I love how every time anyone fights a difficult enemy in rain world, they just stab it an excessive number of times after it stops moving. No one is taking the risk of it getting back up and monching you.
you end up having enough after the eighth time a blue lizard tanks six spears and still gets back up and chomps you while youre trying to eat it They really do go full on sans fangame mode sometimes - they just take longer to die because they feel like it the rain world is ruthless, and this is a fact of life
@@outspade If I remember correctly, it's actually a mechanic!! I don't remember how it functions, but I think it was like. If the damage is higher than their remaining health, then they'll stay alive while 'bleeding out' for a few seconds and then properly die.
I remember reading a rough estimate of how many spears it takes to kill a thing (1-2 for blue, 2-4 for basically every other lizard, 5-10 for green), so I stab it double the estimated amount of the max and then take a step back because I don't know if it's getting back up.
Hold the phone, how was he stabbing? Was he just throwing the spear at point blank range and then collecting the spear to throw again, or was a stabbing mechanic added?
I always want to think that in videos like these, but then I remember how insanely difficult it would be to convincingly replicate Rain World's animation without just doing it yourself ingame or making an entire program to do it ingame but script it so nothing can hurt you lol EDIT: I just realized instead of remaking one arena and two creatures you could just make a mod that makes reds harmless

There is no such thing as no longer being prey in Rain World. All it really takes is one bad encounter. The game is not even trying to be fair and honestly I think that's fun.
same, plus you learn to spot pole plants with how smooth they are compared to regular poles pole plants can't imitate rust :3 centipedes though, screw those things, they're so freaky

I remember having a 4 part plan to amass several shelters of armories, a ready squad of scavengers, and all the right conditions to hunt the red centipede in garbage wastes and murder it with my bare hands and girth, only to play that one challenge and realize "oh you could've just made a few puffs"
I've never played Rain World, but fighting that thing looks terrifying. It's just so much faster than the player character and so big. Specially when I don't have an understanding of the game's mechanics, it looked like you were about to die everytime it got near you.
That’s the thing, for most players, *you are absolutely correct* And I *was* that close to death every time he got near me. I’m not going to deny much of this was luck, (and a bit of skill) these things are so terrifying

@@RenderingUser As of now I've played it once just to get a feel for it. It was just half an hour until I got softlocked in a plant (According to google it was because I instinctly reacted to it grabbing me by throwing the rock on my hand. Apparently you get softlocked if you're grabbed by a plant as it dies. Who would've guessed that quick reaction time would spell my doom?) and decided to take the chance to stop there. First impressions were really good, loved torturing the lizard with rocks and observing it's behavior, but unfortunately it had a family and they helped it run away. Both seemed very injured but I didn't manage to kill either, I was curious to see what would happen if I killed an enemy but saddly they lost me while I was chasing them. Will definitely play it when I have some time.
that adrenaline shot and release of hatred you get when the enemy is so close to grabbing you, but doesn't because you keep stabbing the shit out of it using the very same spears in their body that's one of the many reasons to love this game

Ah yea that one with spearmaster, i absolutely camped the pipes the entire time. The red centipede started to look like a long disfigured porcupine half way thru and you'd think that it would have died a long while ago but it was immortal for that challenge. I did manage to get all the scales off eventually with the pipe method tho lmao

@@theomni1012 if you can't do a month Spear constantly, reds can be much harder, and red centipedes die in like, 2 explosive spears. Vultures are also pretty easy, even as Monk since hitting the body stuns for enough time to hit multiple times and the neck is like, right there when grabbed.
@@SuperiorBeing I use a semi-suicidal tactic for getting vulture masks. Grab a spear, wait for the vulture to grab me, then throw. If I'm lucky the mask will get dislodged. After the mask is off it's much easier to kill them, since the head is their weak point, and they won't just fly away after 2 spears anymore. Also they get attacked by other vultures when demasked, so as long as the vultures don't land the killing blow on the demasked one, it's easy to get points. And even if the vultures do kill the demasked one, that's OK because I still get foods (Oh also the Vulture Cheese exploit)

That’s the key- if you don’t fear death, then trying again doesn’t feel as bad. I was gonna make this a joke but imma be real, lack of fear makes you better. If you go without fear long enough, your enemies forget how easy it is to kill you. You begin to make them run from you. Make THEM feel fear.
