Johnny Joestar truly was the best JoJo protagonist. People like to throw "Selfish" and "sociopath" at him when hating on the guy, but honestly, that's exactly what makes him better character than just about every Joestar. He's actually human. It's refreshing to see a character that for once reacts to past tragedy with a rational, middle-road reaction. His behavior, motivation and personality are all imperfect. He does fight for himself and he will make bad decisions, but is ultimately a caring enough person to give a shit, still concerned for the safety of his allies and what people like Valentine cause. This is to say nothing about his relationship with Gyro, which is where the character gets *really* good. I sometimes get tired of the squeaky-clean protagonists, always in the white against the obvious villains. Johnny is that breakaway from that mentality.
Not to mention that JOJOLION SPOILERS, even after his part wraps up and he matures and develops as a person, he stills shows himself to be flawed and vulnerable, and he makes one last selfish act to save his wife, using the holy corpe on her, something unthinkable for most of JoJo's protagonist, mostly after their parts are over, and after seeing the consequences of said act, he comes full circle, acknowledges his mistake and gives his life to fix it. He was making mistakes and learning from them to the very end, he never truly stopped evolving, that's amazingly human for a JoJo protagonist.
I don't think he is evil, I think he is neutral or morally grey. He has a goal to walk again, and that is neither an evil or good goal. He would do anything to achieve that goal whether it means he be kind to people or he kills people. And while funny valentine has a better goal than johnny, funny valentine has worse morals than johnny. Johnny can actually care about people and would actually trust and protect people if they are good, funny valentine would kill people regardless of how good they are.
If Johnny really did become a saint, it would perhaps explain the wall eye phenomenon happening since in theory (based on my knowledge, which may be wrong) if Johnny's corpse resides in Morioh, wouldn't it make the whole area a sort of Devil's Palm? if so that would also explain why people are getting stands all over. Or it could be something related to both that and the rotation. Idk just spitballing ideas here.

To have a stand you need a soul and all living beings have souls. The soul is the consciousness of a living thing, the consciousness is the mind. So yes stands do exist.
Johnny Joestar is the closest to human he did mistakes, his motives and dark determination, his actions to his goals. “If you heart wavers don’t shoot”
I think the real question should be, "is Johnny really dead?" As in what if he is stuck in something of a Diavolo death loop? He wouldn't be able to do anything but die infinitely and have his stand preform it's last act of infinite exchange over and over for infinity. Johnny is dead, but what I meant to say was, he may not be dead in the traditional sense. His head was crushed, if somehow someone found a way to get the rock off, his head would still be mush, and if the rotation stopped, he'd just die forever. Nothing can save him, he is dead. But it's just an idea.
part 9 will be an american jojo tasked by the american government with collecting or recording the places made holy by the holy corpse in Johnny's trip
Part 7, all who knew of the corspe died for it but Mr.&Mrs.Steel. I also didnt think Johnny to be so bad. He was a dick when he had legs but he didnt seem bad during part 7.
I feel like the whole point of SBR was that Johnny was becoming less of a dick, like when he stayed to fight civil war in order to save Hot Pants and Gyro and then shifted his focus from owning the holy corpse to stopping Valentine or Dio from getting it. So it would make sense that at the end of his life once he had sacrificed himself he was living a more saintly life.
In my opinion, yes, Johnny did become a holy corpse, but the US government couldn't tell his and Jesus's bodies apart. So, they took his body back to america, but left Jesus's behind. Jesus's body is what made equivalent exchange possible in all spots in Morioh, as his holy power is thousandfold of Johnny's. So, I propose a theory. Josuke is 1/3 Kira, 1/3 Josefumi, and 1/3 Jesus. You may be wondering why equivalent exchange still worked with Kyo's fruits, but that's just because Josuke was nearby, and Jesus still has a subconscious presence in Josuke's mind, willing the fruits to be transformed. There is even more evidence for my theory. Why is Josuke the only Higashikata to not have "King" in his stand's name? Because he is above that, he is the KING of KINGS. Why are his and Giorno's stands Prince references? Because if god is the king of this universe, then his son is the PRINCE. (Symbolically for Giorno, and literally for Josuke.) Although not proven, my theory would be even more correct if the main villain for part 8 is a Diavolo counterpart, which is something that I also believe. Also, screw the theory that Jobin is going to have to do anything new with the plot. He's just a Rohan counterpart. But after all, Josuke is the jesus, or at least attempting to be the Jesus of his part, with his goal of curing diseases for both the Higashikatas and Holly, in his own JoJoLION.
