  • Do you need to fix a broken jean button or do you just want to update the look of the hardware on your jeans or denim jacket? In this easy tutorial, I will show you how to replace no-sew jean buttons on your clothes.
In part 1 I will show you how to remove jean buttons with a pair of pliers & a screwdriver, and in part 2 I will show you how to add on new no-sew buttons with a hammer. I will also give you tips on how to make sure the holes become as small as possible, and how to strengthen the fabric in case the hole gets too big or add a sew-on button on your garment instead.
Check out the blog post for written instructions: www.missmatti.com/how-to-chang...
This video is part of my mini-series where I update the look of a thrifted denim jacket. In my first video, I added patches onto my jacket - both by hand as well as on a sewing machine - you can check the video out here: • How to sew on a patch ...

I actually found an easier way to remove them, using only a pair of pliers. I use the cutters of the pliers on the other side (the side where you use the screwdriver), only instead of cutting the button the pliers actually separate the two parts as you squeeze. Basically, the same thing you are doing, but a bit faster. I still have to thank you, because I wouldn't have gotten the pliers idea without your video.

Thank you for this video. I have a jacket from Walmart and each button has their terra and sky brand name on it and it is super ugly. I don't wanna buy a new jacket just to get better buttons especially since I wanna modify it with patches and shit.

I would create a patch either around the button hole to strengthen it and make it smaller, or alternatively over it and then stitch a new button hole.
