I agree with what Katie was saying about the test, pretty precisely. Most people can be manipulated, unfortunately (look at the world), but I wouldn't manipulate them. Also another one, which said something like "You should wait to get back at people until the time is right" where I kind of thought, well, yes, you shouldn't do it when the time is wrong but also I don't really believe in revenge at all? So the test isn't great in some ways. Anyway, good show! Keep it up

Such a good episode I had to come back. I've had a psychoeducational eval, which is similar. I liked Katie's wording of, "These types of tests I always find a little bit difficult because they depend on the honesty and self-awareness of the test taker." My brother would totally cheat the test to 'pass.' So would Trump and serial killers.
My questionnaire asked if I get angry, I said yes, and at the end it told me I struggle with anger. Thanks.

@ min. 28 Katie offered great advise. PICK UP THE PHONE if you want to mention something to someone else that you do not want divulged in public. And that goes for the tens of millions of employees. Whenever you want to say something bad about someone e (e.g. - your boss) do not create a paper trail. Instead, discuss with those you trust over the phone, over lunch, over coffee, at Happy Hour, etc.

That Dark Triad test strongly reminds me of these dumbass assessments that potential employees have to take during the hiring phase. The idea of having an assessment to gain a better glimpse into candidates work habits isn't the bad thing, it's the questions have no context. So those assessments come off as landmines for candidates, outside of those that just know what the companies want to see regarding the answers...inbox me if you're one of those people lol.

I don’t know a lot about the dark triad in particular, but not a big fan of its method
when you answer on a likert scale (i.e. 1-5 or disagree to agree like this test) it has a lot of fence sitting like always answering from 2-4. If people are more likely to have that as their effective range of answers, it feels like that takes even more away
But I’m also sitting here as someone who’s designed surveys with hella likert scale types of questions. Would be nice if we could always take open answer but gl getting participants or people to code the results 😂

Seeing Katie, Pablo and Dan taking that Dark Triad test even the slightest bit seriously had me shaking my head. They've obviously never been involved with an actual narcissist, psychopath or Machiavellian. If they had, they'd know how despicable and totally without conscience these predators are. And I do mean totally. It's absolute. You can't be kinda narcissistic or a bit of a psychopath. Sure, people can be selfish, vain, self-centered, manipulative, etc, to different degrees ... but those Dark Triad traits are a whole different animal. That test they took is just a standardized but inevitably flawed way to make a guess about someone you don't really know. But Katie, Pablo and Dan know each other REAL well. So compared to that, the test was worthless, and just ended up misleading them into some wrong conclusions.
A performer by definition is someone who didn’t get enough love from one or both parents as a child…& therefore has a compulsion to crowdsource love & attention from the whole world (& is soothed by it). All 3 of these folks would be classified as performers.
Katie is also going to marry a road comic, which I would think would not feel comfortable & familiar if her parents had a close “always there” type of relationship.
Analysis over, enjoyed the show & it’s always great when Katie is a guest.

Interesting thought - positive mentions get infinitely less interaction, including from the source of the content itself, then negative comments do. It's easier to read "you suck" then "omg I love your content", and even easier to press reply when someone is being toxic than those with genuine care and love.
