Great video. I had the chance to see Carolyn Brandy play at the World Rhythm Festival in Seattle quite a few years ago. She played conga and bata. Blew me away. Favorite musical performance for me. I know several Bembe rhythms that I learned from Bill Matthews (he studied with Carolyn so he has probably learned his rhythms from her) and Arturo Rodriguez and have been learning/playing a bunch of Bembe stuff in the past six months or so mainly through Michael Spiro and Jesus Diaz's conga master class website. They have something like 29 or 30 Bembe videos on the site.
