We were very surprised as well, I have sent the bird away for taxidermy as we do not expect to ever see one ourselves again. Our guide had said that they have seen 2-3 over the years. We figure he must have taken a wrong turn leaving Iceland and showed up on our east coast. Glad you enjoyed, thanks for watching👍
Is that a SX4? I have an SX3 and it’s my favorite shotgun I’ve ever owned. I’ve had Benellis, browning, Remingtons, and some other “top of the line” shotguns.. nothing seems to compare with these Winchester’s, in my opinion. Been thinking of upgrading to the sx4, but not sure if there is enough difference to justify spending the money.
I did a ton of research before deciding on the SX4. Like you said, the general consensus between all of the reviews I've seen was that the SX4 competes very well with those $2000 + price range shotguns. I have only had it for this season, but so far zero complaints. As far as upgrading to the SX4, from everything I have heard the only differences versus the SX3 were mostly ergonomic changes. I know most of the internals are very similar, if not the exact same. The "Gould Brothers" channel has a very good review comparing the differences between these guns. Thanks for watching and happy hunting👍
To be completely honest, I would not have recognized the difference myself right away as I have never seen one before. We did initially think it was going to be a speck while we were watching it circle in. However our guide identified it as a Pink-footed goose after retrieving it. The pink feet were very obvious when looking at the bird in person. Thanks for watching👍
I have Winchester sx4 waterfowl max5 with the code black goose choke aswell , hits like hammer , what shells are you using ? Nice hunt and good shooting 👍
The SX4 has been treating me great so far. I have been mostly using Black Cloud, this hunt was 3 1/2" BB specifically. It seems to be a great combination when you connect with a bird, I had patterned this setup prior to this hunt and it looked great. Thanks for watching, happy hunting 👍
WHAT IS THE DIAMETER OF THIS CHOKE ? I SHOOT A STRATA HYBRID SX4 WITH A CARLSON .715 NOW,, IS IT TIGHTER THAN THAT ?? KILLING OUT TO 60 yrds !!! THANX & HAPPY HOLIDAYS !! ""MICHIGAN GOOSEMAN"" !
I actually had to reach out to Pattern Master about this before I ordered the choke. This choke was the code black goose. The code black series chokes do not actually use construction to produce their patterns, instead they use a set of machined stud rings to hold the wad. My explanation doesn't do it much justice, but they have lots of videos explaining how they work. However, I was told the diameter measures .715 by Pattern Master. Thanks for watching, happy holidays and happy hunting👍
Craig never changed a bit , nice hunt !
He keeps it consistent👍 We were lucky enough to make the most out of the heat and blue-bird weather
Was surprised to see the Pink Footed Goose , here in the UK it's our main goose they breed on Greenland and Iceland , good video .

How do you know it’s a pink footed goose and not a juvenile speck?
