The cape is a MASSIVE upgrade! That old Sentry cape was arguably the worst cape in the history of Hasbro Marvel Legends. This body is also much better for Sentry
The use of the old sentry for the void head is perfect. I think the coloring and the body works better
The Void head looks more like a transforming Ghost Rider to me. That smile reminds me of Nic Cage's first transformation in Ghost Rider. On the packaging, the front shoulder muscles are different than they are on the figure. 10:06 You can see the difference in the shape of the muscle on his left shoulder here compared to the one on the digital render at 1:39. This is because Hasbro flipped the Grim Reaper shoulders. 7:09 The back shoulder muscles' curves are a better match to the render.
Pretty late to this going pick up this figure since he showed up in walgreens finally in the us but I love the yellow on the packaging more than the real one but it's OK
This came out better than I thought. And this character has a lot of sick ass fights: World War Hulk, Carnage, Copiel Thor and he recently got ripped in half by Knull. Would’ve loved to see those comparisons if you have those figures
The fight with Carnage was honestly not even a fight. Man, Carnage got destroyed by Sentry lol. Carnage threw whatever he could at Sentry and Sentry literally blocked all of it with his barehands then flew Carnage to the sun ripped him in half and then threw his body into the sun. R.I.P. Carnage(pun intended) lol.

The Sentry is alive once more and 100% evil. He recently waged war against Annihilus, fought Beta Ray Bill and commanded the Revengers ( Cancerverse Avengers ).

are the joints gummy? looking at century standing next to the old one you can already tell how gummy the knees are on the new one. it really bugs me that the figures warp over time just from literally standing on the shelf
Mine’s legs feels pretty gummy also.
As good as this figure looks and as big of an upgrade this is from the previous Sentry from 2015, I would’ve much preferred this Sentry on the new Vulcan body, considering it’s gonna start being reused as early as the new Black Panther comic figure coming out, I think the new Vulcan body would be more suiting bc I don’t honestly see Sentry as a big guy, and he stands only 6 feet tall exactly
Still gonna pick this up tho, like I said, still enough of a huge improvement from the previous Sentry
I agree Vulcan mould or maybe retro Hercules would've been better than this.
Vulcan body is too tiny for sentry, imo, maybe omega red buck, but maybe too big?

I still like the buffer body of the 2015 version, even if it is a bit gummy, imo. Made a decent Exiles Mimic base, at least. I might need to upgrade him, now?
The Void I want to say has a black and red "mirror" look to Bob, that I recall. Then, of course, the shadow self.
Meanwhile, I'm still looking for Binary and Zemo...forget Jigsaw.
(Only ONE of my Walgreens still has A Nova (with remains of a shipping label?), and that's the only one out of an easy dozen stores in tri-country area that still has ML.)

Nice review, love the head swaps as well. I'll probably use Quasar or Namor's flight hands for him.
The open hands that 90’s VHS Morph comes with work great with Sentry and Sentry’s trigger hands work great for Morph. Why Sentry would need trigger hands is beyond me.
I was just about to say the same thing. I just noticed morph had better open hands that would work great as flight hands. And morph would even benefit more with the trigger hands because he actually does use guns… Really strange they would even give trigger hands to the sentry of all figures.

This review will definitely help me make a decision on this one Dan, I really like Sentry, but I’m not a fan of the Shoulders on the Grim Reaper mould, if they’ve fixed the issue with the shoulders being a bit stiff then I might pick one up, two questions Dan, where do you get your new figures and when is Bobby Vala doing vehicles in Action Force? (Hahhahaha) two of the most asked questions

This updated sentry isn't bad!! Could use butterfly joints and vulcan buck!! Wish sentry wasn't a walgreens exclusive for the U.S.! Hasbro what's up with those trigger hands?? Great review Dan!!
I really wanted a new Sentry figure, but not on this old Grim Reaper bod with gummy joints. If they had to use it they should've given it the 80yrs Capt America hips which have more out to the side range and new arms.
He should be on either the new Vulcan bod or retro Hercules.
As for the hands he should have flat flying hands and grabbing hands to accompany the fists. Trigger finger hands really?
I think the Void has used guns when he appeared as a shadowy gangster in a trench coat and hat. I'd be tempted to paint the skull head black.

I had to come back to comment that your review was posted MORE THAN two months ago! We just this morning got the chance to pre-order the figure (not in stock at stores yet). Talk about lopsided distribution. It would suck being a figure reviewer in the USA right now.
Prefers the previous one but nonetheless, seeing both versions side by side, I think that we haven't been treated with the definitive Sentry action figure. Great review! New head on new body looks epic tho!

This might be controversial but... I don't always need the BEST Hasbro could give us.
It's great they're shifting to pinless joints, but the lack of it is not a negative for me. More accessories are great, but if I have what I need, I'm happy.
Re-use happens, nature of the industry, doesn't bug me.

Seeing them side by side it is objectively an upgrade, not like night and day like other figures, rather like sunrise and sunset, to the blurry eye, there’s not much of a difference, but when you look at the details, you can see they’re not the same.
Personally the new cape and improved printing and proportions make this version superior to the old. But the fact we are comparing a 2022 figure to a decade+ old figure just says a lot for modern ML
what you do is cut the cape off around the neck and keep the rubber part as a "cowl base" like you see on Batman's costumes. Then you replace the cape with a wired cloth cape which goes underneath it. It'll look great!
I think the trigger hands are for a Superman type pose, as the box shows actually. Odd way to go about that but nice inclusion for other figures. Favorite thing about Marvel Legends, the cross compatibility with other figures. Maybe throw the chopping hands from Quasar or Shang-Chi on this guy for cool flying poses.

