I just bought a set of drake waders, expensive, but what sold me was a 40% off discount for military/vets and that discount helped me alot, get a great pair
Thanks for the info. Are the High & Dry sized tight or loss in the toe part of the boot and is the ankle part snug? Wide foot/thin ankle syndrome here, who walks. Hip boots are nice until ya step into a 5' gut! Thanks again
I recently had a pair of tidewe waders and after wearing them all through duck and steelhead season I wore the heel on the inside of the boot completely out. Due to the waders being literally destroyed after a season I definitely don’t recommend tidewe waders unless you get the higher end options.
Thanks for a great review of some of what is currently available. I will probably be buying the High and Dry waders soon. Two of my friends have recently purchased the $1000 brand but I just cannot justify that.
Thoughts on banded waders? From my research. I wanted some RealTree max-7 camo waders and from what I find Banded and Lacrosse waders are the only brands that have them and Banded has a 2 year warranty. As well lacrosse waders don’t have the best reputation Banded seem convincing with with what I see
@@Owen_5505 I personally have not used the banded or lacrosse waders before so I can’t speak on that, your best bet is it to lookup the pair you want and do as much research as possible and look for reviews. We have been running high and dry waders and they have been awesome for us.
I feel like just getting some goofy pins and pinning them up lol. Gotta find some funny ones 🤣. I just got my set today! Can't wait for trout opener! Lol
Didnt see the upper end tidewe waders, those are mid grade, do a review on the tidewe 1600g zipper waders and lets see your opinon then, oh and the boots are not anything like those tidewes.
Can Someone in the industry please let a manufacturer know, if they make a boot foot wader (breathable) with cleats on the boots you will sell tons. Means nothing to you southern guys probably but guys that fish and hunt in their waders will appreciate it. I’m tired of having to buy stocking foot waders and hunting waders.
@@ryanwehrli9411 They are. Thats why they are left out of comparisons, no one can compare with them. Now you can buy a new pair of waders every couple years , or you can buy a pair of Chene’s with a lifetime warranty and be done. They are high I give you that, but what top of the line product isn’t ?
@@cowboycolt5014 mine has plenty of room the chest area to fit layers on. And I use the hip belt to tighten everything down tight to my body so there isn’t any material flopping around.
That first neoprene waders from Cabelas is what i still use. Bought it 2009 still using it. I just patching and repair it with Aqualseal. When drying Neoprene waders. Flip it upside down and it’ll dry in about 4-6 hrs
I bought The High N Dry and got a leak on the first use. 4 holes in 3 years. They are not tough or durable. Personally will never buy again. Like the long straps, makes them easier to grab when putting on.
The Kuiu Wadder base layers (StrongFleece 290 Layering Pant) with the sturrip straps are money with the High N' Dry.
This is absolutely exactly what I was looking for. Great job guys
Should review the TideWe deep wade zip waders

I would say sizing is true to size. As far as ankle it has good support. Not crazy tight just a very comfortable boot

I feel the same way about high n dry dislike the same things you said but have a pair 3rd season still no Lea

underrated and under appreciated video👍
Is there a lot of excess material in the HND breathable waders for slim folks and if so how do you deal with that?
@@bryanfobbus3946 I’m pretty slim and it’s not bad at all. I use the waist belt to keep everything tight to my body
How do you go about layering up with the breathable high n dry waders
All depends on temperature. If it’s freezing cold I’ll wear long Jon’s high and dry fitted sweatpants and another type of pant over that.
Merino wool or the under armor/ Nike dry fit style base layer tights. Even if you get wet you won’t really notice

Great video. I’ll bet burning those straps will void warranty. Just make sure you are past the one year warranty on the HnD waders.
Nope we talked to them that’s what they recommended we do after fitment just cut and burn them.

I agree, only problem is when you break all the cleats off are your waders shot then?
Just make them screw in and replaceable 👍.
There’s NO wader that even comes close to a Chene Wader. Lifetime warranty, the boots feel like a fine house shoe. Best ever!
At $1100 they better be good and have a lifetime warranty my entire setup didn’t cost that much Jesus.

That’s unfortunate to hear you had a bad experience. We have been using high and dry hard for a few seasons now and still no leaks.
I bet you did not contact HnD for warranty and will further bet they are holes punched in the wader material - not a seam leak - EHH??
So freakin helpful.
Ukraine are in desperate need of waders, does anyone know how to do crowd funding to supply these?