You make some interesting points, but I have a REALLY hard time believe that they got Johnny and Jesus' corpses mixed up. Johnny had not been dead for that long, he would still be recognizable to the average people who knew him. Meanwhile, the holy corpse is clearly very old, but yet not rotten and decomposing. Mistaking it for ANY other corpse will take some explaining.
When you think that JoJolion name comes from Evangelion I think in a part of my mind that you're right and on some part you're wrong because I still believe that Jobin is Juda and Josuke is Jesus
@@BlandyBoiYT nah his reward for following the corpses orders was Tusk and newfound love and appreciation for life, before steel ball run he was a miserable cripple but after he was given an ultra powerful stand, married rina higashikita, and had a son. His wife was stricken with the stone illness, and when he tried to get rid of it with corpse it was transferred to his son, punishing him for his selfishness, and then again he used it for which he punished with death.
@@jmisrad4976 it wasn't that he was punished with death but rather he willingly transfered the illness/calamity to himself with Tusk as an act of penance. As for the Boulder, I think there's more to it that hasn't been revealed yet. Specially since the head doctor's ability is very similar to the corpse's ability, specially the tears blade that Lucy got from the corpse. But that's just what I think
I've got an idea for a discussion: If Jonathan form the original universe would gain a stand ability would it be a version of Tusk? Many consider that Hermit Purple-like stand Dio uses at the beginning of Stardust Crusaders to be Jonathan's, but we know that originally The World was meant to have all other stand's abilities, so that is not actually JoJo's "The Passion". Also, if we look at other characters in the SBR universe, it is clear that alternate universe counterparts tend to have the same stand, just with minor alterations (like Diego's The World or Kira's Killer Queen). So is it possible that Jonathan would have gained an alternate version of Tusk were he ever attain a stand?
Well i think that HERMITO PURPLE would have act forms because Jonathan had an incredible potential and i think his final form would be something like Stone Free
a multi-act stand doesn't really suit jonathan as a character bc he never really went through any significant changes in ideology. all he did was get stronger. he never really grew as a person in the same way that multi-act stand users tend to do. he was the same person throughout
@@zeldosan5138 Not every stand has to work the same way. Not to mention that that is exactly the point, he never really changed, so he would not have unlocked hermit purple act2 if that was a thing.
Johnny is a god tier jojo he isnt boring and bland like part 3 jotaro and he has the best character development out of any jojo and also he has one of the best stands to exist
I guess people forget Johnny was against having Lucy Steel stealing the corpse parts from the president, concerned about her and how mentally soft she was. He was also against over indulging in the little riddle with the tree. He also followed through with bringing Gyro's body back to Italy. Johnny also saved Higashikata with no motive from Sound Man. His dark persona came from desperation, a willlingness to discard everything for the sake of regaining the ability to walk.
The fact that johnny joestar sacrificed himself is a testament to his childhood. Being treated like you're just a burden, a useless burden, that it would have been better if you died instead, causes you to wish you good for something. Anything. It's glossed over but he gladly sacrificed himself, maybe because of his lifelong luggage of holding a burden that he'd never be good enough according to his father
Usually martyrdom is enough to promote someone to a saint in the eyes of the Church because it's the maximum expression of "love thy neighbour as thyself", sacrificing your own life for someone elses sake (just like Jesus himself did) and/ or for your faith in God, so he could very well have become a saint in the eyes of the real world's RACC plus the miracles he performed. Also about the Holy Corpse granting powers to things its probably a reference to the spear that pierced Jesus' body and became a relic and other saints relics.
Plus Johnny allied himself with two people very close to the church ( Gyro and Hot Pants) and even befriended the person who was chosen by the corpse ( Lucy)
it's funny that few weeks ago when i was at church the priest preached something long those lines"if you woke up after siunning and went to confession , you're a saint. if someone forced you to go to church and you relented you're a saint. basically if you acted with concience you're a saint, maybe not a sancitioned one, but even people like simon who was forced to carry jesus's cross is now a saint" so i would see somethign in johnny becoming a saint
This might be an unpopular opinion but Johnny Is my favorite jojo, and it's for good reason he isnt just some guy that does the right stuff he literally kills 2 innocent women on accident, and I like his relationship with gyro, also the fact that he isnt like always a good guy makes him really interesting.
