“The Good Old Days” is the clearest encapsulation of what my life is like right now. It was true when I released it a year ago, and it’s true today. I love having a family of my own; being a husband and a father has given me so much more than I ever imagined it could. I try to be present and not sweat the small stuff. This part of my life, for all its challenges, is so joyful. I want to appreciate that every day. That’s what this song is all about. I’m so grateful to everyone who’s grabbed hold of this tune in the last year. It feels a little like letting people read my journal, but I’m glad folks are reacting to that honesty.

You are an amazing singer. I never could have kids but this song reminds me of growing up with my parents and 2 sisters. I sure miss my childhood and parents who have passed. 😢
