One of Jordan’s colleagues has gone on record saying that Jordan speaks opinion pretty often and delivers it as fact. Because of his platform, which he created, on purpose, to achieve fame and attention, this is incredibly destructive more so than it is helpful. The bottom line is that people are easily manipulated due to our laziness. We would rather have some tell us something than research on our own. Read a book, formulate your own opinions... then and only then, if Jordan’s opinions agree with your own, watch and listen to him as religion, which is what many of you are doing unknowingly.
The first part is demonstrated this past week with the GameStop saga. The slightly more conservative types did actually punish wall street by being more organized in the online realm where the transactions take place instead of just pitching a few tents like occupy did in a street where barely any actual trading took place anyway.
“Situational reminders to the importance of physical cleanliness, such as asking participants to wipe their hands with antiseptic wipes, tends to lead a self reported increase in political conservatism.” ... another unexpected way COVID’s changing the world as we know it?
isn't that why Jung invented the wonderful word enantiodromia, flipping from one emotion to its opposite - sex is sometimes wonderful but then suddenly turns disgusting
Sometimes Dad's hurt and have feelings too. Dad's and males are human beings, and decent caring mums and women know that. Our spouses, brothers and sons, feel very deeply and suffer pain. Just look at the male suicide rate. We have to start talking about men, and it's only women who can do it, and stand up for them, because it seems these days the moment men stand up, they are called "toxic". I proudly stand for my brother and sons.
He mentions Jonathan Haidt, a very interesting writer. ... I wonder how big his class was. ..anyway, sex: yes once the pleasurable feelings are gone your perceptions change. Just like after dinner the dirty plates are sort of disgusting if left for long.
I wish i wasn't as discust sensitive as I am. My nostrils close and it's hard to breathe (I thought I was developing asthma but I wasn't) and I also have acidic reflux and gag reflexes that make me feel like I'm vomiting all the time
Peterson himself is like this. He has a hierarchical view of the world and if you're making a small wage, or you're not near the top of a hierarchy, you disgust him. That's why he wants to "clean" young men up. Forget the fact that people like Jung, or Wittgenstiein, or Buddha, or Miyamoto Musashi, or van Gogh, were wanderers and outcasts when doing their best work. Outside hierarchies.
I would be interested in hearing Jordan's thoughts on conservatism and COVID (i.e. explaining why people who tend to be more conservative are less likely to wear masks), because this seems to be opposite to the theory that cleanliness/disgust and conservatism are related. Then again, it might bypass the disgust circuits if conservatives believe COVID is a hoax... Thoughts?
In America, Trump clearly believes COVID to be a non serious virus that does not necessitate the wearing of a mask. Conservatives by their very nature will conform to whatever their leader says and does and not wearing a mask has become a sign of political alliance and that is the reason that they are not wearing masks.
He has some views typically associated with right wing, but he definitely isn’t “right wing” per se. He literally said that marginalized groups are disproportionately affected by disease, which is a very leftist statement and looking at the numbers in many countries right now, it’s not untrue at all. Really interesting discussion.
He's very articulated and decently principled and I respect that. Yet I disagree with many of his points. The problem with "applied psychology" is that it lacks formal rigor and is mainly based on chasing statistical correlations. Basically every 25 years or so (a generation and a half) the new statistics invalidate the previous ones and new conclusions are drawn. The new statistics change because of technological and social changes - this game of ever changing statistics exposes the lack of immutable (or fundamental) principles. For example, I certainly cannot agree with the assertion that "agreeability is not a good predictor of success" - as long as you cannot say whether agreeability is contingent or not then it is as good a predictor as anything.
There's no relationship between sex alone and disgust. The act of sex is a good thing if done responsibly, go wild. The issue is sexism and sex, that's where the disgust comes in.. The relationship between men and women has drastically deteriorated, men taking whatever colour pill and going "mgtow" or "incel" while engaged in pornography and picking up the sexist language is detrimental to sexual health because they are conflicted, they are attracted to something they hate, it is demented. Human beings are sexual beings but there is absolutely no room for sexual immorality and irresponsibility if we want to progress as a society.
The same as aggression and sex. Its an indication of fitness or repulsion in the lack thereof. Confidence and effort gets mediocrity over the top in many cases.

I can't comprehend what motivates your kind. Whatever it is, it's emotional and you can't control it.
@Psychonaut lol
I'm left wing and I give him likes on his videos because I wish I could thank him personally about the good impact some of his ideas had in my life..
I’m a leftie too. He has valid insights in a variety of things despite his opinion on trans people, which is fine it’s his opinion. Live and let live.
@@iloveny22"Im mentally challenged and I still enjoyed this" is how my brain read those. But bless that this is even reaching the intellectually deficient.
Our society is so well organized that digust is hidden away? Welcome to Vancouber Dr. Peterson.
This is a *very* interesting explanation for why women will feel disgust for attention from the men in lower rungs of society, despite fetishizing similar attention from men of higher status.
You know who else is hierarchical... Jordan Peterson. In his mind it's ALL about the hierarchy.
Disgusted people are just better at suppressing their inner carnal desires
@@RanchDressingPop-Tarts I know. At least now
When he's talking about hierarchical structures over egalitarian ones.. he's referring to penis envy.
Not often can you be the first to comment on a video that will change so many individuals for the better.
how is this video gonna change people's lives for the better????
He's behaving like he just ate a spicy pepper before he gave his lecture LOL
omg i cant stop seeing it tht way now
Well, from what he said, he went through a lot of gut pain before he became a strict carnivore, so that was in the "before" period....
@Lady Mercy Isn't that the truth...
How appropriate as well 😛
he is at work you know ;p;p;p could even be 6 or 5 am in the morning....
Disgust is the opposite of arousal