I can’t get the head off mine so I’m sticking with the Sentry look.
There are known issues that the right leg is shorter than the left. Does your sentry have that issue?

Outdated body mold, which in my opinion is a downgrade, never been a fan of the bucky cap mold,, the accesories are lackluster, except for the void headsculpt, really what this figure needed was the pinless Spiderman or Sunfire body mold, grabbing hands and flying hands to be considered a proper upgrade, as it is, I'll just keep my old Hyperion Sentry.
Lol mate you have no idea what you're talking about. This isn't the bucky cap mold for starters, it's Grim Reaper body.
Second the Sunfire body is way too short and way too skinny for a big guy like Sentry.
Will the head of the old Hawkeye (pack 2) fit this Sentry?

Definitely much better than the previous version in all ways possible. I’m personally gonna be using the Void head sculpt as if Sentry’s regenerating his head back.
I have this figure I literally have it in hand now! But I’m only here to say that this figure is not as good as I thought it would. The main reason I say that is because for one I don’t dislike the hair but it should’ve came with a more neutral hairdo. Secondly, his knee joints are super soft, like to the point that as soon as I took it out the package and stood him up his legs started bending in immediately! And when I say immediately I mean immediately when I stood him up his legs bowed out smh. His knees are super flimsy.
Really wish they done the color that's on the package. The yellow is just too bright

I don't know much about him but I use to have the toybiz version.
the arms are a bit thin, on his body on my opinion, wish they put a little bulk on the biceps...
I am extremely happy with how they did the cape on him.
I think the new Sentry is definitely superior to the previous version.
The trigger finger hands are for two halves of an Ares figure
I hate how some marvel legends figures sometimes have those super gummy arms & legs. My doc oc and some others had the same issue but this sentry figure is the worst so far. I even thought one leg was longer than the other but I’m sure its just warped that way. And on top of that they also feels pretty loose so its been pretty frustrating trying to stand him up straight. The figure itself looks great, just wish the legs weren’t so gummy.

I did mention my leg is a little off yes, I just think it needs a litte hot & cold water, I hope.
Should’ve given Sentry a generic headsculpt where his eyes aren’t powered up, his hair isn’t flowing or an alt with a beard

The belt is a separate piece, but it’s doesn’t snap off or anything..
The new Sentry is more accurate to the comic book and far better looking. Then the 2015 Hasbro version. And the yellow and blue matches much better. And the pins match the colors so there is no real problem with with the figure. .

That Void head seems like an odd choice. I don't know a whole lot about Sentry, but I know with the many ways the Void has been visualized, they probably could have been a biiit more creative.

The newer one is more accurate in terms of body mould as the character is listed as 6’0

I really hope I'm able to get this figure. I hate Walgreen's exclusives they are impossible to get 99.5% of the time.
I hate the old Sentry! I was prepared to have that hole in my collection cause the old body is bulky and unattractive all those old head sculpts looks like they left them too close to a fire. It's the Odinson head and they didn't even try to change ANYTHING.

Normally I like at least one of the headsculpts, here Is dislike them both. The hair on the sentry head looks weird, especially the upper lock of hair that sticks out . Much prefer the 2015 figure. The void head looks like a cheap keychain you get from a gummballmachine. Hard pass.
Not really a void head it’s more supposed to be from that one panel in dark avengers when his wife shot him with marvel boys gun.

@@DanWhoReviews also from photos I saw Sentry was supposed to come with open hands similar to the 80th Thor alt hand maybe it’s just a error in packing and someone put the wrong hands in the box.
@@xeno8484 Other promotional material plus the back of the box shows trigger hands. The only open hands are the renders. How don't know why that was signed off on.

@@DanWhoReviews Like I said it's nice in the UK that it's not an exclusive. I did click on your link, and it 's sold-out. I'm in the US, so I would prefer to get it here. International shipping adding to the cost of the figure is already a deal breaker for me. I'm not the biggest Sentry fan, but I like the improvements on this new fig. If it does appear on the Walgreens app, I'll get it.

He also withstood blows from a large collection of superhumans such as: Ms. Marvel, Ares, Iron Man, Wonder Man, and Sentry while remaining unharmed.
• Telekinesis: Blue Marvel was able to us his energy manipulation to stimulate telekinesis in order to move a girl out of the way of danger when he fought King Hyperion.
•Regenerative Healing Factor
•Superhuman Reflexes: Blue Marvel reflexes are superior to those of the finest human athletes. He's capable of catching bullets and dodging projectiles.
•Superhuman Agility: Blue Marvel's natural balance, agility, and body coordination are enhanced to levels that are far beyond the natural physical limits of even the finest human athlete.
•Superhuman Stamina
•Self-Sustenance: Blue Marvel can survive in harsh environments without air, food, or water. He's also able to survive in the deepest parts of the ocean and unaided in space.
•Superhuman Speed: Blue Marvel is capable of thinking, moving, and reacting vastly faster than any normal human being. He's shown to be fast enough to keep up with Sentry, which means he can move and think thousands of times faster than an average human.
•Flight: Blue Marvel flies by manipulation of gravitons, manipulation of magnetic fields, control of his absolute molecular movement, and utilizing his superhuman speed. He can fly far beyond supersonic speeds, reach speeds of at least escape velocity (7 miles per second), and has been seen flying into space unaided under his own power. He's also been seen traveling to the moon in less than 20 minutes, flying at a casual speed. This would indicate that he is at LEAST capable of flying at 675,000 mph (187miles per second).
•Hyper Cosmic-Awareness
•Superhuman Sense: Blue Marvel possesses sensory abilities that exceed far above normal human capabilities.
• Enhanced Vision: Blue Marvel can see down to the quark level.

A huge reduction of quality, disguised with a different mold for the cape. 8:58 there's no point of comparison.
