that they can lose. Seeing them defy death in absurd ways? As stupid as it is, it's way more interesting to me lol. But to each their own! I hope you guys continue with the series past the first 2. There's a reason why these have kept going, and why they received bigger budgets, bigger box office, and relatively better reviews than the original core 3.
i actually disagree and think these movies arent well reviewed at all, and in hindside many have come to realize the superior quality and coherence of the earlier movies
@@zachanator2011 Maybe not the more recent entries like F9 or F10... even then, compare the reviews and audience reactions to the films from 5 and on, and the reviews and reactions are consistently higher than any of the original 3 movies. The later movies strive for something completely different than what the first 3 did, which is fair. It is up to personal tastes. But that being said, the action-oriented movies tend to hit with general audiences more than the racing-era ones ever did. NONE of these movies are coherent, don't get that twisted. But while the later movies are stupid movies that KNOW they're stupid movies, the first 3 are stupid movies that don't realize they're stupid movies.
A 10 sec car is basically a fast car that can go a quarter mile in under 10 seconds, anything above 10 like 15 16 or 17 ur car is basically slow & shouldn’t b racing
There's a short film between this one and the second one called Turbo Charged, which explains what happens after Brian lets Dom go away, and it directly leads to the second one.
Fun fact - the driver in the Ferrari F355 racing Toretto and Brian in the Supra is the co-producer of The Fast and the Furious franchise Neal H. Moritz.
Brian’s first car that he races is a Mitsubishi Eclipse. I wanted that car for years when I was a kid, because of the first two movies. That, and the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo (my dream car) and the Eclipse Spyder from the second movie. As for what the movies evolve into, audiences have evolved, so the filmmakers were smart to focus in on the action sequences and the heist heart of the films instead of the more niche racing culture. We need a video of just y’all comparing school experiences. For two people who went to the same school, Justin saw some shit. LOL

Paul Walker died during the making of the Fast and Furious 7 movie. The movie was only partly completed, they used Paul's brothers for certain parts and used certain clips from other movies in certain parts. the film's crew set about the task of producing some 350 additional shots of Walker to flesh out his role in the movie, 90 of which used archived footage of the actor from previous outtakes or shots from earlier Fast & Furious films, which were then relit and repurposed. The other 260 shots were completed by having Paul's brothers, Caleb and Cody, perform his scenes in character, then replacing their faces with CGI versions of Paul in post-production. As Weta VFX supervisor Joe Letteri explained in 2015 (via THR), the Fast & Furious 7 effects team created the CGI replacement for Paul Walker's face by first scanning his brothers to use them as a point of reference. It wasn't perfect but I think they did a great job.
God that makes me feel old I was 19 when fast and furious came out saw it in the theatre at the 3 times and started modding my old 1990 Pontiac Sunbird lol then a few years later my 99 Honda civic Si used to cruise through Niagara Falls up and down Clifton Hill with the soundtrack blasting 😂
So a 10 second car is a car that can finish a quarter mile in 10 seconds. Paul Walker's been in 5 or 6 movies. He did 80% of his scenes in Fast and Furious 7 before his unfortunate passing.
I was always aware of the movies and watched some of them on tv when they were on, but weirdly enough it wasn't until Paul's death that I totally connected to them. I binged all movies and mini-movies that were out at the time and later forced my then girlfriend to go to see Furious 7 with me😅 The family theme just took me

As well as the crowd she was around werent regulars and had those skills themselves as well. No telling how long she was around them either to brush up on some things. But seeing as her skills and knowledge have pretty much been imbedded in her brain since teens I don’t find it hard to believe some things would come back to her like second nature because they technically are.
@@alanalopez2086 Yet she can’t remember a single thing about learning those skills? Im sorry but no, that’s not how amnesia or muscle memory works. And it was never established that she was an expert level shooter since her teens. Im not saying there isn’t a lot to enjoy but the franchise left the realm of believability and started to lack a satisfying cohesive story after 4-5.
Pay your respects to the late Paul walker r.i.p
🙏🙏🙏
Paul Walker made it to Fast 7. He died in the middle of filming
"JUSTIN" !! 🤣🤣 I like her reactions
I like how he can reach about 150+mph in a parking lot, but took a TON of Nitrous and 20 miles of road just to reach 140mph lol
Vin Diesel was a supporting actor in "Saving Private Ryan." His biggest leads were the "Pitch Black/Riddick" movies and the "xXx" movies.
Keep it going!! one of the best action franchises ever!! A super fun saga!!
It’s ok, I’m Asian lol I can say it
This is my favorite Paul Walker movie. Rest in Peace. Gone too soon.
The Civic driving under the truck is a real stunt, done by a female stunt driver named Debbie Evans. She also was Trinity's stunt performer during the highway chase scene in Matrix Reloaded
10 second car can go a quarter miles in less than 10 seconds
I whole-heartedly agree!
i actually disagree and think these movies arent well reviewed at all, and in hindside many have come to realize the superior quality and coherence of the earlier movies
Love this series! Do them all please!!!
“Hey…. Hey idiot 😂”
That’s funny asf
This and the next 2 are the best of the franchise
They should have changed the title after Walker.
