- Een enorme overwinning voor Friesland: Lonely Planet heeft Friesland verkozen tot de derde plaats van de tien 'Beste in Europa'-plekken van 2018. Dit werd vandaag bekendgemaakt door de wereldleidende reisgids. Een uniek evenement voor Nederland, want het is de eerste Nederlandse bestemming die ooit zo hoog op deze beroemde lijst terecht is gekomen. LF2018 heeft hierin een grote rol gespeeld.
I live in Friesland, and if I sometimes leave for school or work, I always think about how special it is here. Not overpopulated, much variations in nature -in a territory not even so big- and the people, they always greet you when you pass them. I am born here, and hope I wil live here all my live.

sometimes i think, god damn. other countries are beautiful with their mountains, and big forests and large swaths of pure nature.
but then when its a nice sunny day, with blue skies for miles. and i drive between all the green pastures with their yellow Dandelions and white daisy's and the boats on the channels and lakes. and i think. god damn. what a beautiful place under the sun. wouldn't trade it for the world.
My last name is Friesland, I'm American and multiracial Friesland is part of my family history and I'm planning on visiting my ancestors homeland one day

I have been in Leuwarden, in Sneek , in Stavoren... I like this citys very much. It is amazing, so magical. I love Frisland.

I was born in Leeuwarden en live now in a small village near the Waddenzee. My ancesters made some Awsome history, like Eise Esinga (planetarium) from Franker. I am a proud Friesian. This my home.

As a Dutch person, I find the way this area is praised with dramatic music funny. It's a nice area for sure, but most young people leave.

Het is de rust in de natuur wat Friesland zo mooi maakt. Niet overbevolkt zoals in de randstad. Ik hou van onze mooie provincie.
