- Soundstream used to be one of the most high end amplifiers you could buy, now they are very budget friendly, but are they still a decent amplifier? This one is rated at 2500W Rms or 1700W RMS @ 1ohm depending on which manual you believe, the one in the box or the one online. Of the cheap non cea certified brands, Soundstream seems to be the most reliable. Bought a p1.600d 4 years ago to drive two jl 8w1’s and it pushed them no problem . Never shut down after hours of continuous use. I put it in my son’s crv and now is performing the same with his two jl 12’s. Keep it up Ryan, and viewers, please subscribe . We need guys like Ryan .
Great job, I was wandering about those. I own the limited edition Rubicon 2500 and it is extremely powerful. I don't know if it does rated but for $200 I'm very happy with it. Love the guts shot , keep'em coming!
I wish you would say out loud the numbers during the dynos. I usually listen to these UA-cam vids while I’m driving at work and not watching the videos.

Soundstream all over the damn place and still no one has dyno vids of the Rubicon amps! Great video but I still need to see the "top tier" Rubicon dyno even with them selling the company to knock off artists

Not a bad amp, another great video sir. Did just under half of 5000 w around 2100 w and change. Just shy of 2500wrms rating.
Nice job stepping up with the volt meter and clamping for current draw. Having all the numbers is much appreciated. Looking forward to the skar rp 2000.1 review. I own one that powers 2 American Bass XR 12's, and it slams them very nicely. I also bought mine from down4sound because JP's customer service is wayyyy better.
For $190 bucks I preferred the Skar Audio RP-1500.1D I'm seeing it about $169.99 and I think it will do more than rated also more than this Picasso.. that's my opinion but good video! 👍

would like to see a test done by someone that would test the effects of smaller/larger cable running to the sub woofer to see how small of a wire makes a difference and at which point a larger wire does not make any change... obviously the more power the bigger the wire needs to be but it would be cool to see it and have real life numbers not just the math.
Your background music is a tiny bit loud. Its hardly audible sometimes what you are talking about.

Sounds sound different on different systems/ devices . Example would be if someone edits a video to the extent of sending sounds to surround speakers or modulates a front >rear sweep on one side . U wont hear it as such if u are playing one a mobile or something with only one speaker in mono . Also if u have high dollar studio monitors but whatever ur playing was edited on shit speakers u will be able to hear things that u wouldn't if listening on shit speakers or single speaker . Honestly he does need to fix it it is very distracting on my phone .
Just wanted to throw in my 2 cents....i have the pa1.6000d I am pushing 2 AB XFL 12s with it and they slam! Also running at .5 ohm and the amp performs flawlessly, never had a clip or it go into protect. Running high output alternator 1 battery through knukoncept 1/0 wire and big 3 upgrade. Also have the pa4.1000 running 4 crescendo pwx 6.5s things scream. Definitely one of the best sounding system I have had so far.

I had one for about 6months I liked it I ran it at .7ohm and never got hot
For this looking at this 3 years later this is the née RS1.5000D same amp little smaller and better looking case.. but specs are identical. I’d put a PBJ sandwich on this line that says internals are almost identical. Actually has decent .01% thd and 110snr claims… things you don’t see till you get to something like the JL HD series
They are not the same guts... the one in this video is much bigger with more fusing... I'd be stunned if the RS1.5000D put out 1200W at 1ohm
This amp is a steal compared to my rubicon 1000 when it fist came out. Could have bout 4 of these 😰
Best budget amp on the market is the skar rp2000.1 big d wiz just did a dyno on it
Ryan Blankenship I own 2 of the rp2000.1’s and got them both brand new from down4sound, $219 bucks shipped, I would rather deal with JP than skar on the customer service.
Skar is pretty damn good That dyno made up my mind on my next setup. And it was a refurb!
Those Skar amps are darn good amps, even the RP series. I own three Shar 10's wired to 1.3 ohm on a Skar 800 and they sound amazing in my truck. I'm a new fan of the Skar line. I still use Audiopipe and some Rockville equipment.
Roll the dice on Skar if you want. I just sent back a rp2000.1 because it had fluid leaking out of an air vent in the bottom of it and the power wires inside it were corroded/green. It was packaged worse than big d's refurb as well. No problem sending it back thanks to Amazon Prime, didn't have to "deal" with anyone lol. I saved up another 100 and got a 2500.1dz with a 2938w birth sheet @12v. This is the best bang for the buck atm.
Yes it is I have one it is very close to my Rockford t1500bdcp even though my birth sheet is only 1950 at 1 ohm the Rockford does 1700 at 2 ohm so close so with box rise you never see 1 ohm much but the Rockford cost me 400 you could buy 2 rp2000.1
Someone needs to bring Soundstream back to glory the way MD audio is bringing Orion back!! Sad to see the older high grade amps nameplates being used as just that... Nameplates. Orion tops rt now in my opinion tho outta all the O.G brands ( minus Rockford and JL) and that's only because of the tech in those amps... Not build quality. Jmo
Dibeezy ThaGifted if you go back a couple of years they actually had some really good products out when they had teams that cared running Soundstream and PPI the problem was Epsilon didn't care about building a brand they just wanted to move volume. So stuff like Soundstream Reviving The Human Reign and Reference series and PPI bringing back the Power Class and making sure they actually were true to the original line intent was irrelevant if they weren't going to sell millions of them. MD seems to be run by enthusiasts or at the very least people that understand brand loyalty (to a point the cobalt and Z's are pretty much worthless) , they run Lazar Pro which people seem to really like and they are who makes the Lanzar OptiDrive amps for Sound Around which also shows up on people lists of great sub 300-400 amps. So when they bought Orion from DEI I it was a promising move. I wish Epsilon had left the SS and PPI teams alone cause the stuff they were making from 2008-2014 was actually really good.
Soundstream used to be top notch. I have a reference series 604 that my dad bought in the early 90's and it's still powering the speakers in my car today. Things mint

