“To understand is not to excuse; to empathize is not to forgive.” Just because someone has a deeper motivation for an evil act than “I enjoy evil acts” does not necessarily make them any less evil or more sympathetic. I gotta see some remorse, or redemptability. “Less evil than Sidious” is a real, real low bar to hop over. Step. Step over.
Barris Ophee was a cool character and her betrayal was a brilliant concept I’m disappointed they never followed up with. It would’ve been interesting to see Ashoka confront her once best friend and ally following her betrayal, especially given where her path took them both. That’s what the Ashoka show should’ve explored, in my opinion.
Not only should Grand Admiral Thrawn be on this list, maybe even beating out Dooku for the top spot, but Darth Maul and Hux absolutely shouldn't be on this list. When both of those characters were children could they have earned sympathy, sure. The same could be said about Ed Kemper or Joseph Stalin. Sociopaths still have the ability to make choices in life, and when they go down the paths of the wretched actions of Darth Maul and Hux, they do so willingly. Those two are plain evil, bad news, and bad examples for this list. Those are my two pennies.
I don't think a single person missed that Dooku wasn't evil. Pretty much every separatist was manipulated into believing the republic was the evil one and they were liberating the galaxy from an oppressive government. And technically they were all correct.
Wow you guys probably should have done some actual research before making this video but because i'm a nice guy let me help you out, Barris was a terrorist, Hux killed billions potentially trillions, Jango would kill anyone if you paid him, Grievous was a mass murderer and Dooku helped start the clone wars which resulted in billions of lives lost, killed members of his family and killed his best and only friend(Sifo Dyas). If you are gonna make videos about extremly popular franchises atleast put in enough effort so you can at the very least sound like you actually know something about it
And you obviously didn't listen to the video. They're not trying to make them out as good people, they're just giving backstory to show that these characters weren't evil just for evil's sake. They did horrible things, as the video acknowledged repeatedly, but they had their own justifications for doing so, which is good character writing
He is literally giving justifications for all of the characters actions and poor ones at that. "Oh Hux wasn't that bad because his dad was mean" each of the characters that i put in my comment are actually as evil or far more evil then people think. My main point still stands, this dude has no business talking about star wars because he knows nothing about it
@@indica8299 well I do know SW and consider myself to be informed enough to discuss it, and I seem to recall this bit of wisdom: “You’re going to find that many of the truths that we cling to depend greatly on our own point of view.”

Step. Step over.
The beginning of Dark Desciple, where Dooku orders the slaughter of refugees, would like a word with you.
Dude you forgot the person who Never wanted to turn to the dark side Anakin Skywalker
I am very basic, my favorite Sith Lords are Vader and Maul, both just hit a chord in me
My favorites will always be Vader and Revan.
Where is Grand-admiral Thrawn???
Thrown is flat evil. Doesn’t belong here
No sure I'd really call Thrawn "evil".
Well, but He works originally for the Chiss Ascendancy, and not for the Empire. And thatswhy I think He's Genius.
But yes, I think also

yeah, i don't remember exactly who but i think one of the higher-ups at lucasfilm said apart from palpy boy, no one in the sw universe is irredeemable
So ALL of the past Sith Lords were redeemable?
@@thebananaspeedruns9275 well, i think they were just referring to onscreen characters
Favorite? Darth Tyranus (Count Dooku).
As always, thank you all so very much for the videos.
Rather surprised that Ventress wasn't on this list.
Revan, Vader...complex, conflicted and cool
So, they're only "mostly evil" then. 🤣
Wonder if Charlie Brown would become a Mr. Hooks.
So, basically, a lot of these villains were actually victims of injustice that the Jedi supported or ignored.
The only problem is. I can’t think of a single fight count. Dooku did not run from. His character was very wasted.
Dooku in my opinion is one of THE best Star Wars characters. Sucks he died..
Count Doo-doo...
For me I don’t think Kylo Ren and count dooku were not that much evil
6:15 Don't do that in the middle of the video! I almost clicked out because I thought the video was over.
Thought Ventress and Thrawn would've made the list.
I thought that story about Greivous was part of the non-canon EU...
So is the Galaxy with Perridia closer or far farther away? 🤷🏼♂️🤓😎✌🏻

Man. Ben Solo/Kylo Ren very much should be in the list.
Nute Gunray and Haako.
Where is ventress, reva, trilla, bode acuna and boba fett???
Still waiting for Asajj Ventress
Darth Jar Jar for sure.
My favorite sith lords are Vader and Malgus.
it would've been nice seeing Pong Krell lol. I mean yes he was an ass but how you see him is different to every person.
You dont need to ask me wich Sith is my favourite btw did I ever tell you the tragedy of Darth plagueis the wise?😅
Its not a tale the jedi would tell you.
@@Darth-Vader546that man is no Jedi
@@SamJulesGillians oh shit

🤔
@@SamJulesGillians I’m not either
When I think evil villains I think Maul

Cool motive, still murder 😏
We want Sean back!!!
THRAWN
Interesting.
Yikes, this is all bad takes. Like, terrible. Apologize and delete.
Thanks for reminding me how shit Ahsoka was.
Thanks for reminding everyone how whiny, bitchy, shitty, toxic, and entitled star wars fans are.
Ah shit, here we go hating on Ahsoka again...🙄
Nobody is evil. Or good.
