Radha and Krishna's love story is hailed as one of the greatest of all times.
Even today, when people visit the Braj Bhoomi, the chants of Radhe Radhe resonate in their ears. Mathura is Shri Krishna Janma Bhoomi, meaning the place where Lord Krishna took birth.
Mathura, Vrindavan and the adjoining Gokul regions are a part of the Braj Bhoomi associated with the early life of Shri Krishna. And yet, devotees either hail Radha or take Krishna's name as RadhaKrishna, meaning Radha's Krishna. Therefore, Radha and Krishna's names are uttered in one breath, as if they are not different but one entity.
Interestingly, Lord Vishnu took birth on earth as Krishna to eliminate the demon-king named Kansa, and eventually gift the Bhagavad Gita to Arjuna, the representative of the humankind. And during his stay in the Prithvi Loka, Shri Krishna did not marry Radha. Instead, he married Rukmini and Satyabhama. Therefore, devotees wonder why Krishna never married Radha, whom he loved so much, and the one who was in love with him.
Various theories answer this question. According to one of the philosophies, Radha and Krishna were never two entities. In fact, they were one. Therefore, when Krishna and Radha were one, how could they marry?
According to another belief, Radha represented Jeevatma while Shri Krishna is the Paramatma. Radha's selfless love was the highest form of devotion. And therefore, she merged into Shri Krishna by surrendering herself. Hence, since she had united with him, there arose no need for marriage.
And if another legend associated with Radha and Krishna is anything to go by, then the two couldn't get married because of separation. Radha and Krishna were separated because of Sudama's curse.
Sudama was a friend and a devotee of Shri Krishna, who believed that Bhakti (devotion) is higher than Prem (love). Therefore, he did not want people to take Radha's name before Krishna's. One day, Sudama was so furious with Radha that he cursed her by saying that she would lose her memory and forget all about Krishna. Thus, by saying so, he sent her to the Patal Loka for hundred years. Incidentally, this event happened soon after Lord Brahma asked Krishna to take birth on earth as the ninth avatar of Lord Vishnu. Therefore, Krishna did not marry Radha.
Another theory suggests that Krishna is associated with Radha to narrate the importance and power of love. The world would not exist if there is no love, and hence, Radha and Krishna's bond showcases the strength of this emotion.
It is also believed that Radha and Krishna's marriage did not take place because they wanted to define the real meaning of love. They tried to tell the world that love is not about receiving but sacrificing. Therefore, true love isn't bound by an agreement, but it blossoms when liberated.
And last but not least, Radha and Krishna's relationship was spiritual. It was above earthly pleasures, rules and laws. They had united spiritually, and hence there was no need for marriage.

నాకూ అలాగే అనిపించింది,
నాకున్న పుస్తక పరిజ్ఞానాన్ని బట్టి ఎలా ఆలోచించినా..ఈ సారి ఈ కథ అంతుపట్టడం లేదు అరుణ్ గారు.
ఒక్కటి మాత్రం బాగా అర్థం అవుతుంది... పెళ్లి అనేది అనుబంధం అని,ప్రేమ అనేది ఒక మధురమైన అనుభూతి (భావన) అని, వీళ్ళిద్దరి మధ్య ప్రేమ చిగురించింది బాల్యం లో యవ్వన దశలో వీళ్ళు ఒకచోట ఉన్నట్లు ఎక్కడా రాయబడలేదు.
భక్తి కాలానికి చెందిన.. శ్రీకృష్ణ భక్తులు, కవులు, రచయితలు అందరూ వీళ్ళిద్దరి మధ్య ఉన్న ప్రేమను భక్తుడికి భగవంతునికి మధ్య ఉన్న దైవీయ గుణంగానే వర్ణించారు.
"గీతా గోవిందం" లో మాత్రం వీళ్ళిద్దరిదీ జీవాత్మ పరమాత్మ ల కలయిక అని చెప్పబడింది.
వీడియోలో చెప్పినట్లు వీళ్ళిద్దరి ప్రాణం ఒకటే దేహాలు రెండు అని.. దీన్ని బట్టి ఆ దేహం కూడా తనదే ఐనప్పుడు కృష్ణుడు ఎలా పెళ్ళి చేసుకోగలడు అని. రాధ మరొకరిని పెళ్లి చేసుకున్నప్పటికీ ప్రాణం కృష్ణుడి లోనే ఉన్నది కదా అని,కాస్త తికమకగా అనిపించినా..
ఇక్కడ కథను అర్థం చేసుకోవడం కన్నా... తత్త్వాన్ని అర్థం చేసుకోవడమే మిన్న అని నాకు అనిపించింది 🙂