Only issue I have with this amp is it's size. Big for no good reason. We got 3000 watt amps that are actually 3000 watts that are 1/4 the size of this. I used to have an old reference soundstream amp. I enjoyed it.
The ones 1/4 the size are full bridge amps...
Soundstream back in the 90s was one of the top elite car audio companies very high quality up there with ppi,zapco,xtant,phoenix gold but since they merged with power acoustik years ago not anymore.

Yeah that's my biggest beef from Soundstream as of late Tweeter subwoofers and amplifiers specs are all over the place on the manuals boxes internet seems there is a lot of miscommunication within the company products aren't too too bad but definitely not what they used to be
I have to get another soundstream 2 channel for my 15 in sub I already have a 5 channel soundstream for my highs and mid-bass including tweets. That 2 channel 5000 or 3000 should do some nice justice in the Acura thank u for the dyno

Same as the amp tested in this video but slightly larger. This was 2 years ago and I'm still pushing that same amp. It's been quite reliable.
I'm still pushing as well. Can't seem to hurt it. Even had my 2 batteries fail and they didn't even hurt the amp.

Guess most budget amps need strong electrical?
By the time one gets the electric strong enough to run an amp like this they will be able to move up to higher rms systems when ready, and have the electric ready or close.

Wow i have a PA 1.6000D. Mine is rated at 2000w Rms @ 1ohm but i have it wired to 0.5ohms on 2 2ohm dvc tarantulas. I wonder how many watts its feeding the subs. And yeah not efficient at all I have to big ass Stinger batteries and still kills my electrical with dimming lights.
So is the rn.1 5000 worth getting to go with two level 3 DC audio?
man i got a question if anyone can answer i have the soundstream ar1.8000D runs 3783 rms at 14.8V on my local dyno dude and i just bought 2 power acoustiks BAMF 154 which says it 1900 rms each for a total of 3800 rms which is matching my amp perfect now my question is this NO ONE HAS ANY VIDEOS ON THE BAMF 154 are they good or bad or too new please someone tell me i do have a 4th order being built right now for them but i never been a owner and PA stuff before will i regret it?

I have this amp, mine hits about 100 watts more at 1ohm certified than this one, takes forever to get hot. I think they got the strapped and single out puts mixed up. been a good amp so far. You definitely want to run a good extra battery.
I had a 2 volt radio driving it, it wouldn't get past 1650 or so till i put a 1300nex in front it, i think they like the higher input voltage.
I have 5 extra batts in my car
and that means what to me? i have a 270 amp alt ordered, 2 skv2 3500's,2 vxf 12's and 4 d 4700 batteries, 4 boxes of sound deadner, 3 sheets of mdf for a no wall street class. so in total i will have 6 batteries over 8000 watts, and that is not counting the POS i have sitting waiting for me to wall it off for 6 juggernaut 12's, dual alts, 8 batteries, 2 ia40.1. so now what? go brag somewhere else.

i own this amp, and it pushes 2 PA MOFO 124x perfect.. Can you test the PA 8000.1 ohm amp. Power Acoustik is bullshittin with the manual online vs, whats on the box as well

Ryan Blankenship can you bench the BAMF 8000D it has dual 4 gauge inputs plus 5 40amp fuses you would also be first youtuber to do a soundstream 6000DL or 4000DL I own a 6000DL now wondering what it does without having a RMS tester I wanted another one to strap two data link 6000DLs they run .5 ohm or 1 ohm strapped I can't make up mind with friend on what we go with the DLs are suppose to be true RMS and use the same board in older series class d tarantula amp

not really, u could pay for a nice high end amp that burns less amps for the same watts but not that less ... i would work whit the woofer box and the woofer more before jumping to a 5000w model
u know, dont need big wires for the speakers u can actually use 1mm wire and be fine cuz its not 12v

I had one for a short time it was ok I still think my orion xtr 1500 got louder and sounded better for the money, and my bass knob was broken the same as mine but I sold it to a buddy for 100 when I got my sundown 3k, he seems to like it
