Kevin Windham is one of the smoothest most technical riders to ever grace a dirtbike. He's also the greatest ambassador the sport of MX & SX will ever know. KDUB #14
You got that Right ! They are all worried standing on the track talking about K-Dub's Giant Massive Cods @0:17. The Motor and Suspension on the Factory Honda had to be fitted with Military Spec components and Cheater Top-End for him and his Cods. Windham was a Legend !
Windham had the most buttery smooth riding style. K-Dub & Mcgrath had the smoothest, sickest looking riding styles out of anyone in the '90's. They were definitely the 2 riders I tried to emulate when it came to my riding style. His seat bounce whips always stood out to me too, they just looked so much better than everyone elses. Def an MX/ SX legend!
Windham is a cool customer. I sat and had drinks with him at Denver Marriott bar in 2011. Just a bunch of guys drinking at a bar. The end of night I finally acknowledged who he was paid the bar bill. Both team Honda rigs were in the parking lot.
Kentucky Country Boy & Red Head Racing That’s an awesome story dude, one to tell the kids, nice work. Those guys from earlier days just way more chilled than the current crop prob why K dub had such a long career, good dude.
Absolutely! I always loved Coop and Henry! Remember the Fox gear ads in the magazines that showed Henry taking off his jersey and showing that enormous scar that went from basically his stomach near his waist and then around his side and up his back? The caption said "whats stopping you?" if I remember correctly. Dude was/is a hero in my book for sure!!
It takes something that few people have and that is how to deal with fear and adrenaline every technique on riding a bike can be taught from jumping to turning the bike but you can't teach some one on how to deal with fear and the adrenaline that comes with it you either have that or you don't and if you have that you know it
F--king UNREAL!!! Kevin Windham is super sick the kid at the beginning is like "no way man" & that to me is the best part cause K-dubs almost twice his age. just shows you how gifted he is.
Justin Bogle is the kid at the beginning and he is a beast and jumps most things first. So for him to be sketched out makes Kdub that much more amazing
i have no idea what is it but i think kevin is one of the best rider there will ever be , he has alot of heart into and love this sport , to me hes the greastest rider there will ever be i never seen any one like him ride before , he pushes, takes challenges doesnt quit. i mean look at him he is 34 years old he almost beat ryan villopoto hes 26. hey windham i hope you recover dont go hurting your self trying to be a hero , your my hero and im sure you are to many others.
I watched him in Orlando citrus bowl. He did a huge quad trying to beat Jeremy McGrath .Kevin landed into a turn. I actually felt the thud of the impact it echoed in stadium he was a beast. I don’t know how he hung on. He pegged the throttle. Turned left and blasted after McGrath Jeremy won but damn Kevin windham was awesome!!!
I miss seeing him do those transfers, but I'm so happy to see him walk away before needing a wheelchair controlled with a straw. Dude was absolutely insane and awesome!
In all seriousness, if he was at that point in the race and he waded isolated and he could see that landing spot was also clear would be hell of a trick to pull, probably gain 10 seconds.
What happened to Supercross no one does anything cool like his anymore... just willies and stoppies... I was doing willies and stoppies when I was like 7
@@dawhiteeazye2466 I remember that. In fact I think he used to be mic'd up while doing them. He'd do a track lap to show/talk about the track then hit a badass transfer and call it a night haha.
Factory or Semi-Factory Honda with a HYDRAULIC CLUTCH?? I guess Semi-Factory Honda is closer to reality and probably the reason he could have it and not be told NO WAY since it is not like the bikes we sell. Kinda cool & something that I had not picked up on watching & being a part of the MOTO WORLD for 50++ years. Learn something new everyday, sorta, at my age maybe every 2-3 days as I don't want to overload my grey matter by having to figure out where to store that new tid-bit of hot info!!!

KDUB #14
true that love Kevin
@Kiryufan That's awesome bro, definitely no need to be surprised though, he's a very cool dude, very approachable.
AP kind of reminds me of Windham
He actually retired because the bike was starting to have trouble hauling his balls around the track
loganh33 fucking sent that
Lmao kudos to k dubb

Massive Airtime! Thank you for all the great years of racing Kevin Windham!!!
"It's easy till it goes wrong" story of my life.

