Watching all these Phish videos here making me want to check out the live concert experience, crowds of chilled out people high on music & herbage ✌ No fights or arguments, just appreciative receivers of the flow...nice fretwork & keys here, too
Once they tour again, you should get to a show. It's the happiest place on Earth, an incredible experience. :)
It is an experience you won't soon forget. If you go to 3-4 in row.. the experience is different every night, but the vibe is the same. That's how it was with every Grateful Dead show I was at. That's what kept me going. It was not knowing what was going to be played or what would happen with the jams in the second set. I can't explain it, but you want more and more once it clicks.
It's ok watching Phish live videos if you've seen them. You can extrapolate. If you haven't, justice has not been served.
Seeing this live is always a joy no matter how many times I've seen it. It seems a little rare that this comes out these days.
I was tripping face when I last saw Phish live, way back in April '98; I was a senior in college. It was one of the very best experiences of my life.
When the first notes of Fluffhead rang out at the Garden on 8/5/17 the entire room exploded into cheers and I jumped a foot in the air, lol. Best live band that ever lived in the best venue in the world
I consider Phish composed pieces to be basically classical music using rock and roll instruments. And Trey is not only first chair guitar, he’s also the conductor.
And jazz 🍄🐟🍄
A d the composer 🌍
For anyone not all that familiar with Phish's history, this song has become a pretty special one, a fan-favorite. It's definitely one of the more complex, intricate songs (specifically the part after the singing, dubbed "Fluff's Travels"), and like some other old Phish songs, it fell out of the rotation by early 2000s, not being played at all during the "2.0 era," from 2001-2004. Then, at the band's reunion in March 2009, it was surprisingly chosen as the first song played.
I highly recommend finding a video of the beginning of that from 3/6/2009, as the crowd's reaction to hearing the opening is one of the most powerful moments in music I've run across. The song was played flawlessly that day (that has not always been the case), and it ended up being a very, very good sign that the band was back.
Always a favorite!
The Phish reactions are priceless Teez!!! Go see them live :DDDDDDDDDD
It’s awesome you mentioned that it almost seems like different song during the journey of a long song. Fluff head is actually a song made up of a few songs that they had in the 80s and continued to develop them and combine them until they came to this song which is a beautiful combination of all those previous songs.
Man we have to get you to a show. You'll catch the bug, I'm sure of it.
Already told him his first show’s ticket is on me, with one caveat-he has to stand in the first 50 rows with us. Maybe Forum next summer Teez??
Yeah the vibe at the live shows is something you cant get enough of.
We got u now Teez!
Phish is a next level band. History will prove kind to this band from VT
No other band has such high hopes from their fans and just deliver.
I will never get tired of screaming "WE SURE GOT SOME POWERFUL PILLS OOOOOH YEEEEEEAH!!!!" with 20,000 of my closest friends.
I have seen a "few" of their shows, started in '94. The nye shows at Madison Square Garden are always a celebration. This was the end of the first set and they would do 2 more that night (3 sets on nye). They start the third set just before midnight and pull off a stunt each year from golf cart marathon to dancers changing the stage into a giant ship. MSG is where they thrive and they did 13 straight there in summer of '17 with out playing a repeat. Definitely catch them live when things get rolling again.
i saw Phish a few times in their earlier daze, and they used to have mini-trampolines on stage they would jump on, and throw giant balls into the crowd. The crowd would pass the balls around the floor, up in the air, and then eventually get them back to the stage, for the next show. Always a good time, and great music at any Phish show. Thanks.
The trampolines are still a staple during YEM. And you got to experience a Big Ball Jam live...Lucky. My second show in ‘96 I got to see a rotation jam. What other band can keep a jam going while the members switch instruments?
They used to have a secret language
“Grinding” to the beat… Love it!
Can’t wait to watch this one! Respecting the grind on these long-ass reactions!!
You should have smoked the J first and then listened. Go see them live if/when you have the chance.
I'm gonna wait til later to watch this one when I can twist one too.
Phish is definitely pretty high, up there
You described the Phish “formula” and there is no greater example than the song Tweezer. It’s probably the biggest Phish song you haven’t reacted to yet, and it has been the source of some of their greatest jams. The song and jam are open-ended, allowing the band to freely explore wherever they feel like that night. But later in the show - often as the encore (or even occasionally the next night) - the band cranks up the Tweezer Reprise, which is based on the central theme of Tweezer but is its own song, thunderous and show-stopping.
Love your reactions, man
Should he do 12/2/95? Something straightforward like 6/18/94? I know he likes video, so maybe 12/30/19 which is a freaking masterpiece??
Tweezers fest
Bomb factory
Tahoe 😎
@@eliotter2 not sure what Tahoe means
Cant suggest enough to everyone that seeing them live is important for your mental well being. To know there is that many people willing to put the BS aside and have a good time. Even if just for a night. Thanks Teez
Teez, you nailed it again. This song goes through a lot of changes and sections and each section even has it's own name. Keep up the great work!
Well - they have their own name because they were originally other separate songs that were compiled into the “Fluff’s Travels” section of Fluffhead.
Yesssssssssss!
Throw in a little 'Auld Lang Syne' for New Years is off the chart.
Punch the ticket take the ride 😊 gotta get to a show
Bro definitely do go to a phish show. It’s a legitimate religious experience
Please see them live if you can!
They're growing on me Pshish...defo Zappa & early Genesis vibe...get lost in this Prog Rock'esque Laberythn !!
That shit is gorgeous bro
🦆 YES!
I still don't think any Fluffhead can rival Clifford Ball '96. Probably 8.16.96 off the top of my head? The last 3 minutes or so is my favorite few minutes of Phish. Shredding. love your reactions always
I don't know, the Fluffhead peak from the Hampton reunion was pretty big (3/6/2009, for anyone happening across this comment who wants to check it out and isn't already aware of the date; it was the first show back after the official breakup in 2004). I've listened to it easily several hundred times, and it still gets me today. It was such an ambitious pick for the first song of 3.0, and boy did it deliver.
Clifford Ball is still hands down my favorite. Not one note out of place and the last three minutes, well... you said it. It’s when they announced they’d arrived to the world. Slight attendance bias as it was my first show but holy hell
Elevated Prime did edit her
If you want some big boi, otherworldly, face melting Phish jams, then check out Twist from 4-2-98. They were uploaded years ago so it’s split into 2 videos, but worth it if you can figure out how to play them without too much of a gap. (Maybe just play the second one when there’s like 3 seconds left of the first or something?)

I also want to add, I suggest that this should be done late night, after a j or two, in the comfiest sweats you got

I'm back haha
Yea that was the finale befor the next hour and a half encore haha.
We're trying to tell you something
Why do I feel like your always rolling a jay while doing these reactions?
You need to roll two joints while reacting to Sublimes “Smoke two joints” while you’re bullshitting....
