What's with the random dead fish at 9:20 lol Edit: Is that you keeper floating?
Yes haha, that is the keeper floating on the stringer. Thanks for watching!👍
I never noticed before but is it normal for that much fire coming out of the barrel?
Generally not, no. That gun was in needing of a cleaning. However the frame rate settings on the GoPro can sometimes make it appear more dramatic than it really is. Thanks for watching!👍
what’s your guys black duck limit? 5?
It has recently been extended to 6. Thanks for watching! Hope you had a good season👍
@ yes not over yet for us in NJ but i was happy when they extended our black duck limit to two. 4 years or so back
Ontario 6 per day. Good video to watch.
Thank you for the feedback, appreciate it! Hope you had a successful season as well👍
Great vid fellas, are you near the NB boarder by any chance?
I've been traveling a lot this year, this is not too far from there! Thanks for watching, good luck with the next season👍
Awesome stuff boys
Thanks for watching! Hopefully you still have some ducks hanging around, they've been few and far between out this way.
I am wondering what make your blind bag is in the boat please ?, thanks.
The blind bag is a Sitka Full Choke pack. I just picked it up this year as I was looking for a waterproof blind bag. Thanks for watching!
Nice pintail! Don't worry about the broken bill, the taxidermist would replace it anyway. Good luck the rest of the season.
Thanks for watching! Good luck to you as well, I hope you have been able to find more consistent birds this season than we have. Enjoy the remainder of the season, happy hunting👍
Which cartridges shotsize ,choke you used
We did a lot of pattern testing over the summer. The best patterning combination out of the Winchester SX4 we found was using the Kent FastSteel 2.0, #3 shot size out of the Müller Passing Choke. Thanks for watching! If you have any other questions please reach out👍
Im from Florida, what is that beautiful red leafed vegetation in front of you in the morning the second hunt?
I believe it is a Wild Rose bush. Thanks for watching!
Great videos !
Thanks for watching and I appreciate the feedback! Hope you have had some luck this season, happy hunting👍
Awesome hunt boys! Can’t wait for our opener!!! Great video as always.
Thanks for watching! Hopefully some cooler weather soon, good luck this opener👍
"Opening day" Sitting in Zone 2 wondering wtf !
We did some traveling for this opening day! Thanks for watching, good luck this season👍
Been fishing off the Inverness beach great fishing huge bass
I enjoy fishing that corner of the island, good to hear that you're having some luck! Thanks for watching, happy fishing👍
I know exactly where this spot is and i agree its best kept a secret. Thank you for not spoiling our spot. Awesome vids
Everybody has their spots they like to get away to. Would hate to ruin those opportunities! Thank you for watching, happy fishing👍
Well done on handling that fish, gloves off cold wet hands for sure on that one but way to respect that fish awesome to see
Appreciate it! That April water is cold, but the excitement of landing a fish is a good distraction. Thanks for watching, happy fishing👍.
Beauty, was that a Brown or salmon?
I was really hoping it was going to be a brown - but it was a salmon. Thanks for watching! Happy fishing👍
That was an awesome vlog, felt like I was there fishing with you! Right on boys👏👍
Really appreciate the feedback - glad you enjoyed! Been trying to tell a bit of a story with each video. Happy fishing this season👍
This definitely looks like annapolis river in annapolis valley
I haven't fished there in about 20 years. Been mainly catching stripers in the Shubenacadie river or the Stewiacke River.
That was my first time in Miramichi, it was good to mix things up. I have been seeing a lot of people fishing in Shubenacadie that last times I have driven through, I hope you have been having good luck! Happy fishing👍
annapolis river?
Nice fish! Is that saltwater?
Yes, salt water! Decent sea run speckled to start the season off. Good luck this spring👍
What braided line you using? With no leader, you worried about fish seeing the line?
Thanks for watching. I have been using 15lb PowerPro braid for my main line. It would be hard to tell in the video, but I always run about 4' of 12lb fluorocarbon as a leader and have not had any issues, even with salmon. I used to run an 8-10lb fluorocarbon leader but found I was having a lot more break-offs. Hope this helps, happy fishing👍
Fish on!!!!!
With the weather getting warmer it won't be long now👍
❤❤❤❤
Missing it already! Thanks for watching, looking forward to checking out your new rabbit videos soon👍
Hey fellas sum nice specs..✌️its February and almost 2 more months to go ! 😁
Thanks for watching! Looking forward to the end of winter and spring fishing, best of luck this season - Happy fishing👍
@@NovaScotiaOutdoors thanks bud it can't come soon enough !
Right on boys!
Thanks for the comment, hope your season was just as memorable!👍
Right on boys!!!!
Just checked out your video, sad to see the end of the season come around. Looking forward to the next👍
If you don’t mind me asking what area of the province do you hunt? I only have one spot and am looking to try and scout out more spots I just don’t know where in the province is good. Thanks for any info.