Actually that could be right, would explain the "wall eyes" forming and why some of the Higashikata family gained a stan by simply going near the wall eyes.
is it possible that the holy corpse and Johnny's infinite rotation effect's melded together making it so that all they need to do is bring a sick child and then Johnny's corpse absorbs the sickness every time?
no... I shall WAIT FOR THE ANIME! even if it takes 70 years, I SHALL WAIT! and once all the jojo parts are animated and the series is finished, then, AND ONLY THEN, will I watch this, because I will avoid every spoiler there is, till my last breath. arrivederci!
Part 9's main character will probably be called something like Joel Joestar and he will be the grand-cousin of Johnny Joestar and his stand will be called [Chained Freedom]
2:21 gyro literally says that to be considered a saint 2 miracles must happen after you die. I wanna say he says it sometime after getting zombie horse but I’ll go back and reread it.

I know that zegodhand does that, and maybe you wanted to do that kind of video but you usually have a lot of visual content which kept attention on the video and to see that you are straying from that is very disheartening. I might be nitpicking but still... I find it lacking...
This makes sense, Johnny gave everything for his wife, but wasn't willing to do the same for his son, as in using the corpse, he was willing to give up his life for his own son. We don't have an indicator for the curse starting point, but it seems to me as Johnny's corpse being able to perform the equivalent exchange, the price he paid other than his own life, was the curse itself.

But it's just an idea.
part 9 will be an american jojo
tasked by the american government with collecting or recording the places made holy by the holy corpse in Johnny's trip
I was in the livestream where he and Meti talked about that.
Me: “sees San diego”
Also me: IS THAT A ALTERNATE UNIVERSE DIO REFERENCE
But after all, Josuke is the jesus, or at least attempting to be the Jesus of his part, with his goal of curing diseases for both the Higashikatas and Holly, in his own JoJoLION.
xForts please make a video on this.
It's not like they are both getting sent by mail and then they got them mixed up. One got buried. No one put Johnny's corpse in a suitcase.
When you think that JoJolion name comes from Evangelion I think in a part of my mind that you're right and on some part you're wrong because I still believe that Jobin is Juda and Josuke is Jesus
I dont like that johnny died in a semi comedic way
He was being selfish and using the corpse for his own benefit, and he received what he had coming to him for his selfishness.
@@jmisrad4976 Nah the boulder was a mercy kill because dying by disease would be easily more painful for both him and his family.
When you die by tragic humor
What's with all the Sailor Hats?
They are sexy
I've got an idea for a discussion:
If Jonathan form the original universe would gain a stand ability would it be a version of Tusk?
"I have something here i can never exchange" that made me cry
The way that he transferred the disease to himself was by putting George on the box containing the Corpse.
Johnny will always be a saint in my book ;) fav JoJo after Josuke
The fact that johnny joestar sacrificed himself is a testament to his childhood. Being treated like you're just a burden, a useless burden, that it would have been better if you died instead, causes you to wish you good for something. Anything. It's glossed over but he gladly sacrificed himself, maybe because of his lifelong luggage of holding a burden that he'd never be good enough according to his father
Jonathan: Hamon
Joseph: Predicting
Jotaro: Punch
Josuke: Fix
Giorno: Piano
Jolyne: Strings
Johnny: Spin
Josuke: Who?
Fucking bubbles
“At least not to my knowledge”
Don’t play with my heart like that
the power of best jojo is so strong it can cure the ill for generations
Usually martyrdom is enough to promote someone to a saint in the eyes of the Church because it's the maximum expression of "love thy neighbour as thyself", sacrificing your own life for someone elses sake (just like Jesus himself did) and/ or for your faith in God, so he could very well have become a saint in the eyes of the real world's RACC plus the miracles he performed. Also about the Holy Corpse granting powers to things its probably a reference to the spear that pierced Jesus' body and became a relic and other saints relics.
The Doomer ah yes the sooner who knows about Catholic cannon
Plus Johnny allied himself with two people very close to the church ( Gyro and Hot Pants) and even befriended the person who was chosen by the corpse ( Lucy)
i mean most saints were pretty evil if you look at them through a modern lense
it's funny that few weeks ago when i was at church the priest preached something long those lines"if you woke up after siunning and went to confession , you're a saint. if someone forced you to go to church and you relented you're a saint. basically if you acted with concience you're a saint, maybe not a sancitioned one, but even people like simon who was forced to carry jesus's cross is now a saint" so i would see somethign in johnny becoming a saint
How to become a saint 101
You could say he was a holy healer. *Rasputin Starts Playing*
I might get a lot of hate for this, but... Johnny is my fav JoJo.
