Giving a Second Life to an Unwanted Tumbler

- Sometimes we have winners, and sometimes we have ones that don't make the cut. In this video I show you a tumbler that didn't meet the customers expectations. So I sanded it down and I'm giving it a second chance. I hope some of these techniques help you next time you needed to make a drab tumbler into a fab tumbler!

Love the cup, so pretty! I had no issues watching the video or seeing the cup. People that can’t see the cup should adjust their brightness level on their devices.

I have 2 cups that were returned to me because they weren't what the customers wanted. The cups are stunning!!! I kept on for myself and gave the other one to my step mom, I just had to alter the names. I really love how your finished product came out! Im all about the silvers!

Tried it today and the video is perfect. I have a question though. I’m making a peakaboo and there is sticky residue when I take off my vinyl. Any idea if it will ruin the shine of the glitter if I resin over it or should I try to remove it?
Just use rubbing alcohol and a paper towel to remove the residue. If it’s still there sand it down a bit with fine grit sandpaper 🤗

With the clear spray do you find that the semi gloss dulls your metallic vinyls? I’ve always skipped sealing when I have metallics because I’m scared to lose that shine.

No, there is no comparison. Trust me, now if you were making clocks, serving trays or lazy susans, I may take pics of my unwanted items, but there is no way I can share a pic of the tumblers! These are a challenge! You got this , not so much for me, but that’s ok, I enjoy trying new things.

I am bummed too! I have half saying it’s working fine and half it’s not working. Hoping tomorrow UA-cam fixes these issues.

Do you need torch or can you use a heat gun?
You can use a heat gun, but I find a torch produces a better finish.

Thank you for this!! I have been staring at my newest cup and finally the first one for myself. Question: Do you have a video on properly using a butane torch? I feel after a few months I'm not sure I am using mine right. Trying to keep the flame far enough but not too close to my epoxy as one time I lit a flame ball on a cup lol.
Do you actually touch the torch flame to the cup or just get close to it ? Thanks. Love all your videos!
I do very lightly and very quickly. If you leave it in one spot too long you could cause the epoxy to smoke and that is no good.
You shouldn’t have monogrammed it. You should have sent it to the customer that rejected it and asked if she was interested. Bet money she would have sapped it up!

Seems like the brightness level is way too high on the video. It even caused a glare on cup you use with your info in the opening.