This year in particular I have had to travel a lot, which has resulted in me hunting all over Atlantic Canada. This spot has been shown to me years ago by a friend, so unfortunately I cannot disclose it's whereabouts. However, I have had luck at both ends of the province this year. I try to focus on scouting in the late summer - early fall to find areas where ducks tend to naturally collect, as well as identify any natural flyway areas such as rivers. Google Earth is always a really helpful tool for me. Hopefully this helps some, best of luck! Happy hunting👍
How long abouts were you there all in all? Thanks for the encouragement cause I often want to go but never figured it was worth it to go alone. Clearly I’m wrong to think that!
From the point of launching and re-loading the canoe, I was only there for a little over an hour! It was definitely a lucky hunt, but I had been scouting the area pretty heavily. I prefer to go with some buddies as well, but those solo hunts can be pretty satisfying when they pan out - it's just a matter of getting out. Thanks for watching and best of luck with your hunts👍
@@NovaScotiaOutdoors my worse issue is finding a suitable place away from houses, public roads etc here in cape breton. Nonetheless I’d travel if I had an idea where to travel too… it’s been years since I’ve gone I don’t have a lot of fancy gear but a decent 12ga pump and a few bags of duck decoys. It would be a pretty great day to connect with like minded people. Hence why I started looking and listening here on UA-cam and commented in the first place. Thanks for the reply!
Did this hunt take place somewhere in NS?
This is not in NS, do you guys hunt in NB often? This compound was drained last year, but water levels are back to where they should be now
This is the first year I've been able to do a lot of hunting in New Brunswick. It's been a decent year despite weather conditions. Nice eye, thanks for watching and happy hunting👍
@@NovaScotiaOutdoors you must have a local guide to hunt in nb
Yes, fortunate enough to have lots of friends in NB. Some of which have their guide course.
Hey that's a.sweet goos
Thank you! It is my first piece of taxidermy for the wall👍. Happy hunting
Hello perfect duck hunting 🦆 i have hunting videos on youtube
I'll be sure to check them out, thanks for watching! Happy hunting👍
Fishing as a blood sport is unacceptable. Fish for food or stay away.
Many of the fish caught in this video were actually harvested. It is a great way to enjoy the outdoors and the resources we have. Fish that were too small, or not ideal for harvesting were released to fight another day. Thanks for watching
Hello good videos i have hunting videos on youtube
Thanks for watching, I'll be sure to check them out. Happy hunting👍
Nice t!ts... i mean nice shot nice shot
Hello, I am from Siberia. What is the place in NS you are hunting?
i might be mistaken, but aint your shotcam a little of too the left maybe?
You are right, the tactacam must have got readjusted in the gun bag as it was not lined up properly. Unfortunately I did not realize this until I removed the camera to download the footage. Thanks for watching! Happy hunting👍
Good evening hunt… how come you didn’t use shotkam?
Thanks for watching! I often find that when hunting ducks, especially in areas with short visibility, it is tough to have enough time to get the tactacam on in time to record. Most of the tactacam footage from this hunt was post-shot. Happy hunting👍
Nice bling! Lots of bands in NS this year!
Thanks! There seems to be a few around! You never forget your first, planning on putting him on the wall. Happy hunting👍
Nice !
Thanks for watching! Happy hunting👍
What choke and shells you run in that sx4? Thanks subed to the channel.👏
Thank you, appreciate it! I've done a lot of patterning with that SX4 this year with different chokes and ammo. I've been using a Muller choke with their "passing" constriction. Essentially their mid-long range choke. It patterns very well with Federal Black Cloud #3. However, I've recently started using Federal Speedshok as well because it is a fair bit cheaper, and the patterns are very comparable. I've been liking this setup, however the choke is very tight. Sometimes short range shots can be a bit challenging. Once we start field hunting for geese, I will likely go back to using the Pattern Master Code Black Goose choke shooting BB. Both chokes patterned well on paper. Hope this was useful! Happy hunting👍
Good video boys! We dropped our first video today too.
Thanks, appreciate it! Just about to sit down and watch your guys' video now, looks like a good one from the thumbnail👍
@@NovaScotiaOutdoors not the birds we expected, but definitely had a good day getting that band!
Haha wicked boys!
Hard to beat the mood of opening morning, hope you guys also had some luck👍
Keep ‘em coming boys!
We'll see if the birds cooperate! Best of luck tomorrow for opening day👍
@@NovaScotiaOutdoors thanks! Can’t wait! You guys too!!!
where where you looks like a hood spot
What part of ns
Great video - are you left handed or just like fishing left handed?
I am actually right handed, the majority of the spinning reels around here are sold initially set up on the left side. The casting rods are mostly set-up on the right side, however I have never got into using one. Thanks for watching! Happy fishing👍
Where at?
Awesome! Whenever I try that I lose all my gear in the River Philip.
I have heard that, and the Shubenacadie can be hard on gear. However, I haven't tried them. Going to try to get out next year. Happy fishing👍