Youre not gonna tell me 2 Fast 2 Furious is better than Fast 5 🤨
@@polterkat Yeah 👍💯 because it was all about racing 🐎 hahaha 😂🤣😂🤣😂
A 10 sec car is basically a fast car that can go a quarter mile in under 10 seconds, anything above 10 like 15 16 or 17 ur car is basically slow & shouldn’t b racing
There's a short film between this one and the second one called Turbo Charged, which explains what happens after Brian lets Dom go away, and it directly leads to the second one.
10 seconds is the average time for one of them street races they do
I remember going street racing after this movie 😆
a 10 second is a car that can travel a quater mile in 10 seconds.
53:57 And Dom “threw a rod” out of the engine block. That would seize the entire motor dead. Hollywood magic allowed that car to keep running. 😆
Not necessarily, I’ve seen people finish laps with windows punched into the block. You’re mostly right but i can happen.
Whole series🔥
LOL
You're in for one hell of a ride!
11:57 you’re giving her a lot of false information. Lol when non car people talk cars
Vin Diesels first movies: Strays and Pitch Black, and a short roll in Saving Private Ryan.
My feelings are still hurt from Jane saying she's going to call the cops because of the exhaust smoke from Bumble Bee😮💨🤦🏾♂️ dude could have been trying to get to work while being in a bad financial situation.
I’ve never modded my cars, but I bought a 2021 Supra because of these movies.
"Hey Idiot "!! Classic line Jane, my favorite part of the whole review..
Damn Jane looks great with the brown hair. Great reaction by the way to the first Fast and Furious movie. Brian's green car is the Eclipse GSX, Dom's first car is the Mazda RX-7, the Orange car is the Toyota Supra and the Black car that Dom uses at the end was the 1969 Dodge Charger
Hope you two are having an great and awesome day ❤️
Racing stripes 100% make a car go faster... it's science! 🤣
10hp per square inch of sticker. 😂
For 2 fast 2 furious There's a prelude that shows what happens after the 1st one. It shows Paul walker leaving LA
So a 10 second car is a car that can finish a quarter mile in 10 seconds. Paul Walker's been in 5 or 6 movies. He did 80% of his scenes in Fast and Furious 7 before his unfortunate passing.
Yes! The one that started it all.
I love watching y’all reactions I be feeling like I’m there with you guys watching it
I was always aware of the movies and watched some of them on tv when they were on, but weirdly enough it wasn't until Paul's death that I totally connected to them. I binged all movies and mini-movies that were out at the time and later forced my then girlfriend to go to see Furious 7 with me😅
The family theme just took me
6' and '7 are my favorites but I love them all. My dad is an awesome mechanic he can fix just about, anything. He's also does carpentry and electrical work. He was a D.J. when he was younger. My dad had 5 cars when I was a kid,and he got me into cars.
this is the most bizarre movie series in history. they went from stealing dvd players to being international spies and going to space in a car with a rocket in the back.
You guys sold me on the ridge wallet immediately! Thanks!
Hope you enjoy it!
Why cause he said that it was nobody's car so that's why they shoot it up
10 second car, feom what i remember, is one thay can go from the start to end of a .25mile strip within 10sec.
I got my first DVD player around mid 1997. Back then, the cheapest one was $400USD. I sold off most of my Laserdisc collection to get one with 5 movies.
Paul walker's first car was a 1995 mitsubishi eclipse and the 10 second car is a 1995 Toyota Supra
Vin diesel first cas was a 1997 mazda rx7 and a 1970 Dodge Charger
Mitchelle rodriguez car was a 1997 Nissan 240SX
Mias car was a 1994 Acura Integra
Ja rules car was 1994 Acura Integra
Leon's car was 1995 Nissan Skyline GT-R R33
Jesse's car was a 1995 Volkswagen Jetta
Vince car was 1999 Nissan Maxima
Johny tran car was a 2000 Honda S2000
*I never knew Jane was so innocent. She asks a lot of "how", "why" and is surprised by a lot of very common things. 😂 Most people these days don't have anywhere near that level of innocence. We've seen and/or experienced way too much in life. Jane, be glad that in this day and age you are the way you are. Be very glad.*
Back when it was all about racing
yep
The movie literally starts with a heist and is about an undercover cop, what do you mean all about racing
@@gontse1386the “heist” scenes are probably in total 15 mins of the whole movie…….racing……an hour 15. Seems like it’s more about racing than the heist to me.
Go old-school racing move... Cannonball Run.
I remember the commercials for these never saw the movies till recently really. It did get me into watching lots of street racing vids on UA-cam back in the day lol
A car that can run 10 seconds or under in a quarter mile!
I always get annoyed at ad segments, but ridge is one I can tolerate because their products truly are really great
Some facts about this movie are as follows. This movie franchise started modern car modifying culture. If you look on UA-cam, you’ll see a lot of videos on car modifying. 2: those people standing around prior to the beginning street race are actual street racers. 3 there were 2 Toyota Supras built for this movie. 4 during the scuffle between Tran and Dom in the race wars location, vin accidentally broke one of the security guards noses.