Kentucky Country Boy I met Kevin in Washougal, he's a very cool dude. My favorite rider by far. 👍

I have had the honor of watching him race a couple times in Washougal Wa.
Gonna miss seeing Kevin doing transfer jumps during opening ceremonies. Enjoy your retirement K-Dub!
No doubt one of those all time heros like Doug Henry, Guy Cooper...
Bob Hannah Jeremy McGrath
Damon Bradshaw, Jeff ward
Well said!

My all time favorite AMA racer, and I do miss the huge beard and hair. That was solid cool.
Those transfer jumps were amazing. Big enough for the AMA and FAA to be concerned. Did you file a flight plan?
Kevin is one of my favorites, I miss seeing him at the race line. I would love to meet him one day.
I met him back in 2009 and still have his sign poster on my wall 10 years later
Pretty much as far as possible in the building/ arena
And yes incredibly smooth
Love coming across this every once in a while
Kdub Is an absolute legend
Man i remember him from when I was a kid he was the man
One of my favorite RIDER history of supercross great jumps
Although awesome jump Kevin Windom tought me most of everything I know. Jason Falcon 76 I'd be not nervous racing Kevin but mad respect....!❤️🏁🇺🇲💯🚁
I'm 5' 2" and weigh 90 pounds. Would this be a first good jump for me to try?

Fucking go for it bro. YOLO!

I was shooting the series and was there on press day, it was gnarly!
I was always surprised that his sponsors let him do the pre race jumps
F--king UNREAL!!! Kevin Windham is super sick the kid at the beginning is like "no way man" & that to me is the best part cause K-dubs almost twice his age. just shows you how gifted he is.

Do I hear Hubert Rowland?
I watched him in Orlando citrus bowl. He did a huge quad trying to beat Jeremy McGrath .Kevin landed into a turn. I actually felt the thud of the impact it echoed in stadium he was a beast. I don’t know how he hung on. He pegged the throttle. Turned left and blasted after McGrath Jeremy won but damn Kevin windham was awesome!!!
beyond buttery smooth
You can hear them iron balls clanking together as hit that jump!
I miss seeing him do those transfers, but I'm so happy to see him walk away before needing a wheelchair controlled with a straw. Dude was absolutely insane and awesome!
Living legend!
One of the all time greatest!
I'd be stoked doing the setup berm2berm jump leading to the real jump!
So much air with balls so heavy...natural phenomenon
Got to be a bubble off sometimes... Windham has done some of the wildest transfers!
Its unfortunate he makes it look so easy. Makes it hard for people to appreciate what he did.
Miss his intro to the events! They arent as fun now
Kevin would do opening ceremonies,he would jump from one section to another , that weren't even connected
what was that race where Windham announced & just argued with Ralph Shaheen the whole time, lol.
He's the man hands down..
That's Hubert Rowland from Nitro Circus behind the camera in the first bit.
Huge fan of Windham

Windham is THE MAN...
Never doubt K Dub 💪🏻💪🏻
In all seriousness, if he was at that point in the race and he waded isolated and he could see that landing spot was also clear would be hell of a trick to pull, probably gain 10 seconds.
If you don't pay close attention you can miss the insanely technical berm to berm jump leading into it... haha
How can anyone dislike this???

What happened to Supercross no one does anything cool like his anymore... just willies and stoppies... I was doing willies and stoppies when I was like 7
There for a while Honda had him come out just to hit transfers after retiring
@@dawhiteeazye2466 I remember that. In fact I think he used to be mic'd up while doing them. He'd do a track lap to show/talk about the track then hit a badass transfer and call it a night haha.
this rider,is real beast...
looked cool
And to think he said he was uncomfortable learning to whip. Lol
you are the best man
RESPECT!!!
you are CRAZY!!!!! O_O!!!!!!! kevin the top!!!!!
AYE ! Get this guy a GoPro cam !
0:50 is THE JUMP!
Nice one!
apparently 1 person in here can do that jump better than Kevin Windham
what KDUB is doing is one way of getting a transfer spot. LOL
Factory or Semi-Factory Honda with a HYDRAULIC CLUTCH?? Us regular people have NO IDEA what commitment means when it comes to a REAL jump... Just sayin
