I would love to hear about some of the other electro Hamonix 9 series. I have the competitor the Digitech Dirty robot so this one is redundant to me.
We will try to get our hands on all the other 9 series pedals...btw...Dirty Robot video is out next week

Hey, not complaining about your playing.
But I have one of these for my bass, I definitely recommend using a pick to play with.
Makes a huge difference to tracking.

I'd like to try running a mic into it.
I mean, could you sort of scat-sing and have it come out as a keyboard solo?
I am more interested in the C9, but the ability to have 2 setting or even cycle through the modes with a footswitch would be great.

What is the difference between the Synth9, the Micro-synth, and the new Mono-synth, all by ehx, not to mention the Superego which they describe as a synth engine. I assume the Mono is mono and the other two are polyphonic, but I could be wrong. You guys have any idea?

Some sound presets works way better with a bass! You should have tried that with a mic :-)

I had this pedal for three months but I returned it for the Dirty Robot. When powering it without its original power supply it is to inconsistent and doesn't power up even with a current doubler and besides that the other annoying thing is no matter what brand of patch cable I used it would always pop out just ever-so-slightly so that when I started it up my rig there was no sound and had to push the cable back in.
I have a weird thing that I have to do with my C9 to get it working. I turn it on and there is no signal, but then I pull out the power while it is on, then reconnect it. It pops loudly that first time then turns on and off fine after that for the duration of a session. I do love it though, the C9 has some great sounds, particularly paired with delay, reverb and some added vibrato. The Synth9 sounds awesome here but I doubt that I'd do more than fiddle around with it making odd sounds.
What if you play a little fast solo, does it track well or not?
I think it tracks really well when you play fast...there are some sounds that have a slower attack and you kinda have to play slower...just because they are emulating synth pads or strings that are meant to be played slower

Too much "take on me"?
Considering how retro and backwards EHX product demos usually are,- played on cutting edge ,circa mid/late '90's gear, utilizing pick sweeping and arpeggios, I'd say the boys would be hard pressed to compete.The difference is, they're kidding ,- and EHX are marketing to an almost retired demographic.Always liked EHX,- but they can be almost embarassing, like that once cool uncle ,that's now boorishly sober.