*braces himself*
Where is this so called “hate?” All I see is approval

Me, with「The Diplomat」: "Y'all can't see this?"
This might be an unpopular opinion but Johnny Is my favorite jojo, and it's for good reason he isnt just some guy that does the right stuff he literally kills 2 innocent women on accident, and I like his relationship with gyro, also the fact that he isnt like always a good guy makes him really interesting.
I’m not devoted?
I was praying every day
Should i get my ass reading, or should i be a complete mad man and continue watching anyways?
If you're crazy enough, do both.
@@TheMati2214 the mad lad
We have not yet had a black joestar
I finished Part 7 but I still don't understand why people say Johnny's down right evil. Selfish, I can understand, but not evil.
Actually that could be right, would explain the "wall eyes" forming and why some of the Higashikata family gained a stan by simply going near the wall eyes.
is it possible that the holy corpse and Johnny's infinite rotation effect's melded together making it so that all they need to do is bring a sick child and then Johnny's corpse absorbs the sickness every time?
the word "bizarre" is concidered normal in my book now
*B E G O N E T H O T*
2:11 I thought gyro said near the start of the part that in order to become a saint you have to preform 3 miracles after death?
what the hell was that!? I need to read 7 and 8 i'm lost. HELP
I was fighting a saint? "Jesus christ" I didn't realize that
Jonathan: I use ripple
Jonny: *CRIPPLE*
Funny that the alternate version (sort of) of Jonathan, the nicest jojo, is one of the least nice jojo. :)
"It's truly been a roundabout path...."
Jhonny joestar is not that bad tho, after sbr he seems to have gained some morals and lives better, i mean he gave his live for his kid and wife.
it's funny how I surprised my catholic friend by fact checking jojo knowledge by her. She was surprised how much I learned.
i like the new style but would prefer if it was colored pages instead of black and white
There ARE coloured pages, Steel Ball Run is fully coloured and Jojolion is still ongoing so obviously its not gonna be fully coloured
i know i read sbr in color but i mean in the video all the pages are black and white including the sbr ones
Rath I liked reading SBR in black and white
Johnny joestar : walks again
Alternate universe crossed shaped rock : You free trial at life has ended
Part 9's main character will probably be called something like Joel Joestar and he will be the grand-cousin of Johnny Joestar and his stand will be called [Chained Freedom]
If someone hates Johnny, let's go to the parking lot
Zegodhand? XD
The Raywen just watched his Berserk new chapter review:))
I did it too, this chapter looks amazing, as always
2:21 gyro literally says that to be considered a saint 2 miracles must happen after you die. I wanna say he says it sometime after getting zombie horse but I’ll go back and reread it.
Johnny is best JoJo
Him: There is no such things as stands and holy corpse at least to my knowledge
Me: Wow he really wants stands to be a thing
FACT: Jojolion Josuke is the greatest pacifistic hero ever.
Well if we ignore all those times he rekt people, yeah, you're right!
Matthew Elam He kinda had it coming tbh
Clint McKee ALL the rock humans.
You must have been reading a different blue Hawaii arc
Yeah honestly, even with things besides the Blue Hawaii Arc I'd consider Jojolion Josuke one of the most brutal jojo's
Rock: *Falls on johnny's head*
Joseph: "CIZAAR- oh wait sorry wrong part"
*runs away*
Please tell me that this black screen editing won't be a recurring thing on your channel. I know that zegodhand does that, and maybe you wanted to do that kind of video but you usually have a lot of visual content which kept attention on the video and to see that you are straying from that is very disheartening. I might be nitpicking but still... I find it lacking...
I agree
This makes sense, Johnny gave everything for his wife, but wasn't willing to do the same for his son, as in using the corpse, he was willing to give up his life for his own son.
We don't have an indicator for the curse starting point, but it seems to me as Johnny's corpse being able to perform the equivalent exchange, the price he paid other than his own life, was the curse itself.
Nah, he died because of a rock not the curse
Black screens? Such ZeGodHand copy.
He references zegodhand at the beginning
Holy fucking shit xforts actually put a spoiler warning
