@Wetpotassium I wish I could say I haven't had a similar experience. sometimes it feels like some of the games that are the hardest to approach end up being some of the best
In a world of games that focus on instant satisfaction, it’s pretty refreshing to see a game that does the opposite, like many rougelites, it focuses on an incremental feeling of success that grows as you play the game, as these types of games aren’t as cool or exciting at face value, I often feel more content playing games like this. Where some games could have you screaming at your screen, games like rain world, while frustrating at times, will give you a bigger sense of reward as an explorer and survivor as you grow and feel a place of belonging in the world that the game puts you in. That is all, thanks for listening to me yap!
Me when the silly indie game platformer with a cool unique artstyle i bought that is apparently really hard for some reason looks stupid after 3 hours of gameplay, but has a suspiciously well-made wiki page, and all the reddit question's replies you searched suspiciously avoid spoilers way too much and it turns out it's because the game is secretly a masterpiece with a unique brutal gameplay that defies typical game design and as a bonus has a deep philosophycal story that changed your perpective in videogames and life so now you try to convince every single one of your friends to play the game by writing multi-paragraph dms to them and talking about it 24/7 like a maniac and also getting genuinely sad because some of your friends either played the game and just thought it was goofy and/or refused to get back on it because it was too hard: ua-cam.com/video/GiDkQTxoT60/v-deo.html
Genuinely, i've tried to make my friends get this game for god knows how long, and it's literally like trying to feed broccoli to a toddler...
