@@AugustWest888 excellent video (both from official movie releases). I’m very partial to the 74 versions with the “feelin groovy” jam. I love the 89 version partially because you get to see Jerry and Brent quietly laughing about Bobby’s shorts (at least that’s how I saw it 😂)
Perhaps my favorite Jerry solo--and that's saying something. It's glorious to see young people getting into the Dead. They had such devoted Deadheads for their live shows that someone once wrote that other bands play the same show every night to different people but the Dead play different shows every night to the same people.
You actually can’t really go wrong with the Grateful Dead. Hanging with them is the closest some of us will ever get to feeling like we went to Woodstock. Although, some folks here probably did get to go to Woodstock. Vibes for days.
Facts, i feel like that statement rings true for my generation for so many artists, music was a different experience back then and how we consumed it was too
Ironically, their Woodstock performance was pretty horrendous, as Jerry and Bob both discussed on Letterman. Apparently there was an electrical issue where they got a shock every time they touched their instruments 😂
way late here but , yea, no question video is preferred. there is a decent amount of ' mid ' Dead' avail, their movie includes a 2 nd DVD without dated interviews ( '74 ). someone made a video of one of the Concert from the Euro 72 tour, about 70 minutes I think, including 3 'pigpen' tunes. don't know how they did it but it's good - utube. plus there's a vid of a couple hours of a concert in Oregon , 71 ?

Bottle was dusty, but the liquor was CLEAN
😂🔥
Absinthe is green liquor
Anything of this performance is phenomenal. This is widely considered the best GD show ever.
now i need the visual show 🔥
@@TeezMcGee thing w the Dead, their songs are so visual, so rich, so many colors and landscapes. you didnt listen to the songs, you were in the song.
@@TeezMcGee you and every other deadhead. unfortunately, no video of this show exists.
@@TeezMcGeecheck out Christopher Hazard on youtube. He has AMAZING 4k restorations of full Grateful Dead shows
100%
This entire show, start to finish, is in the pantheon of greats. Next level greatness.
It is so amazing how this song - and especially this version - never fails to lift my mood.
Just like that the Dead bring you into the world of 1920's prohibition. Composing , songwriting and storytelling at it's finest.
and the great depression too. the pictures they tell are so vivid.
Yep, I love,, love the classic stuff with Keith and Donna era.
It's all good from the Grateful Dead. And it's all fire. Every song hits.
For video, try China Cat Sunflower > I Know You Rider from Alpine Valley 1989. Video easily found on UA-cam.

He suggested one of the greatest guitar solos from the dead. Good stuff. Jerry knew every note that went with every chord being played.
This was such a great live show. Whole thing has some killer versions of songs.
First, before I hear this...one of the best live recordings in total...period.! from that time period..go ahead...hit PLAY.😊😊😊
The Dancing on the Sreets is good too

Putting a time limit on songs is like not eating anything with more than three ingredients.
It cuts out a lot of the best.
Hope you're well Teez and fam!

Listen to the whole show and change your life.
No no - " the bottle was dusty but the liquor was clean" 😊
Yeah the Grateful Dead didn't see green liquor either the line was the liquor was clean lol
theoretically it could have been green chartreuse. but then the song, like that horrible booze, would suck. lol
