  • The Conqueror
    by Andrea Nabangue
When you have an ambition, each day is a war,
And I must be brave because my dreams are still far.
I’m striving to escape from this place so bizarre,
It is peculiar and puzzling, to look for a door ajar.
A door where I can knock and ask for help,
To give me a sword, shield, and breastplate,
That I can use while I fight for myself,
While I conquer my inevitable fate.
    As time passes, I realized
You are lucky if you’re alive
You’re fortunate if you’re not paralyzed
By the lack of hope for your goal in life
I’m not yet whole, not also broken
My target is just distracted, can’t focus aiming,
'Cause I am fixing myself while I’m bleeding
In this battle I’m hoping, for the return of my weeping.
Our minds need to decide and think,
    Because everything we protect,
Everything we save can be lost in just a blink,
So, we must anticipate on the results of what we want,
Because in our lives, we are our own commandant.