One of Jordan’s colleagues has gone on record saying that Jordan speaks opinion pretty often and delivers it as fact. Because of his platform, which he created, on purpose, to achieve fame and attention, this is incredibly destructive more so than it is helpful.
The bottom line is that people are easily manipulated due to our laziness. We would rather have some tell us something than research on our own. Read a book, formulate your own opinions... then and only then, if Jordan’s opinions agree with your own, watch and listen to him as religion, which is what many of you are doing unknowingly.
He looks quite unwell in this clip ... very obviously unwell. Glad he’s made a good recovery 👍
This is a clip from 2015 but posted five years after. The #20th session.
Seeing him like this makes me want to get on a beef, water and salt diet.
I have a friend that has a plumbing business and he like to say that plumbers save more lives than doctors, and I don't think he's lying
The first part is demonstrated this past week with the GameStop saga. The slightly more conservative types did actually punish wall street by being more organized in the online realm where the transactions take place instead of just pitching a few tents like occupy did in a street where barely any actual trading took place anyway.
I think it's tearing him apart that he can't save the world cuz nobody will listen
Funny but still induces a disgust response.

isn't that why Jung invented the wonderful word enantiodromia, flipping from one emotion to its opposite - sex is sometimes wonderful but then suddenly turns disgusting
Without hormones we'd all find sex disgusting...
Interesting...
Nice! Interesting...... Energy needs to be used for healing Jordon..... We are here and can wait!
Clickbait. No discussion of sex
Wow, this is fascinating...
I really wanted to listen to this but the longer I heard him in pain, the more I just couldnt bring myself to listen to Internet dad
I almost closed it then realized if he had the strength to go and do this lecture, its the least we can do to listen and learn

Jordan Peterson is my internet Dad!!
My nostrils close and it's hard to breathe (I thought I was developing asthma but I wasn't) and I also have acidic reflux and gag reflexes that make me feel like I'm vomiting all the time
Hello Dr Peterson Warching
Your lecture on Sex and Disgust
( Exactly ) Hope you are well💙
Please go on LBRY or Bitchute. There are no annoying You Tube ads there and videos can still be monetized through tips
Love your lecture ❤
It hurts to see him ill.
Disgust is an emotion in the Pixar movie Inside Out. Just putting that out there, folks.
What prevents us from being poisoned physically and socially. Always liked that definition.
He brings an interesting perspective as I suffer with issues of being clean and sex.
Love JP. Hate clickbait.
Spray paint graffiti I recently encountered under a bridge in SouthWestern Oregon. "Girls only want one thing; and IT"S DISGUSTING!"
Flu has never been THAT dangerous. Conservative people are not high enough in open mindedness to easily believe that WHO crap.
You've been brainwashed wearing masks is an absolute insanity
I love this man !!
Title: The relationship between Disgust and Sex
Actual Video: 100% Disgust discussion, 0% Sex
yeah im gonna keep listening to this and thn gonna forgetit all when time comes
Amen to Dr Peterson
Have you considered that what you call 'well ordered' with high 'disgust sensitivity' is not itself neuroticism?
That is a very interesting comparison and makes a lot of sense.
Just started watching this video. I wonder if he's going to bring up the lion king.
Shut up Pumba😀😀😀
This one is harder to comprehend
This clip is from 5 years ago. You do realize that?
The comments are annoying and he is not their uncle
He has some views typically associated with right wing, but he definitely isn’t “right wing” per se. He literally said that marginalized groups are disproportionately affected by disease, which is a very leftist statement and looking at the numbers in many countries right now, it’s not untrue at all. Really interesting discussion.
He is just stating facts.
I think a person who deals with disgust with dislike CASUAL sex. Not sex in general .
Human beings are sexual beings but there is absolutely no room for sexual immorality and irresponsibility if we want to progress as a society.
ever since I started emptying my storage unit and putting things away I became disgusted by sex.
What about the people at the top who don't follow the rules ? Oh, yeah. That's called corrupt.
Nobody follows the rules.
If they are at the top they are following some distinctive and important types of rules. You’re using ‘rules’ simplistically.
He’s talking about the meta rules; the rules that govern the hierarchy. Some of these rules are never written or spoken.
He called them impure
What are the rules?
god damnit full lecture full lecture. where can i find it???

The same as aggression and sex. Its an indication of fitness or repulsion in the lack thereof. Confidence and effort gets mediocrity over the top in many cases.
It’s fascinating that the American “conservative” view on Covid precautions has become hostility toward hygiene measures. Very strange times.
@Lao Zi How about you change your mask, brush your teeth, and wash your underwear every once in a while?

Jordan needs pain relief. I hope this was recorded long ago and he is feeling better now.
So what does that say about people who like bitter tasting things? A higher tolerance to disgust?
This must’ve been when he was dealing with his autoimmune issues...you can tell he’s in pain.

Some people, like myself, were always horrible test takers. I'd probably be in the same boat if I took an IQ test because I'd be worried what is going to be on it. Maybe the way to do it is actually disciplining yourself to not worry how fast you are going to get something done because it only ever made me slower to complete anything.

I have never experienced disgust until I traveled to a third world country. Ironically, if you point out why your disgusted during your visit, the people within the culture will reject and hate you. Live by the collectivism and continue the cycle or be an outcast.
